Before "Salem's Lot" returned to the zeitgeist with a highly-anticipated reboot movie, the Stephen King classic was a miniseries that shook the world. Directed by "Texas Chain Saw Massacre" mastermind Tobe Hooper, the two-part 1979 series was event TV at its spookiest.
The original "Salem's Lot" limited series has never been among the best King adaptations out there, but it holds a unique place in pop culture history thanks to its status as one of the earliest on-screen takes on a King book — plus some truly frightening moments. Several members of the show's sprawling ensemble cast, including David Soul, James Mason, Lance Kerwin, and vamp actor Reggie Nalder, have passed away in the decades since "Salem's Lot" first beamed its way into our collective consciousness. Of the actors who are still with us, several have gone on to award-winning careers in film and television, while others retired or found fulfillment in other careers.

After 12 seasons, Curb Your Enthusiasm has come to a close. Seinfeld co-creator Larry David played a curmudgeonly version of himself for 120 episodes of the semi-improvised cringe comedy, which was nominated for 47 Emmy Awards over the course of its run.
But all good things must come to an end, which Curb Your Enthusiasm did in April of 2024. Luckily, one of Cye’s stars has a perfect replacement series on Netflix.
Smoove Move
Jb Smoove played Leon Black in Cye for the last half of the series. He was introduced in season 6 as the brother of Larry’s love interest Loretta Black.
After Hurricane Katrina destroys her home, single mom Loretta moves her family in with Larry. Leon ends up tagging along with his sister (even though he already lived in LA and was unaffected by the hurricane), and sticks around to be Larry’s roommate even after Loretta leaves.

Netflix’s Good Times reboot has drawn ire from audiences and national organizations such as the NAACP for its perceived stereotypical depictions of African Americans since its trailer was first released on March 27. That same day, a Change.org petition, which has gathered some 5,000 signatures, was launched calling on viewers to boycott the new show which “promotes violence, culture destruction of the Black community and alcohol abuse,” the creator of the petition wrote.
Showrunner Ranada Shepard understands the knee-jerk reaction.
“You haven’t seen J.B. [Smoove] and Yvette [Nicole Brown] and Marsai [Martin] and Jay Pharoah and Slink Johnson on couches all across America, which typically happens when you’re rolling out a show. There was no framing that the audience had, it was just: Watch this and form an opinion. And, they watched and they formed an opinion,” Shepard tells THR in the conversation below.

The organization that hands out college football’s prestigious Heisman Trophy on Wednesday reinstated its 2005 award to USC running back Reggie Bush, an abrupt reversal by the group after one of college football’s most electric players of his era had the honor stripped from him in 2010 amid a wave of sanctions placed against the university by the NCAA.
Bush, who went on to play in the NFL and a career in sports broadcasting, had been increasingly vocal about getting his trophy back in recent years, saying he did nothing improper amid allegations that he and his family received improper benefits during his time at the Los Angeles university. As part of the sanctions, USC was stripped of its 2004 national championship and banned from playing in bowl games for two years.

Yvette Nicole Brown Defends Good Times Role, Insists ‘Edgy’ Netflix Reboot ‘Lines Up With My Values’
Yvette Nicole Brown is content to let the Good Times roll, pushing back against criticism of her involvement with Netflix’s reboot of the sitcom.
Dropping Friday, April 12, the forthcoming Good Times follow-up is an animated — and, as evidenced by Wednesday’s trailer, a noticeably raunchier — take on the 1970s classic, centered on the latest generation of the Evans family. Brown voices Beverly Evans, the wife of cab driver Reggie (J.B. Smoove), and she’s taken to social media to call out fans questioning her participation in the new series.

As Benjamin Franklin famously wrote, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”
The horror genre offers a controlled environment in which viewers can reflect on their own morality, whether it be via catharsis or escapism, but a personal loss can complicate one’s relationship with horror. Even the most hardened of fans may struggle to find comfort in the genre after experiencing the death of a loved one.
45 years ago today, Phantasm helped viewers confront death head-on while subtly exploring the grief that accompanies it. In the film, 13-year-old Mike (A. Michael Baldwin) convinces his older brother-turned-guardian Jody (Bill Thornbury) and their affable neighborhood ice cream man, Reggie (Reggie Bannister), to investigate a mysterious mortician dubbed The Tall Man (Angus Scrimm).

