Exclusive: NBA star and Unanimous Media co-founder Steph Curry and Euphoria actress Storm Reid have teamed up for Bamazing, a new series of short films celebrating women in sports created by female filmmakers.
Curry and Reid kicked off the series by hosting a pitch session with rising female creatives. Emerging filmmakers Jennia Fredrique, Alessia Glidewell and Jeannie Donohoe, who were selected from Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program, shared their ideas and creative treatments for each of their short films. Curry and Reid shared highlights from the workshop in a video posted today on their Youtube channels.

The Bentonville Film Festival (Bff) announced final additions to their programming which includes the world premiere of the Netflix film Good Sam starring Tiya Sircar. The fest, which was co-created by Geena Davis and champions inclusion in all forms of media, has also added spotlight screenings of Gurinder Chadha’s Sundance Springsteen hit Blinded By The Light from New Line Cinema as well as Stx’s animated feature UglyDolls. The 25th Raindance Film Festival (Sept 21 -Oct 2) has revealed the majority of its line-up and jury members.
The international premiere of Atsuko Hirayanagi’s Oh Lucy! (USA), starring Josh Hartnett, is the opening night film of the London-based event. The closing night film will be announced later this month.

Although there’s no shortage of regional film festivals throughout the year, few — if any — are better curated than the Maryland Film Festival. With a slate organized by Director of Programming Eric Allen Hatch, the downtown Baltimore festival, which takes place from May 3-7, offers the finest in independent and international cinema of the past year, as well as some of our most-anticipated world premieres.
