The world of Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan novels is set to come alive in the anime adaptation of the popular book series. The Leviathan anime released its first teaser trailer today showcasing what Christophe Ferreira has been working on at anime studio Orange for a release on Netflix in 2025. Golf-themed anime Oi! Tonbo returns for a second season this fall, bringing with it a new setting and new characters! Today, we meet two new characters who will debut when the action moves to Kumamoto Prefecture. Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman in Attack on Titan ) will play Hinoki Otoha, Tonbo's new rival. Ishikawa describes Hinoki as "earnest and kind," but constantly under pressure due to her father's expectations. Marina Inoue (who also starred in Attack on Titan as Armin Arlelt) plays Ema Kurisu. A former champion golfer, she suffered a serious injury and disappeared from the public eye. Ten years after her win, she is competing once again and now plays left-handed. Soon after the broadcast of the 13th episode in Japan on June 29, the official website for the golf-themed TV anime Oi! Tonbo announced that its second season is scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2024. According to the site, the new season's story is set in Kumamoto Prefecture. Tonbo has confirmed that it is set to premiere in Japan on April 6, 2024. The site has also released a new clip to announce the premiere date, with the same trailer as the previously released one, plus messages from the two main voice cast members. Rika Hayashi , who is cast as the protagonist girl, Tonbo Oi, says, " My first impression of Tonbo was that she is a powerful girl who lives a stretched life. We’ve got a brand new trailer to share with you for Netflix’s upcoming Ultraman anime series! The series is an adaptation of the manga by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shiguchi, which serves as a sequel to the original 1966 Ultraman series. During their Anime Lineup Presentation event at the Akiba Theatre in Tokyo today, Netflix unveiled their slate of Anime programming for 2019.
The new lineup is an expansion of their successful original Anime programming which includes Devilman Crybaby and B: the Beginning. Netflix announced that they would be revisiting some of the most beloved stories that many Anime fans already know and love, including Ultraman, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac.
The news comes after Netflix made their first-ever Asia showcase earlier this month where they announced the addition of Pacific Rim, Altered Carbon, Cagaster of an Insect Cage, Yasuke, and Trese to their anime slate. The slate continues Netflix’s global reach when it comes to original content, telling stories from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and South Korea.

Hollywood’s sound pros nominated Birdman and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes for three awards apiece as the Motion Picture Sound Editors unveiled nods for its 62nd Mpse Golden Reel Awards, honoring the best feature film, television, animation and computer entertainment work of the year.
