The first trailer for Netflix’s Enola Holmes dropped earlier today, and while it looks like the latest in a long line of the streaming service’s perfectly acceptable and completely unspectacular mid-budget original movies, the title character has already been dislodged as the mystery thriller’s main talking point.
Despite boasting Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in her first-ever leading role in a feature-length film, the internet’s attention almost immediately shifted onto Henry Cavill, who squeezes his massive frame into a tweed ensemble as Sherlock Holmes. No stranger to spawning memes having reloaded his own arms in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and grunted his way through The Witcher while also delivering the contractually-obligated shirtless scenes, fans now can’t get enough of his take on the literary icon, and you can check out some of the reactions below.

We are days away from Marvel taking the coveted dais of Hall H to give us news on what we hope is Phase 4 of their wildly expansive — and box office record-breaking — Marvel Cinematic Universe. Arguably one of the most anticipated announcements is who would be playing the lead in Shang-Chi, which will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Dave Callaham (both of Asian heritage). It would be the first Asian-fronted superhero film from a major U.S. studio.
In addition to Shang-Chi, the comic book movie powerhouse has tapped The Rider‘s Chloe Zhao to direct The Eternals and Kumail Nanjiani is circling a role in that film. Over at DC, the Harley Quinn spinoff Birds of Prey will be helmed by Cathy Yan, with Ella Jay Basco starring as Cassandra Cain. DC may not be in San Diego for Comic-Con this year, but with Marvel in the room,...

They're all pretty positive. Who woulda thunk it?
The first reactions to the very last McU instalment of 2019 are in and, shocking no one, they're mostly gushing.
While we'll have to wait to see Spider-Man: Far From Home for ourselves when July finally shows up with whatever tiresome weather it has in store trailing behind it like a mischievous shadow creature, press screenings have very much been underway, showcasing Peter Parker's second solo movie spawned from the ongoing partnership between Sony and Marvel.
What does a post-Endgame world look like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? We're about to find out.
Homecoming's Jon Watts returns to direct Tom Holland as a less neighborhood-based Spidey on a school trip to Europe, where Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury collars him and asks him to "step up" and help save the world from a mysterious gang of villains called the Elementals.

Get me reactions on Spider-Man! The early takes on “Spider-Man: Far From Home” — the follow-up to “Spider-Man: Homecoming” — say that the film delivers the necessary amount of humor, charm, romance and even closure following the events of “Avengers: Endgame.”
“#SpiderManFarFromHome is the coda we needed after ‘Endgame,’ a glimpse of how the world looks now that the dust has settled,” Mashable’s Angie Han says on Twitter. “Could maybe have gone a bit harder on P’s emotional arc, but bursting with warmth and humor and awkward teen romance. Also: Jake G = perfect casting.”
“#Spiderman #FarFromHome is Such a good movie! Jake Gyllenhaal suits up & completely embraces his role in its entirety & he’s clearly having a blast,” writer Maude Garrett tweeted. “This is such a refreshing film after the heaviness of #EndGame. The post-credit scenes are a Must Watch & will blow your dang mind!”

The summer blockbuster season is now well and truly underway.
Every week, it seems like there’s a new major release begging for our attention, with the sharp-suited, rebooted Men In Black: International opening last weekend to underwhelming numbers and Dark Phoenix limping into theaters shortly before that, to name just a few. But while those two blockbusters may have been disappointing, let it be known that some of Hollywood’s biggest studios are about to drop their cinematic juggernauts.
For instance, next month sees the arrival of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the standalone sequel which will explore a post-Endgame world that’s still reeling from the death of Tony Stark. It’s a pivotal moment in the McU timeline, so it’s no wonder that fans are waiting with bated breath to lay eyes on Tom Holland’s second solo outing in the franchise.

There’s a moment in the first trailer for “Sonic the Hedgehog” where the iconic, speedy blue hedgehog looks in terror as he first comes in contact with James Marsden. That look has been speeding around the internet to describe how people are reacting to the teaser that dropped on Tuesday.
The CGI character design for the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog has not been received warmly online. Sonic’s look has been compared to Mike Myers in the live-action “The Cat in the Hat,” to the Woody Woodpecker live-action movie made for a fraction of the budget, or to that kid who turns into a werewolf in Robin Williams’ “Jumanji.”
“After watching that ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ trailer I would like to formally announce that I am no longer a furry,” comedian Daniel Howell said in a particularly brutal tweet.