This isn’t the Good Times of your childhood.
Yvette Nicole Brown, who voices the character of Beverly Evans in the new animated version of Good Times for Netflix, promises it will be an “edgier, more irreverent” reboot of Norman Lear‘s groundbreaking TV sitcom.
After one of Brown’s followers wrote on X Wednesday that “I’m surprised you attached yourself to this project. Looks nothing like the show we grew up on,” Brown responded with a promise that the reboot will offer as much, if not more, than the original.
“This show is edgier and more irreverent than the Good Times of our childhood but it’s still a show about family, fighting the system and working to make things better despite where you start out in the world,” Brown wrote. “That 100% lines up with my values.”

It was business as usual as the series' four-episode arc about Will's paternity ended.
Angie returned to work on Will Trent Season 2 Episode 3, and her partnership with Michael was stronger than ever as they dealt with a sauna murder that was too close to home for Michael. Meanwhile, Will's views on religion and faith were tested with a complicated murder and missing woman case.
They've been pulling out seasoned guest stars and tying in emotional character arcs. Tonight is no exception.
While the series has moved on to business as usual, Will has not moved on yet. He still had visions of Cricket and avoided going to the office unless he was called into a case.
It was endearing that he and Betty went to support Angie when she passed her physical, but she saw right through his facade.
Angie: Have you talked to anyone about the explosion?
Will: No.

Josh Folsom has sworn he‘s tried to change where he came from by helping others and solving crimes. Yet when he suspected Kahn Schefter murdered his mother, he snapped.
Many of us can relate to that as you’d want to harm someone who killed your parents, but would you do it, especially if you were law enforcement?
Josh’s arc has been tricky. Some people relate to it, while others hate it. Luckily, it ended tonight when the undersheriff and the review board decided his fate.
TV Fanatic chatted with Matt Lauria about his thoughts on Josh’s latest arc, how relationships with Max and Allie would change, and when Josh would return to the field.
Check out the interview below:
So, what are your thoughts on Josh's latest character arc? While he grew up defending his family and believing in an eye for an eye, I thought he was past that.

With a title like “God Save Texas, “ a new three-part docuseries inspired by an acclaimed piece of nonfiction carrying the same name and authored by Lawrence Wright, one might think this particular program will unquestionably take a harsh look at the Lone Star State, focusing solely on its flaws and a bleak viewpoint as it looks to the future. There’s no doubt that Texas has, time and again, been mired in a barrage of controversial moments throughout the past 178 years of its existence as the 28th United state, but under the direction of Texas natives Richard Linklater, Alex Stapleton and Iliana Sosa (“What We Leave Behind”), here three specific Texan sticking points are touched upon extensively, each handled well individually but when joined together paint a fascinating picture of how far Texas has come and how far it has yet to go.

Marketed with a 100-day countdown and a dozen brand collaborations, Netflix’s The Archies is finally here. Adapted for the screen from the “Archie” comics, the film brings the all-American story to an Indian setting in the early 1960s. Sir John Riverdale, an Englishman, first posted in Bombay, fell in love with a beautiful Indian woman named Sitara. It seems Sir John couldn’t resist anything beautiful, so when he found a stunning piece of land somewhere in the mountains, he and his wife took all their savings and their four children, bought the land from a Maharaj, and named their new Anglo-Indian town Riverdale, after him, of course. The town grew, and it became a haven for the half-British, half-Indian kids who had nowhere else to go. After independence, many left the town, moving to England, but those who stayed planted their roots by quite literally planting trees in their central park,...

It’s 1964, we are in Riverdale, a fictional hilltown set in North India dominated by an Anglo-Indian community; and we’re introduced to ‘Green Park’ by Archie Andrews (Agastya Nanda), who explains the history attached to it. Apart from loving Green Park, Archie also likes the Brunnete Veronica Lodge (Suhana Khan) and Blonde Betty Cooper (Khushi Kapoor) at the same time.

Leave it to Zoya Akhtar to get you excited about a film about rich kids and their little naive problems, and then take it all away in a 2-hour, 23-minute-long snooze fest. I really wanted to like this film; in fact, I’ve been defending it since the trailers dropped, just to have an objective viewpoint on it all, but now I simply feel embarrassed. The Archies is set in the fictional Anglo-Indian town of Riverdale, somewhere in the north of India. The film follows 17-year-old Archie and his friends (mostly the two girls he’s confused about) as they navigate through friendship, romance, and a real-world problem—the future of their beloved park! As I put those words down, it makes me realize how true to them the film actually is. I would like to say that there are some enjoyable parts in this film, maybe the two dance...

