Charlie Sheen, Leah Remini and Naya Rivera are set to star in the movie “Mad Families” for Sony’s streaming service Crackle, TheWrap has learned. Sheen will serve as executive producer on the film, which also stars Finesse Mitchell, Charlotte McKinney and Juan Gabriel Pareja. “Mad Families” centers on three families — one Hispanic, one African-American, one Caucasian — who share the same camping space on a Fourth of July holiday weekend. When no one wants to vacate the site, they all try to figure it out peacefully in a series of hysterical contests. Also Read: Here's Charlie Sheen's Somber Condom Ad Fred Wolf.

There's a new Ninja Turtles book coming out called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History. It pays tribute to the many iterations of the franchise, and it also features concept art for the upcoming big screen adaptation of the film. The art included in the book gives us a better look at what Shredder and Master Splinter will look like. Shredder looks like he's going to be insane, and Splinter looks like… well, Splinter. He is the only design from the new film that I've actually really liked.
Here's a description of the book:
Discover the complete story of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the first time–from their humble beginnings in black-and-white comics created in a home studio in Dover, New Hampshire, to their multimillion-dollar breakout success, and their position as four of the best-loved characters of all time.

You don't have to be a kid to love animation. That's what Studio Ghibli, Ari Folman and other modern day pioneers of the form are proving time and again. Earlier this week, AFI Fest screened "Waltz with Bashir" director Folman's upcoming "The Congress," in which Robin Wright plays herself in a half live-action, half animated Faustian sci-fi of genius, mystery and ragged beauty. Ignore the critical pans and see "The Congress" when Drafthouse Films releases it on VOD in January. Until then, catch up on your experimental animated films with these five essentials you can stream now. Clips after the jump.1. Harry Nilsson: The Point (SnagFilms) Under the direction of Fred Wolf, untouchable singer/songwriter Harry Nilsson was inspired to develop this 1971 film companion to his album after an eye-opening acid trip. And it certainly shows in this delirious bedtime fable and creepy cartoon about a kingdom of pointy-headed creatures.

Universal may have dumped millions of dollars when it dumped its deal with Hasbro, but Sony Pictures is digging up what it sees as future box office profits. Sony Animation will make a movie out of Hasbro's Tonka trucks, the best selling toy truck In The World since 1947. Writing the animated film -- and tell us on Twitter @KidsPickFlicks if this worries you like it does us -- is Fred Wolf, the former "Saturday Night Live" scribe who wrote Grown Ups and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. I guess we can count on David Spade to voice the lead character (or truck?). Sony is making the Candy Land movie starring Adam Sandler through his production company Happy Madison (Wolf also wrote Sandler's upcoming Grown Ups 2). Sony is developing a third Hasbro property, the strategy board game Risk, into a film.
Speaking of Risk, it does seem like one to try...

Hasbro is teaming up with Sony Pictures to bring Tonka Trucks to the big screen! Tonka Trucks were pretty badass back in the day. I had one when I was a kid, and I beat the hell out of it. I don't know if you've seen any Tonka toys today, but they aren't as badass as they use to be. Sony will team up with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions and adapt the brand into an animated feature film. They are also working on developing films for Hasbro’s Candy Land for Sony. The studio is also working on bringing Hasbro’s Risk to the big screen as well.
Since Universal Pictures bombed with Battleship, they've stopped working all of their Hasbro projects like Stretch Armstrong, Clue, Monopoly, and Magic, The Gathering. Maybe they should have made a better Battleship movie. It's not the brands fault; it's the studio's.

Grown-Ups, the movie overwhelmingly rated an Ick that starred Adam Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock and Rob Scheider, is getting a sequel. Even though critics panned it, the comedy still brought in $271 million worldwide. And, even though many moviegoers thought it seemed like there was no script, surprisingly one did exist and the writer of that script (Fred Wolf) is in talks for round 2. Happy Madison will produce for Sony but Adam Sandler will not commit to starring in the film until the script is finished.
Here's what we're hoping is really going on. Grown-Ups seemed a lot like Oceans 12 in that it was filled with huge stars (George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, etc.) who were all friends and the film seemed like they made the film for themselves -- that their egos were so big they thought they could slap something together and audiences...

American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee will make her studio acting debut in the untitled Anna Faris project for Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison. McPhee, along with Emma Stone, Rumer Willis, Kat Dennings and comedian Dana Goodman, have signed on to co-star in the comedy, which is being directed by Fred Wolf.
The script, written by Legally Blonde scribes Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith, centers on a Playboy bunny (Faris) who gets kicked out of the Playboy Mansion and becomes the house mother to the lamest sorority on campus. The casting fills in the major roles of the sorority sisters and solidifies the project as the first female-driven comedy to come out of the shingle.
McPhee will play a pregnant hippy, while Stone will be president of the sorority.
Willis will play an insecure young woman who wears a backbrace even though she could have had it removed years ago. Dennings will portray a pierced women's studies feminist, and Goodman will play the sister who keeps switching majors and should have graduated years ago.
