"Yesterday (just in time for the Olympic Opening Ceremonies) @bradyquinn and I welcomed our little blessing of a daughter into the world," she shared on Instagram with the first photo of her daughter. "Sloan Scott Quinn 6lbs 5 oz and 20.5 inches long!" Husband Brady Quinn also shared a few candid photos of his growing family in a thoughtful post Saturday morning. "Been called a lot of things in my life... Can't imagine there is anything greater than being called 'Dad,'" he shared...

Congratulations! There's a new official athletic power couple on the scene, Olympic gymnast Alicia Sacramone and quarterback Brady Quinn! The two tied the knot over the weekend in an intimate ceremony in front of close friends and family at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Fl. Sacramone and Quinn have been dating since 2007 and confirmed that they were engaged late last summer. Both Sacramone and Quinn have managed to keep their relationship out of the public eye for the most part, and they tried to keep their wedding under wraps as well. The football star wore a gray suit for the big day, while the bride opted for a stunning lace gown that fit her like a glove. She wore...

You might be the world's biggest Olympics fan, with plans to slip into your Michael Phelps pajamas and eat British food while you watch round-the-clock coverage of the upcoming London games. You may have memorized every storyline, every rivalry, every favorite and underdog determined to take home the gold.
But according to the Olympians themselves, there's still plenty you don't know about them. Recently, they opened up on the top-secret hobbies, fears and second careers that show there's much more to them than meets the eye.
Betsey Armstrong is a Water Polo whiz, having won the silver medal at the Beijing Summer Games in 2008. But according to her, it's an unlikely hobby that helps her reach such heights. "You might be surprised to know that I am an avid yoga attendee," she revealed.

We’re sure you always read Espn The Magazine’s annual Body Issue, on newsstands today, for the articles.* But this year, you really might. There’s a juicy feature by Sam Alipour on life in the Olympic Village titled ”Will you still medal in the morning?” It’s not news that there tends to be a lot of sex happening when you put the world’s top athletes together with a need to blow off steam. That’s why the village clinic will have a reported 100,000 condoms on hand. But it’s always fun to read about. The Top 10 quotes from the feature,...

As Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Dominique Moceanu puts it, "there's always guaranteed elation, heartache and drama at the Olympic trials." That much was proven on Sunday night as the country's top gymnasts competed for the chance to represent the U.S.A. at the 2012 Olympic Games. Moceanu talked to People on her way home from the trials, which left her feeling very optimistic about the country's chances in London. The team gold medal "is theirs to win, absolutely," says Moceanu. "Without a doubt, I think it's theirs. But it's a matter of who's going to be healthy, emotionally and physically,...

Nastia Liukin's fall from grace was sudden, literal and heartbreaking on Sunday. But the 2008 Olympic individual all-around gymnastics champion was feeling grateful even in defeat as she failed to make the U.S. team for the London Olympic Games later this month. "Thank you to the 18,000 people that gave me a standing ovation tonight. I will remember this moment for the rest of my life," Liukin, 22, wrote on Twitter of the emotional outpouring from fans following a disastrous uneven-bars routine at the U.S. Olympic Trials in which she fell face down on the mat. "Overwhelmed by the love and support.

Jordyn Wieber was darn near perfect her first night at the U.S. women's gymnastics team trials, finishing in first place with a score of 61.7 points - an average of 15.425 on the four events, which is very high. Barring some kind of catastrophe on Sunday, July 1 during the second day of trials, Wieber is headed to London.
But will she get the automatic bid, which only goes to the first-place finisher? It's not a lock. Gabby Douglas is right on her heels with a 61.4 and that comes after an uncharacteristic falter on the uneven bars.
Past those two, who were generally considered locks for the Olympics before the trials even began, sits Aly Raisman, though she is at 60.2. Elizabeth Price also had a very solid night, finishing in fourth place, and so did Kyla Ross, who ended up in fifth. It remains to be seen if any other gymnasts crack that group of five.

