At the fingertips of Diederik Van Rooijen’s horror, The Possession of Hannah Grace, is an engaging, ghoulish and terrifying prospect of intense atmospheric horror with a terrific setting to inject some superb frights. That said, it becomes quite painful to report that within the first ten minutes of the films short eighty-six-minute running time it fails to convince the audience what you’re watching is actually nightmarish, nor express the quality of horror it has at hand. Ultimately, Rooijen’s film with every opportunity takes the easiest and most simplistic conventional avenue possible with so little inventive cinematic narratives or attributes examined, leading to a deeply unimaginative picture.

It’s a weekend of repeats.
With just one nationwide debut at the box office, a series of holdovers are set to take the top spots, with the second frame of Disney’s “Ralph Breaks the Internet” heading for first place with an estimated $24 million.
The sole cross-country rollout, Sony’s “Possession of Hannah Grace,” is likely to open to $6.4 million from 2,065 North American theaters after taking in $2.56 million on Friday. That estimate is more than double what Sony had originally predicted for “Hannah Grace.”
Directed by Diederik Van Rooijen and written by Brian Sieve, the horror flick follows a young morgue attendant (Shay Mitchell) who realizes a cadaver has been possessed by a demon. Shot on a Sony A7S II, “Hannah Grace” has a C- CinemaScore and a 19% Rotten Tomatoes score, with its Audience Score at 22%.

The utterly flimsy and formulaic goosebump thriller The Possession of Hannah Grace is the latest drab and dreary take on the possession horror film genre. Strained with creepy cliche-ridden jolts and the tired copycat mentality of countless frightfests imaginable Dutch director Diederik Van Rooijen ("Daglicht") assembles a choppy exorcist vehicle that is laughably bad. Riddled with tedious manufactured scares, anemic writing, and unfocused acting The Possession of Hannah Grace elicits unintentional chuckles moreso than crafty bloody knuckles. This perverse plate of predictability has been served once too often. Along with Van Rooijen's mechanically macabre direction screenwriter Brian Sieve (the "Boogeyman" movie series) aptly creates an atmospheric, eerie universe that gives Possession its terrorizing texture and sense of corrosive confinement. Still, Sieve's woefully pedestrian script does not dutifuuly...

The second weekend of “Ralph Breaks the Internet” is dominating North American moviegoing with an estimated $28 million at 4,017 locations, early estimates showed Friday.
The second weekend of “Creed II,” the third weekend of “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” and the fourth frame of “The Grinch” are battling for second place in the $15 million range. “The Possession of Hannah Grace,” the weekend’s only opener, is materializing at the high end of forecasts with about $6 million at 2,065 locations on Thursday night.
If the estimates hold for “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” it will be the third year in a row that a holdover Disney animated movie has won the post-Thanksgiving weekend with a $27 million-plus take, following “Coco” last year with $27.5 million and “Moana” with $28.3 million in 2016. “Ralph” should finish the weekend with about $120 million in its first 11 days — giving it a decent shot at matching the final domestic gross of 2012’s “Wreck-It Ralph” at $189 million.

“The Possession of Hannah Grace,” an R-rated horror thriller opening from Sony’s Screen Gems, earned $625,000 in Thursday box office previews starting at 7 p.m. in 1,866 locations.
It’s expected to be a slow weekend for new releases post-Thanksgiving, with “Ralph Breaks the Internet” and “Creed II” still expected to hold strong in their second weekends. Last year, I was invited to check out the set of The Possession of Hannah Grace, which will arrive in theaters on November 30th, thanks to Screen Gems and Sony Pictures Entertainment. After an exorcism goes horribly wrong, the body of Hannah Grace is taken to a local morgue, but she doesn't stay dead. Thankfully, we were on set at the perfect time to witness things unravel at the morgue, and I saw firsthand how terrifying and claustrophobic a morgue can be.
Kicking off a series of interviews we conducted on set with a group of journalists, I wanted to share our discussion with producer Sean Robins and writer Brian Sieve, who is no stranger to horror, having been a writer on the Scream and Teen Wolf TV series. Keep an eye out for more interviews with the cast and crew, including Shay Mitchell and Hannah Grace herself, Kirby Johnson.

Morgues already make a great setting for any horror film, but throw a possessed dead body into the mix and then you’ve got yourself a creepy-ass story to tell! It’s really a simple premise, but it sure looks like it’ll make for an entertaining horror film that will offer some crazy thrills and chills, especially if you scare easy.