The longer a television series runs, the higher the chance that there's a bad episode or two, and that's even the case with the incredible FX comedy series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Fans of the series will tell you that even the worst episode of "Always Sunny" is better than the best episodes of most other comedies, but there are still some weaker entries that just don't stand up to the "Sunny" standard.
There are a handful of episodes that are less beloved by fans than the rest, but there's one in particular that seems to be universally reviled. In an interview with Deadline in 2018, "It's Always Sunny" star and creator Rob McElhenney shared his feelings about the series' most unpopular episode, and it turns out that he's actually a pretty big fan! Sometimes what's funny to one person isn't to another, and apparently McElhenney finds the episode fiercely funny,...

Charles Melton is having his breakout moment in Todd Haynes‘ newest movie “May December,” which just released in theaters in the USA on November 17. Melton is best known for playing Reggie Mantle in the TV teen drama “Riverdale” but he’s now flexed his dramatic acting muscles in Haynes’ superb melodrama opposite Oscar winners Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore.
Portman plays Elizabeth — an actress who visits a couple played by Melton (Joe) and Moore (Gracie). Elizabeth is doing research on the couple for a film based on their scandalous past — they previously struck up an affair when Joe was just 13 and Gracie was much older. Elizabeth’s visit brings up the whole ordeal again and there are so many deliciously dramatic moments littered throughout the lush film.

Uma Thurman and Samuel L Jackson didn’t share any screen time in Pulp Fiction (though their paths crossed briefly in Kill Bill Vol 2) so this comic thriller can take credit for turning the Tarantino twosome into a double-act for the first time. Thanks to enterprising social media users and rabid Taylor Swift fans, the tweets of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce have resurfaced. Everything from spelling mistakes to happy thoughts about squirrels has delighted social media users, even entertaining “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon and house band The Roots’ rapper Black Thought. They worked together to turn the posts into a new rap song… while glossing over some of Kelce’s more troubling posts.
The pair performed the tune on Friday night’s episode. Black Thought began, “Travis used to tweet a lot, nah, he wouldn’t quit,” before Fallon jumped in with a Kelce quote, “I just gave a squirrel a piece of bread and it straight smashed all of it.”
“Now this guy’s with Taylor Swift and, yeah, the two are dating,” Black Thought went on. Fallon followed up with another Kelce tweet, “I had no idea they ate bread like that.

At a time when nuclear anxiety was both real and common, Thom Eberhardt went against the grain and made a quirky genre movie about the end of the world. Of course, the catastrophic event shown in Night of the Comet wasn’t the result of unleashed weapons of mass destruction. No, this story’s obliteration of (most) life on Earth was brought on by a less obvious force: a passing comet on par with the one that wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Hollywood and the like have never been opposed to putting fears of nuclear strike and fallout on screen, but nothing made back in the ‘80s quite compares to Eberhardt’s doomsday tale of two valley girls looking for signs of life in disaster-stricken SoCal.

Features the voices of: Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx, Will Forte, Isla Fisher, Randall Park, Josh Gad, Harvey Guillén, Rob Riggle, Brett Gelman, Jamie Demetriou, Sofia Vergara | Written by Dan Perrault | Directed by Josh Greenbaum
Produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie), this inspired comedy takes the previously family-friendly talking dog movie genre and turns it into an outrageously filthy, frequently gasp-inducing, R-rated laugh riot. It just might be the funniest film of the year.
Will Ferrell (sounding a lot like Paul Rudd) voices Reggie, a hopelessly naïve Border Terrier who can’t see that his owner, Doug (Will Forte) is a hateful, selfish loser who despises him. One day, Doug drives Reggie several miles away and abandons him, though Reggie still thinks they are playing their favourite game, “Fetch and f**k”, so called because that’s what Doug yells, every time Reggie finds his way home again.