The 2012 U.S. women's gymnastics trials get underway Friday night (June 29) in San Jose, Calif., where head coach Martha Karolyi will choose the team for the London Summer Games. The girl who finishes first in the individual all-around scoring will automatically qualify and the remaining four spots (plus up to three alternates) will be chosen by Karolyi, Steve Rybacki and 2004 Olympian Terin Humphrey.
This is a departure from the size of the past Olympic squads. Up until the year 2000, seven girls made the team. Then from 2000-2008, it was six. Now it's down to just five - a particularly hard number to whittle down to this year because the team is so deep. In fact, it has been speculated the U.S. could field two teams of five girls that could both compete for a medal at the Olympics.

The 2012 Visa Championships for women's gymnastics took place over the weekend and Marta Karolyi, the National Team Coordinator for USA gymnastics, has now chosen which girls will compete in the Olympic trials in just under three weeks.
Jordyn Wieber won the Visa national title with a final score of 121.9, narrowly beating out Gabby Douglas, who had a 121.7 after a fall on the beam took a full point off her score on that event. The top 8 women automatically get to compete at the Olympic trials and they are as follows:
1. Wieber, 121.9 points
2. Douglas, 121.7
3. Ali Raisman, 120.95
4. Kyla Ross, 119.95
5. Elizabeth Price, 118.1
6. Sarah Finnegan, 117.6
7. (tie) Kennedy Baker, 114.45, (tie) Sabrina Vega, 114.45
In addition to the top eight finishers, Karolyi has invited the 9th- and 10th-place finishers to the trial, Brenna Dowell and Bridget Sloan, plus event specialists Rebecca Bross, Anna Li, Nastia Liukin and Alicia Sacramone. They also accepted McKayla Maroney's petition and have invited...

Things have been better on the sports front for elite athlete couple Brady Quinn and Alicia Sacramone. Quinn, a backup quarterback for the Denver Broncos, watched as fellow backup (and fan favorite) Tim Tebow got to play in Sunday's game against San Diego. And Sacramone, a captain for the U.S. silver medal-winning women's gymnastics team, tore her Achilles tendon last week while training for the world championships in Tokyo. But at least they have each other. "Best boyfriend award goes to @BQ9 for taking the red eye from Denver to be here for my surgery today," Sacramone Tweeted Monday.

Alicia Sacramone, one of the darlings of the U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team, has given out the Best Boyfriend Award to her significant other, Denver Broncos back-up quarterback Brady Quinn. Sacramone tweets:
"Best boyfriend award goes to @BQ9 for taking the red eye from Denver to be here for my surgery today...just another reason why I love him."
The surgery Sacramone speaks of is because of a ruptured Achilles tendon she suffered while preparing for the World Championships. But it sounds like everything is going well - she tweeted 10 hours after her Brady tweet, "Surgery went well, Dr. Anderson is the absolute best!"
Sacramone won't be tumbling in the Worlds, the final rounds of which are currently taking place in Tokyo, but as the U.S. women were in first place after the qualifying round, she may be spotted on the floor in London in 2012.

She's an international soccer star, an Olympic gold medalist and Maksim Chmerkovskiy's dream partner on Dancing with the Stars. Just don't call her sexy. "I still don't buy the idea that I'm a sex symbol," Solo, 30, tells Espn magazine in its annual Body Issue, in which she and a slew of other top athletes pose nude. "Sure, I've had marriage proposals, invitations to military balls and prom offers," she says. "But my entire purpose is trying to be the best, and if that exudes beauty too … it means the image of the typical female body type is finally evolving.

Athletes have been announced for Espn Magazine's "The Body Issue," which has athletes naked but strategically posed. I'm not a big expert on how famous these people are, but gymnast Alicia Sacramone, snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, soccer goalie Hope Solo, the NBA's Blake Griffin, Mlb's Jose Reyes, the NFL's Steven Jackson and hockey player Ryan Kesler made the list.
Whitman-Walker Health and the Mautner Project have announced a joint program for Glbt seniors called People Advocating for Lgbt Seniors (Pals) to address the needs of aging members of our community.
Disney Channel has gone to the dogs, literally, with Dog With a Blog about a talking, blogging canine. Hrmm. I wonder if he'd be willing to do a column for AfterElton.com
The Art of Habit is playing in Washington, D.C., and a familiar face is starring as Tim, an actor who isn't afraid to strip down to make a scene work.