NBC has put in development horror drama Cul-De-Sac from Scream: The TV Series writer Brian Sieve, director Larysa Kondracki (The Fix), Blumhouse Television and Universal Television.
I hear there is a branding idea for an event series franchise under the umbrella “Blumhouse Presents”, with Cul-De-Sac as a possible first installment under the “Blumhouse Presents” banner.
Written and co-executive produced by Sieve, Cul-De-Sac is a serialized drama about three families living in a suburban cul-de-sac who begin to experience terrifying events and come to realize there’s something sinister invading their perfect middle-class dream.
Kondracki executive produces and will direct the potential pilot. Chris Mills and Zack Tann executive produce for Magnet Management.

Breaking onto the scene via the über-popular Pretty Little Liars series, Shay Mitchell is now poised to board Cadaver, the new horror-thriller in the works at Screen Gems. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop, noting that the Canadian actress has closed a deal to headline the dark and brooding drama.
Dreamed up by screenwriter Brian Sieve, Mitchell’s sophomore feature will see the star step into the shoes of “a disgraced ex-cop and recovering addict who takes a job in a graveyard shift at the morgue of the hospital in which she got sober. Soon after a mysterious and brutally massacred body is delivered to the morgue, the woman begins to witness terrorizing and violent murders, leading her to face off against an evil entity.”
Diederik Van Rooijen is behind the lens, flanked by a producing team that comprises Sean Robins and Todd Garner on behalf of Broken Road Productions.

Teen Wolf's latest episode is overstuffed with characters and unconvincing CGI, making it a rare misstep for the show...
This review contains spoilers.
5.12 Damnatio Memoriae
One of the rare places where Teen Wolf is let down is in the show's use of CGI. They do their best to keep it rare, to save it for sweetening moments, but very rarely do they just build creatures whole hog out of digital effects. That's probably a good move; if movies, which have tens of millions of dollars to spend, can't make convincing CGI creatures, why would a television show think they could shoot around digital effects? Teen Wolf indulges in it rarely, because it doesn't really work on their scale, and that's part of the problem with Damnatio Memoriae.
One of the things that the Dread Doctors have been attempting to do with all their experiments is to create the ultimate killing machine.

Teen Wolf's latest episode is overstuffed with characters and unconvincing CGI, making it a rare misstep for the show...

5.12 Damnatio Memoriae
One of the rare places where Teen Wolf is let down is in the show's use of CGI. They do their best to keep it rare, to save it for sweetening moments, but very rarely do they just build creatures whole hog out of digital effects. Guns N. Roses icon Slash has finally made the decision that everyone around him should have convinced him to do years ago: he.s going to make a slasher movie. And the film will feature call backs to classic '80s films of the genre like Halloween and Friday the 13th. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Slash, who used to play guitar for Guns N' Roses, has teamed up with Revolver Picture Company to produce and help bring to fruition a brand new horror movie that hopes to jolt new energy into the genre. And, clearly, Slash has big plans for the project, because, alongside the aforementioned studio, he has hired Brian Sieve to write up the film. Sieve has previously had some luck scribing the likes of Boogeyman 2 and Boogeyman 3, while Revolver Picture Company have been behind the likes of Beneath and Haunt. It.s been reported...

I briefly attended Lincoln High in Brooklyn, New York, before being thrown out for being an uncontrollable student. Ah, youth... there was so much chaos! So much puberty! Still, if demons were roaming the school, I may have stuck around or at least blamed them for my shitty attitude.
According to The Tracking Board, Lbi Entertainment will be having an Exorcism at Lincoln High, which may or may not be the same Lincoln High that I attended... but it's a good bet that it will not be the Lincoln High from The Class of 1984.
Brian Sieve (Boogeyman 2, Boogeyman 3) is currently penning the spec screenplay about a high school student who is cursed by a demon and must be exorcised.
Julie Yorn, Rick Yorn, and Erik Olsen produce for Lbi.
Stay tuned.

Boogeyman 3
Stars: Erin Cahill, Chuck Hittinger, Mimi Michaels and Nikki Sanderson | Written by Brian Sieve | Directed by Gary Jones
College student Audrey Allen (ex-Corie actress Sanderson) is haunted by the Boogeyman following her fathers death (in Boogeyman 2), and tries to convince her best friend Sarah (Cahill), a psychology student, that the Boogeyman is real. Sarah doesn’t believe her until she witnesses Audrey’s death one night at the hands of the monster.
Whilst everyone is convinced that Audrey committed suicide, only Sarah knows the truth – the Boogeyman is real and he’s haunting the dorms of Hammond Hall.
Following my disappointment in the first Boogeyman film and having skipped Boogeyman 2, I wasn’t holding out much hope for the third in the series. I could not have been more surprised. Boogeyman 3 features a supernatural villain in the grand tradition of Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees,...
