If I’m honest I’d forgotten all about the Moto Racer franchise and with good reason, it’s been over 15 years since the third game was released (although there was apparently a Nintendo DS version of the game from the same developers as this). Since then motor racing games have come a long way – be it as side-scrolling stunt games a la Trials HD; or more arcade titles like Mx vs. Atv, another survivor of the PS2 era that has been resurrected (somewhat successfully, at least in terms of gameplay) by Thq Nordic; and even motorbike simulations like Ride 2 and Valentino Rossi: The Game – which means Moto Racer 4 has a lot of ground to cover.

Flashback and Future Wars creator Paul Cuisset is set to return with a new adventure game called Subject 13...
News
We're not ashamed to admit that we're old enough to remember spending hours on French game designer Paul Cuisset's work from the 80s and 90s. Future Wars was a point-and-click adventure which took an ordinary window cleaner on a sci-fi adventure through time and space. Flashback was a side-scrolling action game with the slick presentation and atmosphere of a Hollywood blockbuster like Total Recall.
Cuisset's other games also included Cruise For A Corpse, Fade To Black and Moto Racer. His most recent game as director, however, was the critically-derided survival horror game, Amy, from 2012.
Nevertheless, we're excited to learn about Subject 13, which sounds like a return to the sort of games Cuisset was making in the 90s; it's an adventure game, for one thing, and like Flashback, its science fiction...

Delphine classic, Flashback, returns to modern consoles in HD form, but is it still a sci-fi epic?
Before I begin, let me first clarify one fact, I love Flashback. It's one of my favourite retro titles, and to this day I remember my first adventure with Conrad B Hart when it arrived back in 1992. The superb rotoscoped animation, the alien invasion story, the impressive cut scenes and the atmosphere all stuck with me, and my first trip to New Washington will be a gaming moment I'll never forget. It was amazing, pure and simple.
Flash forward some 20-odd years and we have this new, HD remake of the game. This is no fan made homage or a reboot given to a new development team, oh no. Paul Cuisset and some of the original team are responsible for bringing the game back to the masses in HD form.

Just to set the record straight, I was born the year that the original Flashback was released. Needless to say, I can’t say I ever played the classic sci-fi game, so I came into this remake blind. All I knew was that it was a side-scrolling platformer that was known for its unique story and decent gameplay. Luckily, the original version is added to this package, meaning you can revisit if you’re a fan or experience it for the first time if you’re not. We’ll come back to that, though.
The remade version is the meat and potatoes of this downloadable release, and it’s been updated in a huge way. Fans are probably wondering whether or not these updates are a good thing and if they do justice to the original game. The answer? How much you like this version all depends on how much...

The remake of Flashback is headed our way this summer, and here's a making of video to bring back those memories...
Did you know that Flashback was originally conceived as a videogame adaptation of The Godfather? Well, according to the game's creator, Paul Cuisset, that's where the game came from, but it soon turned into something very different, and a classic was born.
Now, Flashback is being remade, but this isn't a simple HD refashion, and the new version will include new gameplay mechanics and updated features, all still retaining the original game's core feel.
Hover bike chases and a sparkly new HD paint job aside, the controls have been smoothed out to accommodate more intuitive action, and Conrad can now aim in a 360 arc. This will, according to Cuisset, eliminate the limited combat seen in the original.

The Delphine sci-fi classic, Flashback, is returning to current gen consoles...
Talking to Polygon, Flashback's original developer, Paul Cuisset, has revealed that he and his new team, VectorCell, are working on a remake of the 1992 title, and it's going to be published by Ubisoft.
A descendant of the Rotoscoping technology that created stable-mate classic, Prince of Persia, Flashback featured a Total Recall-inspired storyline that followed Conrad B. Hart on a mission to reclaim his lost memory, and to stop an alien invasion.
The re-imaging will stick closely to the original game, but will add new features that simply weren't possible before. As well as a skill-based levelling system, the game will feature a new aiming system allowing Conrad to shoot in all directions, other control tweaks, and a deeper, expanded story. It'll also include new gameplay sections, such as a hover bike chase,...

The 90s classic Flashback is being remade with lots of polygons and textures. Here's the first trailer...
For its time, Delphine Software's Flashback was properly cinematic. With its 2D platforming action overlaid with sumptuous rotoscoped animation, a theme tune which, at the time, sounded worthy of a Hollywood sci-fi flick, and a compelling storyline, it was about as close as the 16-bit generation got to its own Uncharted.
Perhaps we can forgive developer Vector Cell, then, for making hero Conrad B Hart look remarkably like Naughty Dog's hero Nathan Drake - Conrad was hanging from platforms and shooting bad guys while Nathan was still watching Muppet Babies, after all.
Besides, the newly announced Flashback HD remake has more than just nostalgia to link it back to the 1992 original. Designer Paul Cuisset, along with several other members of the Delphine team, reunited to create a Flashback for the current generation.

