It seems the Peacock Network really wants to impress the College Board. NBC has renewed its AP Bio TV show for a second season. The mid-season replacement comedy has really struggled in the ratings. Perhaps it can get some tutoring during summer vacation. An NBC workplace comedy, AP Bio stars Glenn Howerton, Patton Oswalt, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Jean Villepique, Tom Bennett, Paula Pell, Charlie McCrackin, Jacob McCarthy, Aparna Brielle, Nick Peine, Allisyn Ashley Arm, Eddie Leavy, Jacob Houston, Sari Arambulo, Tucker Albrizzi, and Spence Moore II. After being denied tenure at Harvard, award-winning philosophy scholar Jack Griffin (Howerton) ends up back home in Toledo, Ohio. Now, he teaches Advanced Placement Biology at Whitlock High. Well, that’s what he’s been hired to do. Mostly though, he’s teaching his students how to do his dirty work, for him — which includes driving...

Now that the second season of The Good Place has hit, and we have some idea how the show can continue after the big reveal, Kristen Bell offered up a special treat to Entertainment Weekly, the cast reaction to learning the twist for themselves. Throughout filming of the series only Bell and Ted Danson knew the overall story, so when it finally became necessary to let everyone in on the joke, Bell decided to see what their reactions looked like.
The video is creator Michael Schur talking the cast through the final moments of the first season, and it’s awesome to watch them try to take it all in. It seems like D’Arcy Carden puts it together a little faster than the rest, and then has to keep herself from shouting out her guess.
If you still have to catch up on season one so that you can jump in,...

The biggest problems facing new sitcoms today are getting the writing to fit exactly with the actors who have to deliver the scripts, and getting through the establishment. Crowded, NBC‘s latest effort, gets through both of them in a way that is almost unprecedented. Top that off with great writing, and this is one of the best sitcoms in years.
Created by Suzanne Martin, of Hot in Cleveland and The Soul Man, Crowded is an effort that showcases avoiding the need for the convoluted establishment that drags a lot of attempts down, by simply being about the world we know. Instead of struggling to get you to play along with some gimmick, it only has to give you the characters, which leaves a lot more time to get to the comedy.
The show is about a couple who lose their empty nest as soon as their daughters graduate college,...

Mr. Robinson isn’t a show for everyone, which is largely a function of the fact that Welcome Back, Kotter wasn’t for everyone, and owed a lot of the success it had to limited alternatives.
Don’t get me wrong, Welcome Back, Kotter was not only a great show, but it managed a surprising amount of influence on the landscape of television for decades… it just wasn’t for everyone.
Mr. Robinson stars Craig Robinson as a part-time substitute/part-time singer who runs into an old flame and hopes to rekindle things. When he learns that she now teaches at their old High School, he takes the first chance he gets to substitute there.
Mr. Robinson is laid-back almost to a fault… well, probably to a fault. He quickly hints that he wasn’t very serious about school, and hasn’t been very serious about anything since, but he...

In NBC's 1960s-set thriller, Aquarius, Gethin Anthony (Game of Thrones) plays Charles Manson, and with Aquarius premiering tonight, we participated in an interview call with Anthony, who discussed portraying Manson, working with David Duchovny, and more.
Anthony on what drew him to the series and the role of Charles Manson:
Gethin Anthony: My first and strongest reaction to reading the script from a Saturday morning back in London last year was I got really strong reactions to the authenticity of the dialogue that had been written for the Manson character and the characters around him in that world. I was aware somewhat of that era of history in U.S. history, but [John McNamara's] dialogue was really authentic and it made me want to dig deeper into understanding the late ’60s. [That] they could have the courage to make a show about such sensitive subject matter with authenticity excites me.

Community fans can finally breathe. Just when things were beginning to really look hopeless, Yahoo as stepped in, and is going to give us the chance to see the sixth season.
Community fans are certainly a vocal crowd, and the show has managed a sort of cult status, in addition to ratings that are, in today’s world, actually not all that bad. McHale and crew will get at least 13 more episodes of community college (because who knows what will happen if the run does well enough) in their continuing effort to never graduate from anything.
The news makes for an interesting step for Yahoo Screen, and hopefully one that marks a future trend.
Get all the info below, and make sure you keep your sights set on Community. Given the last six or seven episodes of the show, I have a feeling this could be one of those truly...

The new fall season is closer than you think, and NBC has released their full schedule. Apart from reality favorites The Biggest Loser and The Voice, they are mixing things up quite a bit.
Take a look at a complete preview of the shows coming your way, and mark your calendars. It looks good for NBC this year, and while I’m not sure all of these look like winners, I think you’ll find at least a couple that you’re really going to like.

