Spoiler Alert: Details follow for Season 11, Episode 13 of “The Masked Singer,” “Finale: One Mask Takes It All,” which aired May 22 on Fox.
“The Masked Singer” winner Vanessa Hudgens admits she didn’t necessarily play the hiding game: At least among her friends and fans, they figured out it was her under the Goldfish costume rather quickly.
“Rita [Ora] guessed it was me straight from the jump,” Hudgens said. “But she’s also my friend. And we saw each other a few days before the first episode!”
Hudgens beat out Scott Porter, who had performed this season as Gumball, to win the “Masked Singer” trophy. Coincidentally, both Hudgens and Porter previously starred together in 2009’s “Bandslam.”
Despite their history, Hudgens said the production kept her completely in the dark as to who her competitors were. “I was so invested every step of the way,” she said. “I was trying really hard to...

In the first season of The Masked Singer, audiences crowned the autotune-stripped T-Pain, known as the Monster. In the finale of Season 10, Cow disillusioned judges and audiences alike with his hip-swerving moves and flamboyant gestures, but his definitive falsetto made the artist hard to deny. As the masked contestant’s time on the show came to a close, Cow performed “Take a Bow” by Rihanna, and was revealed as R&b singer-songwriter Ne-Yo. By the show’s end, panelist Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke were able to pin Ne-Yo, who...

The Season 10 finale of “The Masked Singer” took place Wednesday, December 20. Cow, Donut, Gazelle and Sea Queen each rocked the stage before audience members and panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger voted for their favorite. After the first round of voting, Sea Queen and Gazelle were eliminated and revealed to be Macy Gray and Janel Parrish, respectively. After a final showdown with Donut (revealed to be John Schneider), Cow was named the winner and took home the Golden Mask Trophy. The dancing dairy queen was exposed as Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Ne-Yo.
“I was giving girl cow realness,” he told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “I chose the female cow because I can’t disguise my singing voice, but I can disguise my speaking voice, I can change that.” Although Ne-Yo has won major awards, there is one stage he never got to be on. “I’ve won Grammys,...

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the Season 10 finale of The Masked Singer, including the identity of Cow.
The Masked Singer has officially crowned its Season 10 winner.
The two-hour finale of the Fox singing competition series brought its four finalists — Cow, Sea Queen, Gazelle, and Donut — head-to-head for the Masked trophy. After putting on two very different performances, Cow battled his way to the top.
No one should be too shocked by this win, considering Cow is none other than three-time Grammy winner Ne-Yo. Props to Robin Thicke for figuring it out first.
Ne-Yo had been impressing the judges all season. But no one except for Thicke was able to deduce who might be behind the mask until the final moments of Wednesday’s episode. It wasn’t until a rendition of “Take A Bow” by Rihanna, which Ne-Yo wrote and produced with StarGate, that Nicole Scherzinger also realized...

Exclusive: Indie distributor Brainstorm Media has locked down North American rights to Laroy, a darkly comedic thriller starring John Magaro (First Cow), Steve Zahn (The White Lotus) and Dylan Baker (Happiness) that world premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Festival and nabbed three awards at the Deauville American Film Festival, including the Grand Prix, Audience Award, and Critics Award.
The film is the first from writer-director Shane Atkinson and is set for release in theaters and on digital in 2024.
Hailing from Next Productions, Laroy follows a down-and-out man who is mistaken for a hired killer, leading him to play a dangerous game with dire consequences. Tom Hanks is making a splashy statement about Walt Disney Studios.
The Oscar winner revealed that “no one wanted to work for Disney” in the 1980s, and that’s how he was eventually cast in Ron Howard’s 1984 film “Splash” after guest starring on the TV series “Happy Days.”
“Ron Howard had already left the show, and he was directing, and they had written this movie called ‘Splash,'” Hanks said during SiriusXM’s “The Jess Cagle Show” podcast. “And it was at Disney, and no one wanted to work for Disney, and no one would take the job. And eventually they said, ‘Hey, this guy who kicked Fonzie through a plate-glass window might be good.’ And so I ended up auditioning for that.”
Hanks continued, “I remember going over to the Disney studios and it had not been refurbished. They had built it in like 1958 and it hadn’t changed a bit.

In an uncertain world, cinema has chosen to look inwards. Perhaps there’s a dose of narcissism there. But so many of this year’s films have been propelled by natural, vulnerable impulses: to return home, to think back on youth, to reconsider art’s purpose. They’re present in James Gray’s autobiographical Armageddon Time, Alejandro González Iñárritu’s self-reflective Bardo, the dark comedy The Banshees of Inisherin, and Noah Baumbach’s adaptation of Don DeLillo’s White Noise. Even the biggest blockbusters, Top Gun: Maverick and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, seem weighted with self-reflection. My own favourite 15 films, all released in the UK over the past year, have each themselves proven that the medium still has the power to heal the soul.

Jerzy Skolimowski’s Eo, a winding misadventure about a sweet-tempered donkey, inarguably qualifies as an animal’s-eye view of all that’s warm and cruel, comical and arbitrary about human nature. And of the world of animals, which can be so beautiful and terrifying at once. It’s similar to other, more sobering movies about animals, in this way — I’m thinking of recent documentaries like Andrea Arnold’s dairy farm chronicle Cow, or Victor Kossakovsky’s black-and-white, ethically produced Gunda, about a mother pig — only Eo, being a work of fiction,...
