At the beginning of Monday's "Colbert Report," Stephen Colbert gave it up for someone near and dear to his heart, longtime White House correspondent Helen Thomas, who died this weekend. (Remember, she played a part in his infamous White House Correspondents' Dinner speech.)
Then, he had some fun at the expense of Geraldo Rivera, who tweeted a near-nude photo of himself this weekend. "As Geraldo wrote on his Twitter feed, 70 is the new 50. And if there's one thing people want to see on their Twitter feed, it's 50-year-old men."...

Stephen Colbert is emotionally torn. He opened Monday night's "Colbert Report" ecstatic over the royal baby news, but then he shifted to sadness over the passing of White House reporter Helen Thomas. Of course, both points along the circle of life soon gave way to a mostly naked Geraldo Rivera, which Colbert speculates was the journalist's personal tribute to the late Thomas. "Though come to think of it, that might not have been a tribute to Helen," Colbert said. "That may have been what killed her." See video: BBC's Royal Baby News: There's No Royal...

Helen Thomas, known as “Queen of the White House Press Corps,” died this weekend at the age of 92. A longtime journalist who gave new meaning to the words “longtime journalist,” she started covering White House politics in the final days of the Eisenhower administration, and lasted all the way through the first few years of President Obama’s term. For five decades (and 10 presidents), she usually sat front and center at press conferences in the White House Briefing Room, and as the leaders of the free world called on her, they steeled themselves as she asked the toughest ...

Helen Thomas, the bulldog in the White House press corp for nine different presidential administrations, has died at the age of 92. Friend Muriel Dobbin tells the AP that Thomas died in her apartment in Washington D.C. after having been in and out of the hospital.
Thomas was the first female White House bureau chief for a wire service when she was named to the position by United Press International in 1974. She was also the first female officer at the once-men-only National Press Club.
Thomas was never shy about voicing her opinions and eventually that is what ended her career. A video went viral in 2010 that showed Thomas saying the Israelis should get out of Palestine and "go home" to Germany, Poland or the U.S.
Prior to that, she criticized President George W. Bush to his face about the Iraq war and told an autograph seeked that she was...

Helen Thomas, the irrepressible White House correspondent who used her seat in the front row of history to grill nine presidents - often to their discomfort - and was not shy about sharing her opinions, died Saturday. She was 92. Thomas, who died at her apartment in Washington, had been ill for a long time, and in and out of the hospital before coming home Thursday, according to a friend, Muriel Dobbin. Thomas made her name as a bulldog for United Press International in the great wire-service rivalries of old, and as a pioneer for women in journalism. She was persistent to the point of badgering.

If you thought former White House reporter Helen Thomas might want to apologize for the comments she made last year suggesting Jews "go home" to Germany and Poland and "get the Hell out of Palestine," well, she's fine with what she said. In fact, in her first big television interview since the controversy, she seemed to double down, angrily defending the content of what she said about Palestine.

Black Panther is one of the many comic book properties that Marvel Studios has been eyeing for the big screen adaptation for a while now. It looks like they are becoming more serious about developing the comic into a feature film. According to THR [1], Marvel Studios has hired documentary story editor and screenwriter Mark Bailey to write the big screen adaptation. Bailey seems like an odd choice, especially considering he has no fictional feature film experience. His filmography includes movies like Thank You, Mr. President: Helen Thomas at the White House, Pandemic: Facing AIDS and A Boy's Life. He just got done writing a big screen adaptation of the non-fiction book The Last of the Tribe: The Epic Quest to Save a Lone Man in the Amazon, which Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) is currently attached to direct. The Black Panther is considered the first modern Black superhero. Created by...
