With post-production underway presumably with an eye on a Cannes Film Festival premiere, Olivier Assayas' upcoming (and recently retitled) "Clouds Of Sils Maria" is nearing the finish line. And that means getting the project out there for buyers and that's just what's happening at the European Film Market. And as such, a sales poster has emerged for the film, along with an official synopsis. Starring a pretty solid cast with Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart, Chloë Grace Moretz, Lars Eidinger, Johnny Flynn and Brady Corbet all featuring, the film was spurred by a conversation between Binoche and the director. "I gave a phone call to Olivier Assayas [with the idea], and he wrote a beautiful script. So I brought an idea and he transformed it into his and that was the beauty of it. I gave him a sprout and after that he just went with it," the actress told us in December.

Singing on film has been good to Anne Hathaway: she’s up for an Oscar (and by the time you read this, she may have won it) thanks to her performance in Les Miserables. So she definitely seems keen to keep combining the two by officially signing on to star in Song One.She’s been loosely attached to the film since last May, after she was offered the lead role of a young archaeologist who returns to America from a dig in Morocco when her brother is injured.Helping him recover, she somehow meets his favourite musician –played in the film by Johnny Flynn – and falls in love with the rocker.Kate Barker-Froyland wrote the script and is directing the movie, with a shoot planned for autumn in the States. According to the Mail’s Baz Bamigboye, Flynn (a singer-turned actor) will handle much of the music, but...

Anne Hathaway dreamed a dream ... of singing again! And it looks like that dream is coming true.
The "Les Miserables" star is letting her impressive set of pipes take her places as she's signed on to star (and sing in) "Song One," according to Daily Mail.
"Song One" will feature Hathaway as an archaeologist (why not?) who abandons her dig in Morocco and returns to the States after her brother is injured. Once home, she falls for her brother's favorite musician, to be played by singer-songwriter Johnny Flynn, who (in real life) fronts the folk band Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit.
Johnathan Rice and Jenny Lewis are writing songs for Flynn to perform, with one track being reserved for Hathaway. Lewis recently provided the soundtrack to "Very Good Girls," starring Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning, which screened at the Sundance Film Festival last month.

Anne Hathaway To Keep Singing In 'Song One,' Jenny Lewis & Johnathan Rice Writing Music For The Film
Around this time last year, "Les Misérables" was still a speck in Oscar prognosticators' eyes, but perhaps Anne Hathaway already sensed her pipes would be taking her places. With the actress seen as a virtual lock to take home a statue this weekend, it looks like she wants to keep on singing. Last May, she started eyeing the movie "Song One," a picture she was slated to produce but wasn't yet locked to star in, but it looks like the wheels are in motion and some very interesting talent will helping to put this one together. Baz Bamigboye reports that Hathaway will star in the film, playing an archaeologist (!?) who returns home from Morocco after her brother is injured. She becomes romantically involved with his favorite musician, who in turn draws inspiration from the siblings. So yes, there will be singing, but once again, Hathaway will get just one song...

Director: Alexandra McGuinness Writers: Alexandra McGuinness, Brendan Grant Starring: Antonia Campbell-Hughes, Johnny Flynn, Benn Northover, Cynthia Fortune Ryan In Greek mythology, the lotus-eaters are a race of people from an island near North Africa where narcotic lotus fruits and flowers are the primary food and the inhabitants sleep in peaceful apathy. Odysseus tells us about the lotus-eaters in Odyssey IX, as does Lord Tennyson (in his poem "The Lotos-Eaters") and James Joyce (in the fifth chapter of Ulysses). Writer-director Alexandra McGuinness (the daughter of Paul McGuinness, U2's manager) reveals the modern equivalent of the mythological lotus-eaters: an elite group of 20-something Londoners whose soulless lives consist merely of apathetically shooing away boredom with a 24-hour party of booze, drugs and sex. Money and gainful employment seem to be of no concern for them; their impeccable fashion sense, idyllically good looks and bourgeois pedigree are their tickets to ride. They...

There have been reports of one ticket changing hands for £900. Ian (Jerusalem) Rickson's production of The Children's Hour will be worth that for fans of Keira Knightley and Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss: they'll be in the same arena as two stars who prove they can act off-screen. It isn't worth that as a theatrical experience: neither actor is transcendent; the production – startlingly, as Rickson is habitually both delicate and acute – is listless.
Knightley, last seen on the West End stage playing a Hollywood actress in The Misanthrope, delivers her part – of a bobbed and tweeded 1930s schoolmistress falsely accused of having a lesbian affair – with a fine-boned bleakness. She is restrained and contained, at times to the point of vacancy, making some of her effects by tilting herself in the direction of the audience as if they were her camera.

With his impressive 2008 debut A Larum, Johnny Flynn snuck into the collective consciousness of folk fans, alongside fellow Brit compatriots Mumford And Sons and Laura Marling. With his follow-up, this fall’s Been Listening, Flynn has again produced an achingly lovely pop record all by his lonesome. The hyper-literate songwriter packs a novella’s worth of Shakespearean references, tales of adventure, and advice for the lovelorn into each song. For anyone older or less charming, it might read as bravado, but on Flynn, it comes off as aw-shucks exuberance, a kind of wide-eyed wonderment that’s actually refreshing. Flynn ...
