Storyline
Plot Summary |
Georgetown, Washington D.C. Seventeen long years after the execution of the Gemini Killer and the fateful night of pure terror in The Exorcist (1973), a spate of grisly killings bearing the trademark of the mass murderer terrorizes the district. And as the death toll keeps rising, skeptical police officer Lieutenant William F. Kinderman is still obsessed with solving the baffling case. In the meantime, in the city's high-security psychiatric institution, a cryptic inmate bearing an uncanny resemblance to the late Father Damien Karras emerges from his deep catatonic state, claiming he has all the answers Kinderman needs. But who is the mysterious Patient X? Does the same unholy force that tormented Regan MacNeil have something to do with the brutal demonic murders? Written by Nick Riganas |

Did You Know?
Trivia | William Peter Blatty offered directorial responsibilities to John Carpenter, who liked his script, but backed out when it became clear that Blatty really wanted to direct the movie himself. See more » |
Goofs | (at around 42 mins) The gruesome head cutting scissors were made for the movie and do not exist in real life. It is said in the movie that the scissors are spring loaded, so it takes very little effort to open them, but they produce a vicious force when being closed. This is not possible: the spring cannot produce more force when closing as it would take you to open it. See more » |

Kinderman:
This I believe in... I believe in death. I believe in disease. I believe in injustice and inhumanity, torture and anger and hate... I believe in murder. I believe in pain. I believe in cruelty and infidelity. I believe in slime and stink and every crawling, putrid thing... every possible ugliness and corruption, you son of a bitch. I believe... in you. See more » |
