One of the most dazzling events to kick start the Times of India Film Awards was the opening night’s Musical Extravaganza held Thursday night at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. Hosted by the peppy and energetic Neha Dhupia, the concert featured Sunidhi Chauhan, Mohit Chauhan, Hard Kaur, Shalmali Kholgade, Abbas Hassan, and Kavita Seth. It was an evening full of wild flames, wonderful dancing, but felt rather improvisatory and rushed.
The event started a full half an hour late, which you can naturally forgive given the amount of prepwork that goes into pulling off such a huge event. When we hit the show running, choreographer Shiamak Davar decided on the unconventional route and sang his signature tune, ‘Jaane Kisne’. Instead of bringing out his troupe, Davar sang his tune around the stage alongside two dancers conveying that yearning and hope to the seductive beat. Davar can hold a tune...

2012 saw many entertaining and powerful films surfacing from Bollywood, which have acquired both critical and commercial recognition. A number of them have now been nominated for the prestigious Filmfare Awards, which are considered to be Bollywood’s equivalent to the Oscars. It feels like only yesterday that the last Filmfare Awards took place!
This year is very, very special, since 2013 marks 100 years of Indian cinema. Filmfare are aware of this and have ensured that this year’s award trophies are in gold in order to mark this once in a lifetime occasion. Some of the films which have garnered nominations thoroughly deserve it and we hope that they will go onto win big at the 58th ceremony, which officially takes place at Yash Raj Films Studios on 20th January 2013.
Bollyspice would like to congratulate all the nominees, whose hard work and determination to entertain the audiences has secured them a Filmfare nomination.

From the fun and exciting promos, Cocktail looks like a good romantic comedy that looks to appeal across the board. Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and debutante Diana Penty are the friends caught in ménage a trois of friendship and love in London. What caught everyone’s attention was some of that arresting music by Pritam that made sure ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’ stuck with you, and left you wanting to hear more. Pritam has also borrowed Honey Singh’s brilliant track ‘Angreji Beat’ which doesn’t come with the album, but the album would be incomplete without such a fabulous tune! Coming off a strong year of good and fun albums like Agent Vinod, and Ferrari ki Sawaari, Pritam definitely impresses here, and he can definitely be counted on to deliver some good songs for a romantic comedy like this one.

Tumhi Ho Bandhu is one of our favorite tracks from Cocktail. Pritam’s music and Irshad Kamil’s lyrics combine well to deliver a fun song with a lot of repeat value. Hear it once, and you will be hooked. Two very talented singers Neeraj Shridhar and Kavita Seth have lent their voice. Also, what really stands out in Tumhi Ho Bandhu is the Read More...

The lady with the mellifluous voice that resonates with huskiness, a burning passion and power — that’s how Sufi singer Kavita Seth is described by her fans. Just put on her award-winning Iktara track from Wake Up Sid in your car during the rush hour, and you’ll not just forgive the crazy driver honking in an off-beat taal to overtake you, but even flash a killer smile at the young biker racing past you to show off his new machine.