Warning: contains major spoilers for The Lazarus Project series one.
The new series of The Lazarus Project on Sky does not mess about. Episode one plunges viewers straight back into the action and expects them to keep up with George and the gang’s time travel twists. The last time we saw them, they were stuck in a constantly repeating three-week loop caused by a collapsing-in-on-itself black hole and everybody was losing their sanity. Isn't it everyone's dream to age gracefully well into their golden years?
The caveat is that once someone reaches a certain age, they lose the strength of youth and they become a vulnerable member of society.
That opens them up to exploitation from morally bankrupt people and sometimes may meet their demise because of someone else's actions.
Found Season 1 Episode 3 explored one such case through Reggie, an older black gay man who had lost his husband and fell into a pit of loneliness.
There is always something unique and incredibly human in the cases the show tackles, and they make sure that they have all the bases covered so that they may be able to represent the missing person appropriately.
Through Reggie, the show dove into various topics relating to situations older people in society find themselves in.
The first was loss, and if you've never experienced loss, I can...

“East New York” star Ezra Knight guest stars on Tuesday night’s “Found” as a doorman who seeks out Gabi’s (Shanola Hampton) help for a missing man he thinks the police wouldn’t bother to search for.
In this exclusive clip, which you can watch above, Cliff (Knight) shares a video of his missing friend Reggie with Gabi. When she asks why he hasn’t reported the disappearance to the authorities, he says he came to her “because I know you care for everyone.”
Says Cliff, “I’m just not confident that police would care about a missing gay widower in his 70s. And it’s only been two days and my only real evidence is the absence of our morning conversations.” He adds that the residents of his building mostly don’t acknowledge him but that, “Reggie sees me. He’s a good person.”

Gabi (Shanola Hampton) remains determined not to let Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) get under her skin, but as seen in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the October 17 episode of Found, that’s easier said than done. Gabi has her kidnapper chained up in her basement and uses him to help her find missing people. Her current case: widower Reggie Moore at the request of his building’s doorman (Ezra Knight). “I was starting to think there was no work for us today,” Sir says as he eats before telling Gabi to play the call again. On the call, Reggie insists he’s good and “just taking some personal time.” Sir then remarks, “Guilt is rough, isn’t it?” But as Gabi sees it, “I have nothing to feel guilty about. No matter what I may or may not have said, you’re the one who kidnapped Bella. That’s on you.

When someone goes missing, the least they can hope for is that it is noticeable and action is being taken.
For many lost people, the first group to notice they went missing is family, whether a spouse, children, parents, or extended family.
But what happens when you don’t have anyone to notice? What happens when, for whatever reason, people who are supposed to care are not available?
Spoilers for Found Season 1 Episode 3 tease such a case when an unlikely party puts Gabi and her team on a missing person’s case.
Finding a Missing Widower
It is quite possible for someone who enjoyed great social connections throughout their life to find themselves lonely.
As one gets older, the likelihood of that happening increases. As someone loses the energy to maintain relationships, they can fade away.
Sadly, people also lose their loved ones when they die, which can end many.

Will Ferrell essentially revisited his Old School character Frank “The Tank” Ricard over the weekend by surprise DJing a frat party held at the University of Southern California ahead of its football game against the University of Arizona.
The actor popped up at a tailgate party held by the Sigma Alpha Mu frat during this year’s family weekend and played a series of hits while dressed for the part in a backward USC cap and shades. Videos have surfaced online in which Ferrell keeps the crowd going with staples like Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “N****s in Paris,” Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” and The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside.” At one point, he even breaks out a handheld fog gun. Watch the social media clips below.

Plucky pup Reggie (Will Ferrell) thought he and his owner Doug (Will Forte) were playing an innocent game of fetch. It isn’t until he meets Bug (Jamie Foxx), a streetwise stray who says only suckers have owners, that Reggie realizes his miserable master intentionally abandoned him in the big city. With two more pooches (Isla Fisher and Randall Park) adding fuel to his furry fire, Reggie goes from cute to cunning as he and Bug concoct a crazy scheme to get back to Doug and give him a big bite between his legs. Revenge has never been this riotous, or this irreverent, as the hilariously absurd antics of these four furballs turn typical animal adventures totally upside down. Forget everything you know about “dog movie” drama because this is one journey home that’s off its leash and over the top.

The art world is a cutthroat and judgemental arena. You’re the cat’s pajamas one day, but you’re old news if you take too long to deliver your next masterpiece. Surrounded by snobbery, bitter wine, and diamond-encrusted vultures waiting to pick your talented bones clean, artists endure a lot to remain relevant, and some would even kill for the chance to keep their spot in the public eye. In today’s The Kill Room trailer, a hitman, his boss, and an art dealer concoct a money laundering scheme that accidentally turns an assassin into an overnight avant-garde sensation.
