Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture will return for a new film in “The Expendables” franchise for Lionsgate and Millennium Media, with Megan Fox, 50 Cent and Tony Jaa joining the cast.
The film will begin production this fall. Scott Waugh is directing from a screenplay by Spenser Cohen with revisions by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly.
The first “Expendables” film was released in 2010 and directed by Stallone. It was a commercial success, grossing $274 million worldwide. Its sequel, “The Expendables 2,” was released in 2012, and a third film was released in 2014. The films have grossed $804 million globally.
“We are thrilled to partner with our friends at Millennium Media for the next installment of the ‘Expendables‘ franchise,” Jason Constantine, President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said in a statement. “It’s so much fun to bring these stars together for a no-holds-barred action film.

[Note: With the film now set for release in the Us this week, here's a re-posting of our review of Seeds, from the films screening at Frightfest back in 2018]
When his increasingly depraved behaviour spirals out of control, Marcus retreats to his family home along the New England coast. But instead of finding solace, Marcus is haunted by his darkest fears and deepest desires. Could something be underneath the bed, lurking? Is he losing his mind or has something terrible burrowed deep within him? Incubating. Waiting until the climate is right. Marcus must fight to save his crumbling sanity and protect Lily, his beloved niece from a monster that lies in wait.
Is there or isn’t there a monster in the house? Or is the “monster” a manifestation of the monster that is Marcus, a man whose escapes the troubles of one sexual act and walks right into another…...

Don't you just hate it when your favorite TV show becomes one of the worst?
When you invest so much time into the characters and the world they live in, you can get easily annoyed if the show changes things up and not in a good way.
It sucks, but it happens. Some of the shows on the list have been off the air for quite a few years, but we still feel very strongly about what went wrong.
Scroll down for the full list.
1. Arrow The constant back and forth between Olicity got old real quick. The tension of working in life or death situations every single day with the person you love couldn’t have been an easy task. Taking time away from what is meant to be an action show and making it a daytime soap was the death knell for the couple. Now, that’s not...

"Ichabod is the hardest part I've played," Tom Mison, star of the freshman fantasy-drama "Sleepy Hollow," airing Mondays on Fox, tells Zap2it. "There's so much that we need to balance with him. To slightly veer in any one direction a little too much, and it will collapse."
"Sleepy Hollow" can be described as a combination of author Washington Irving (in particular, his stories "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and "Rip Van Winkle"), the film "National Treasure" and the biblical book of Revelation.
Mison's Ichabod Crane was a spy for Gen. George Washington during the Revolutionary War, when he beheaded the Hessian Horseman and apparently perished. But, he survived and slumbered underground for over two centuries, only to emerge in present-day Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.
Stalked by the now-Headless Horseman and facing a variety of deadly supernatural forces, Ichabod has partnered with local police Lt. Abby Mills (Nicole Beharie...

Earlier this week Google released its annual Zeitgeist List, which is basically the top ten Google searches for the entire year. Unsurprisingly, it was mostly the names of dead people. We here at TheBacklot are a little more discerning about our fads and faves, so we’ve carefully cobbled together this list of the biggest trends of the year. We liked some more than others, but each played a big hand in the year in pop culture – so let’s take a moment to remember them all, shall we?

Thanks to Netflix‘s revolutionary decision to release all episodes of its original series on the same date, a new circle of Couch Potato Hell was born. Sure, many of us have secretly been doing this for years thanks to box sets and Instant Queue, but this year the bingewatch came out of the closet – making it one of the...

Headless horseman. That about sums up the surreal nature of Fox’s new drama series Sleepy Hollow. In today’s modern world, the last thing we ever expect to see is a living being roaming the streets entirely without a head. But one day, the impossible happens and things that go bump in the night start appearing in the cozy little town of Sleepy Hollow. Who knew their little town would be a hot bed of supernatural sightings mingling with the occult and biblical prophecy? And trying to keep things calm, peaceful and explainable is newcomer Captain Frank Irving (Orlando Jones).
After Sheriff Corbin’s (Clancy Brown) unexpected death, Irving is summoned to keep order in Sleepy Hollow. Whether or not there are things no one can explain, it’s Irving’s job to keep the peace and protect everyone. He must be the rock in the midst of uncertainty...

Sleepy Hollow Episode 101
“Pilot”
Written By: Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, & Phillip Iscove
Directed By: Len Wiseman
Original Airdate: 16 September 2013
In This Episode...
Hudson Valley, New York. The year is 1781 and the Revolutionary War is raging. Ichabod Crane, fighting for the Colonies, shoots a huge masked mercenary off his horse. This doesn’t slow him down, so Ichabod cuts off his head. When we next see Ichabod, he is digging his way out of a cave and stumbles onto a paved road. Welcome to modern day Sleepy Hollow.
Lieutenant Abby Mills of the Sleepy Hollow Police Department is having a snack with the sheriff when they are called out to a local farm, where the horses are spooked. Abby goes looking for the homeowner and finds him dead. The sheriff checks on the horses in the barn, and he is attacked by the Headless Horseman. Abby arrives just in time to see the Horseman riding away.

The screening of the new Fox show "Sleepy Hollow" took up most of the session, but the audience clearly didn't mind. Producer Alex Kurtzman introduced the show by saying, "We are so excited you are the first full audience to see the show." After the episode ended and the crowd roared with enthusiasm, I'm sure he was, if anything, more excited. "Sleepy Hollow" does more than update the Irving Wallace story. While the Headless Horseman does appear, more importantly so does Ichabod Crane, woken from a 250 year sleep. He soon crosses paths with police lieutenant Abby Mills (Nicole Beharie). Although...
