Britney Spears made her long-awaited musical comeback in the summer of 2022 with a collaboration with none other than Elton John. The two artists joined forces for a new version of "Tiny Dancer," and the infectious single, called "Hold Me Closer," was released on Aug. 26.
The project was incredibly meaningful for both Spears and her fans, as the singer hadn't released new music since 2016's "Glory." She'd also been released her 13-year conservatorship a year prior and was finally free to create the music she wanted.
In her memoir "The Woman in Me," which was released on Oct. 24, Spears recounts how happy she was to have the ability to collaborate with John. "I was honored. Like me, Elton John has been through so much, so publicly," she wrote. "It's given him incredible compassion. What a beautiful man on all levels. A month after Elton John and Britney Spears teamed up to unveil their pop collaboration, “Hold Me Closer,” the duo dropped the accompanying music video for the track Tuesday.
While John and Spears do not appear in the clip, the Tanu Muino-directed video features a number of dancers portraying emotional and heartfelt choreography against the vibrant, colorful backdrop of Mexico City.
“This was an emotional one for me as I grew up with Britney. After seeing ‘Slave For You,’ I decided that I wanted to become a video director. Elton John is an icon that I and the world grew up listening to,” Muino said in a press statement. “Going into this video, I knew there would be a lot of emotional expectations the audience and fans would have. With this responsibility, I had to do something different and unexpected. The visuals had to be different.

Megan Thee Stallion has enlisted British DJ and producer Joel Corry for a new remix of her song, “Body.”
The remix finds Corry transforming “Body” into a dynamic dance track with a steady four-on-the-floor beat, some classic deep house piano stabs, grimy synths, and plenty of big drops throughout.
