“Ek Villain” is an Indian romantic action thriller film directed by Mohit Suri. It’s loosely based on the successful Korean movie “I Saw the Devil”, directed by Kim Jee-woon and both are based on the original story written by Park Hoon-jung. For “Ek Villain”, Tushar Hiranandani has adapted Park Hoon-jung’s the original story and by keeping some essential elements of the original screenplay, but at the same time by altering other key details, makes “Ek Villain” to deviate from the movie “I saw the Devil”.
“Ek Villain”‘s story follows Guru (Sidharth Malhotra), a former gangster who in the past worked for Caeser (Remo Fernandes) but now leaves his past behind and starts a new life with his wife Aisha Verma (Shraddha Kapoor). Unfortunately, at the very beginning of his new life, while Aisha is calling Guru, an intruder in hood attacks her in their new home,...

Dhadak
Starring Ishaan Khatter, Janhavi Kapoor
Directed by Shashank Khaitan
Like all great love stories Dhadak ends as a tragedy. Which is not to say that it is a great love story. Replicating, almost echoing all the conventions of a love-at-first-sight-doom-at-a-later-stage yarn Dhadak makes all the right noises (includes a super-melodious title song) and is still unable to create a concordant musical symphony.
A film about honour killing, it is aptly an honourable failure, giving us some of what is desirable, but largely leaving much to be desired.
What goes wrong? Well, for one this Karan Johar production has resolved to do a Kuch Kuch Hota Hai on Sairat, the hardhitting Marathi film on which Dhadak is based. The remake extracts all the juice from the original and then squanders it in irrelevant plot conversions. The changes made in the original made no sense to me.

Directed by Mohit Suri
You can accuse Chetan Bhagat’s novels of being lots things from silly to shallow. But you can never fault them for their entertainment value.
Director Mohit Suri known to make cinema on compulsive love (Aashiqui 2, Ek Adhuri Kahaani) takes the theme of self-annihilation in a romantic association to the extreme, bringing out his hero, a Bihari non-English medium type in Delhi who falls for a girl much higher than her heels and his social status, as a love-struck wimp obsessed with his object of adoration to the point of complete self-ruination.
This was how Chetan Bhagat meant his novel to be. The man-woman equation was seen in the light of status and social standing and then judged within the parameters of a heart-to-heart connection. Director Suri amplifies the theme of love between unequals. The complications are frail and far-fetched.

That accidents and mishaps happen on a film's shoot is by now a known thing. The recent accident took place near Haji Ali, Mumbai, on the sets of Mohit Suri's The Villain, which stars Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor. It so happened that for filming an action sequence of the film, the unit guys had got an industrial crane, which broke suddenly. Luckily, no one was hurt. But the only person who suffered some minor injuries was the film's DoP Vishnu Rao, who was then rushed to Breach Candy Hospital, where he got an X-ray taken and is being treated upon. Talking about the incident, Tanuj Garg (CEO- Balaji Telefilms) said that the reason behind the unfortunate incident is immaterial to discuss at this stage. He added that it's nice to know that everyone is safe. Meanwhile, Mohit Suri tweeted, "Completed shooting the climax despite the mishap on set.