The Delphine classic, Flashback, could be set to return in HD if rumours are true…
Back in the days of the Atari St, Commodore Amiga and 16-bit consoles like the Snes and Mega Drive, there was a very well respected development house called Delphine Software International. Responsible for the excellent Another World (Out Of This World in the Us), and older classics like Operation Stealth, Future Wars and Cruise for a Corpse, the company produced some truly groundbreaking stuff, well, apart from Shaq Fu, which was just plain awful.
Perhaps one of the most successful Delphine titles to emerge from the studio was Flashback. Similar in some ways to Another World, but more refined and complex, the title bore a strong similarity to the story of Total Recall, in that you played Conrad B. Hart, a man stranded on an Titan with no memory of his identity.

Paul Cuisset is a living legend, formerly of now-defunct French developer Delphine Software and creator of the landmark action-adventure game Flashback: The Quest for Identity and the Playstation era racer Moto Racer (he also had a hand in the dismal fighting game Shaq Fu, but we'll gloss over that for now). When it was announced that Cuisset's new studio, Vector Cell, was putting his touch on the survival horror genre with Amy, there was little doubt in my mind that this was going to be another fantastic feather for Cuisset's cap. The reality, however, is a very different story. Amy is the story of a woman named Lana, who has liberated the eponymous Amy from a research center where she underwent...

Minor flap over the price difference between regions leads the developer VectorCell and publisher Lexis Numérique to offer fans the opportunity to vote how much the upcoming downloadable survival game will cost.
It all started when the pricing for Amy was announced for Psn and Xbla in the U.S.: 800 Ms Points ($10) and $12.99 for Psn. Apparently, Amy will cost about €10 in the EU while maintaining its 800 Ms Point price, with the Psn price representing the exchange rate between the Euro and the dollar.
Some fans were still a little put off by the price difference between regions and so the publisher and developer decided to hold a little poll. While they've set up a Facebook voting page, Amy is now listed at £7.99 on the game's official site, and you have until January 9th to weigh in on whether the Psn version gets a cross-regional price drop, bringing the U.

Lexis Numérique have today unveiled a new behind the scenes featurette for Amy, the survival horror game developed by a team headed by industry veteran Paul Cuisset (creator of the classic Flashback), who appears in the video talking about tech and visual effects used to build the game.
The game takes place in December 2034 when the gradual effects of global warming have spread diseases and natural disasters around the world. Amid this bleak scenario, the small town of Silver City in the USA’s Midwest suffers a near cataclysmic incident when it is stuck by an unidentified ‘comet’ from outer space. When lead character Lana regains consciousness, her world has descended into mayhem. Violent outbursts, fury, rage, wreckage and death; the world she knew seems to have become a living hell. As if struck by a mysterious virus, most of the people she once knew have now become part of a wild horde.

A couple months back we brought you word of an upcoming survival horror title called "Amy" from VectorCell and "Flashback" creator Paul Cuisset. The initial announcement actually revealed quite a few details about the PlayStation Network-exclusive survival horror game, but a new press release brings added backstory to what we already know.
"Amy" is set in December 2034, in the middle American town of Silver City. Humanity has recently been left decimated after a comet hits the Earth and a deadly virus is unleashed that spreads everywhere quickly.
Players control Lana, who wakes up after the tragedy strikes, and quickly discovers that her former friends and neighbors have turned into an uncontrolled mob of diseased killers. Lana herself begins to feel the effects, but she is driven to carry on after she meets a young girl named Amy.
Amy is eight years old, and she is autistic, but she is in posession of some "curious powres.

Survival horror/adventure game Amy is the latest video game from Paul Cuisset, the French creator of classic titles such as Flashback and the Moto Racer series, and his VectorCell game studio – who have released two suitably creepy looking screenshots from the Psn release:

A fair number of you readers are probably too young to remember the original release of "Flashback," the 1992 adventure game that continues to live on today in a recent iOS port. Cuisset and his team are currently working on their next effort, a PlayStation Network release called "Amy" which looks to combine survival horrifying with the equally dreadful task of babysitting.
A slew of details on "Amy" were released today in a fact sheet. The story is set in 2034; global warming is in full swing, disease and natural disasters are tearing the world apart and the small Midwest town of Silver City has just been rocked by a comet that touched down nearby.