I like promos like these. Quick hitter here with a Castle update, or Jodi Lyn O’Keefe additive, to the news we brought you about the Prison Break alums guest stint in Castle season 5. While other promos have portrayed Stana Katic’s Beckett having Nathan Fillion locked up for herself, these two images from the coming season reveal Jodi Lyn O’Keefe having what looks to be the first stages of a good time, after we learned that Beckett and Castle had a great one at the end of last season.
These two sexy scenes are from “Cloudy With a Chance of Murder”, the second episode of Castle season 5, airing on October 1st. As we noted earlier, O’Keefe will play Kristina Coterra, an entertainment reporter who has her sites on Castle. One wonders how far this encounter will go and how will it effect the new consummated status of...

ABC's Revenge has been gone too long, but will finally return with all-new episodes on Wednesday, April 18th. As you'll recall, poor Daniel has been jailed for the murder of a twitchy annoyance, and the family bands together to get to the truth. Here's the synopsis:
Daniel's imprisonment sends Victoria to depths that no one thought possible, as the surprise return of a past love (James Purefoy as Dominik Wright) provides a destructive but welcome distraction from her family's struggles. Meanwhile, Jack's search for Amanda grows more desperate as he comes under suspicion for murder.
Then there's Daniel, who in these pics looks extremely vulnerable and sad ... and freaking hot (maybe it's just me, but in one pic he looks ready to rub one out).
Enjoy these preview pics, which are a glimpse of what we can look forward to in the season's final six epsiodes. (Pics - ABC/Vivian Zink...

Grey’s Anatomy is currently on a small break, but is returning March 15th with the brand new episode “One Step Too Far.” It’s an episode that will see some serious ground being taken in more than a few storylines, so you won’t want to miss it. As is customary, ABC has released a handful of delightfully teasing promo images for the episode. Of course, if you don’t know what the episode is about then these won’t appear to be anything more then they are; stills. So, let’s figure what they all mean!
In “One Step Too Far” Derek and Meredith will take a big step toward repairing their trust when Derek asks Meredith to assist him on a case. Jackson Avery can be seen with a woman we’re not familiar with. The lady on his arm is actress Rebecca Hazelwood (Outsourced) and her...

It's that time again, and NBC has revealed it's 2011-2012 schedule. A couple of things have been kicked to the curb, and a host of new shows are coming to fill things in. I have a preview of the new fall shows, and the full schedule for you. There are a few surprises on the cut and not cut side of things, and the new shows have a bit of something for everyone. As usual, some of the ones that look the best to me are reserved for mid-season. And, NBC has apparently given up on Saturday altogether.
It's a whole lot of info, so let's just jump in.
NBC has introduced its 2011-12 primetime schedule, showcasing six new dramas and six new comedies from a roster of renowned hit-makers that includes Steven Spielberg, Lorne Michaels, Brian Grazer, Tom Werner, John Grisham and Peter Berg, among many others.

Chicago – NBC’s “Chase” is not a “good” show in the strictest sense of the word. It’s hokey, rife with stereotypes, and sets up unrealistic situations for its characters in order to facilitate dramatic, suspenseful chase scenes. To protect my honor and integrity as a TV critic, this must be gotten out of the way first: objectively, I can see that “Chase” is not a good show.
Television Rating: 3.0/5.0
Having said that, I’ll admit that there are enjoyable moments in the series premiere, airing tonight, Monday, September 20th, 2010. A mix of “The Fugitive” and a classic Western, “Chase” is a corny-but-engaging show. It centers on a suspiciously-pretty and ethnically-diverse group of U.S. Marshals who carry the requisite amount of their own personal emotional baggage, working in Texas to chase down the bad guys — unsympathetically misanthropic criminal fugitives.

Chicago – ABC continues to look for another “Lost” or “Modern Family” this fall with seven new shows announced today at their 2010 upfronts presentation. The network will see changes on four nights of the week but will bring back the sometimes on-the-bubble “Castle” in its Monday night timeslot while saying goodbye to “FlashForward,’ “Scrubs,” and “Better Off Ted”.
Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment Group, said this morning via press release, “Our passion for great storytelling is at the core of everything we do. Finding and supporting writers, directors, producers and actors who share that passion is critical to our success. Our shows are the product of these collaborations, and we are thrilled to add 10 new series to our schedule next year.” (Seven will premiere in the fall with three more reserved for midseason.)

Chicago – NBC announced their fall schedule and fans of “Heroes,” “Law & Order,” “Trauma,” and “Mercy” will shed a tear while on-the-bubble shows like “Chuck,” “Parenthood,” and “Community” will return with “Parks and Recreation” coming back later in the season. Most notably, the peacock network filled the now-vacant five hours of programming after “The Jay Leno Show” debacle with eight new fall shows and five more scheduled for midseason.

Chicago – For seven years, USA Network’s “Monk” has consistently delivered quality entertainment. It’s never been a show that set out to break the rules or even do anything too interesting within them, but it has rarely faltered at all in its ability to entertain, something that can be said about very few series that have been on this long. Like a great old band going for one final tour, the final season of “Monk” promises to play all the greatest hits and go out on a high note.
