Easter holidays usually bring with them their own brand of religious film releases which more often than not tend to be schmaltzy and overly sentimental American imports. With release schedules thrown into complete chaos and cinemas closed to the public due to the current lockdown, it’s encouraging to see smaller production companies stepping up to the challenge, albeit on a much smaller scale.
One of those production companies is Four8, a small British outfit which is pioneering the use of top-class filmmaking, acting and writing talent, to bring us some impressive and high-quality content with its “I Am” series. The series aims to introduce biblical characters in timeless settings and new interpretations.
Directed by Femi Oyeniran, I Am Pilate is the latest short in this series. At just over 11 minutes long, the film seeks to tell the story of Pontius Pilate, the fifth governor of the Roman province of Judaea,...

Albion Court is the least ‘des res’ in the neighbourhood – a hangout for drug dealers, rife with squatters and two residents recently died in an apparent bizarre suicide pact. However when Sarah (Roxanne Pallett) in thrown out by her abusive, alcoholic mother (Frances Ruffelle), she has no choice but to move in to the notorious block. Determined to make the best of things Sarah tries to settle in but she is disturbed by bizarre neighbours, strange sounds coming through the paper-thin walls, creepy images on the TV and an overwhelming feeling that she is being watched.
Things get a whole lot worse when a badly mutilated body of one of her neighbours is found hanging in the lift and more and more residents begin to disappear – including squatter-come-burglar...

The science fiction genre has become almost synonymous with big, Hollywood blockbuster productions, as we rarely see independent British directors attempt such a particular brand of filmmaking. However, Dominic Burns – who brought us How to Stop Being a Loser – ambitiously returns with U.F.O., a film about, you guessed it, a big bloody U.F.O.
We follow the lives of five ordinary people living in Derby who awake one morning to find all electricity and power shut off, and an immense alien aircraft hovering in the air above their heads. Amongst those searching for answers are the hot-headed Michael (Sean Brosnan), his new love interest Carrie (Bianca Bree), and friends Robin (Simon Phillips), Dana (Maya Grant) and Vincent (Jazz Lintott). Suddenly this regular group of friends are battling to survive, as the entire human race is put at threat by the alien army hovering pensively above…
Despite what the title – and poster – may have you believe,...

The question has been answered – we are not alone! Good, now I can finally continue my life! Thanks U.F.O.! Now, in case you’re still wondering what the hell Jean Claude Van Damme is doing on this image, I will give you the answer to that question – he’s fighting against the Aliens in Dominic Burns‘ new sci-fi movie! Today we have a completely new poster and a pretty cool international trailer to share with you, but please guys – try to remain calm!
Well, the truth is that Van Damme is not an important part of the U.F.O. story. He actually stars as a retired military adviser in the movie. But, hey, when your daughter stars as the lead – you have to support her, right?
So, in case you still know nothing about Van Damme’s little girl, we’re here to present you Bianca Bree, who plays a lead role in the movie!

Here’s your first look at footage from brand new British independent movie UFO as we debut the very first trailer to the world!
UFO stars Bianca Bree in her first major film role alongside Sean Brosnan, Julian Glover, Simon Phillips, Sean Pertwee, Andrew Shim, Jazz Lintott, Peter Barratt, Forbes Kb and Maya Grant. There’s also a chap who appears towards the end of the trailer that you may have heard of with the name Jean Claude Van Damme!
As well as the trailer, we’ve also got another new poster for you to join the one we put up over a year ago, both of which I absolutely love! The scale of the film looks epic and I can’t wait to see it in it’s finished form.
Dominic Burns takes the helm as director in the movie which we hope is set to hit cinema screens...

Here’s a rather nice exclusive to start the week as we can announce that Jason Mewes and Roxanne Pallett are to co-lead the forthcoming horror film, Devil’s Tower, currently shooting in Derbyshire.
You’ll know Mewes from his brilliant work in Kevin Smith’s films from the View Askewniverse and Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and seeing him take a leading role in a British movie is a very interesting move.
Pallett has been a long-standing star of Emmerdale, and most recently appeared in the BBC’s Waterloo Road, and this should be a great role for her to break through on the big screen.
Starring alongside them will be the Tony Award-winning Frances Ruffelle (Les Misérables), Jessica Jane Clement (The Real Hustle), Peter Barrett (UFO, Jack Falls), Jazz Lintott (UFO, Airborne), and Emma Buckley (How to Stop Being a Loser), in her first principal role.

We’ve got an exclusive look tonight at some rather fine artwork for Airborne, the latest film from Dominic Burns and it’s an effective tease for what looks to be an intriguing horror film.
Burns has assembled a nicely diverse cast for the film which includes Simon Phillips, Jazz Lintott, Craig Conway, Alan Ford, Billy Murray and Julian Glover as well as the return of Mark Hamill to the big screen.
We spoke to the Star Wars actor last year on set and he was very enthusiastic about the project which lines up nicely alongside Burns’ next film, UFO, which features Jean-Claude Van Damme as part of the cast.
Paul Chronell, writer of last year’s thriller Four, is on scripting duties here and we’ve already had a look at the teaser trailer for the film (which you can see here) and have this as a brief synopsis,...

Writer/director Dominic Burns is gearing up his next flick, which is starting to film soon, called UFO. The alien invasion flick has acquired the help of Jcvd, according to HeyUGuys. Van Damme’s only known excursion into alien territory had been a small attempt at being the Predator in the classic Arnold film from 1987.
Here’s the plot of UFO:
Five friends wake on a seemingly normal morning to find the power’s out, there’s no mobile phone reception and the radio can tune nothing but static… None of the neighbours know anything about what could have caused these occurrences and news soon arrives that it may in fact spread across half of the UK, maybe further. But with no way of discovering any information and no advice on what to do, the atmosphere quickly turns edgy.
Two nights later they are awoken in the dead of night...

UFO is currently shooting in Derbyshire in the UK and we’re told that it’s a mix between Independence Day and Monsters told from the point of view of Signs! Sounds intriguing!
The film’s principle lead is American actress, Bianca Bree and this will be her first major movie. From what we’ve heard she’s one to watch out for as we have it on good authority that she’s...

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the UK horror thriller Airborne for a while now, visiting the set and talking to stars Simon Phillips, Gemma Atkinson and the one and only Mark Hamill.
What we were missing was a chance to take a look at the film itself and now we’ve got our hands on the first official trailer. Director Dominic Burns has put together a fine cast including Jazz Lintott, Craig Conway, Alan Ford, Billy Murray and Julian Glover and the trailer promises a tough, tense ride when the film hits next year.

This week has been completely nuts and I still can’t believe I get to do these things! In the last few days, I got to the Baftas, meet Sir Paul McCartney, have dinner with multiple Hollywood legends and now this evening (or last night by the time you’re reading this), Colin and myself got to go to the set of a new movie which was shooting on the Jumbo Jet which you’ll probably have seen in the background of multiple shots if you’re a fan of the BBC TV show, Top Gear.
Wednesday is actually the day that Top Gear is filmed and as we arrived at the aerodrome in Surrey, there was amass of 200 odd cars leaving the airfield as the Top Gear show had just finished filming for the day. It was quite surreal being the only car going in while everyone else left!
