This season on From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, fans have had the pleasure of watching Tom Savini, who portrayed Sex Machine in the original film, play demon hunter Burt this time around. Some of the show's best humor comes from Savini's scenes with Jake Busey, who plays Sex Machine in the TV series, and our exclusive clip from tonight's episode features both actors observing the stealthy weapon that helped make Sex Machine such an iconic character in the horror genre.

Hell hath no fury like a Xibalban queen scorned, especially when said queen wants to literally raise Hell on Earth. Looking to get one up on the Gecko Brothers, a possessed Kate and a few of her friends from the underworld go after her culebra brother, Scott Fuller, who is now the lead singer of a rock band that feeds on the blood of sinners. It’s just another day in the wild world of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, which airs its most ambitious season 3 episode tonight at 9:00pm Et on El Rey Network.
The last time we saw Scott, he was absolutely shaken after Carlos shot his sister, Kate, and with his former mentor-turned-enemy now scattered across the earth after being sliced and diced at Jacknife Jed’s, Scott has turned to music to soothe his troubled soul… and feed his voracious appetite. From Dusk till Dawn: The Series, Season 1, Episode 8, “La Conquista”
Written by Marcel Rodriguez
Directed by Fede Alvarez
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on El Rey Network
Somehow From Dusk till Dawn: The Series has managed to exceed expectations. With just 2 episodes left, the first season has been clever, imaginative, and exciting. There have been a few bumps along the way, some of the pacing has been off and the transition from screen to TV hasn’t always been smooth, but for the most part the series has benefited from the great chemistry between D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz as Seth and Richie Gecko, and a hectic, bloody, cool attitude.
“Pandemonium” ended with Richie being shot by Freddie (Jesse Garcia) and drugged by Santanico (Eiza Gonzalez). “La Conquista” opens with a flashback to Carlos (Wilmer Valderrama) and his ever evolving back story. From the beginning Carlos has been the big question mark for the show.

Chicago – You gotta love director Robert Rodriguez. When other filmmakers are slogging through their important films, he’s out convincing big stars to blow off cinematic fireworks, giggling all the time. The excess is the thing, more so and more so, in his new film “Machete Kills.”
Rating: 3.5/5.0
Another great notion about the character of Machete, portrayed with stoic abandon by Danny Trejo, is that he began as a character in a fake trailer (“Grindhouse” from 2007) and then became his own film series. After the feature debut “Machete” in 2010, director Robert Rodriguez revisits the Mexican marauder in “Machete Kills” and brings along some celebrity heroes and villains – including Charlie Sheen (listed as Carlos Estevez) as the President. This is a shoot-em-up, blow-em-up, sex-em-up carnival of a thrill kill cult movie. The pay offs overshadow the dead spots and the redundancy of the bullets flying, and provides enough grindhouse touches and bizarre laughs to entertain.

Danny Trejo is set to light up the screen once more next month, reprising his cult character role of Machete in Robert Rodriguez’s anticipated sequel, Machete Kills.
Starting out life as a fake trailer, the original Machete movie became something of an instant cult classic, and the upcoming sequels have been something to look forward to ever since.
Machete Kills is first up, hitting cinemas next month. And with just a few more weeks to go, a new preview has landed online, taking a look at Alexa Vega in various scenes taking aim at Trejo’s Machete.
In Machete Kills, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent Machete, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

Trained to kill. Left for Dead. Back for more. Thus goes the tagline on the new poster for Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills, his action sequel to the movie that began life as a fake trailer.

The latest trailer surfaced just over a month ago, teasing plenty more action sequences to entertain the original’s fans. And now Fandango have launched the latest poster, which sees Trejo alongside both the good guys and the bad.

First off, let me apologize to you, dear readers, for getting this week’s column to you so late – it’s been crazy busy on my end, and this got away from me. In happier news, over the weekend, I finally saw The Wolverine, and I have to say that I liked it more than I thought I would. More importantly, this week finally sees the release of Elysium, which I am planning to see as soon as I can. And looking beyond the end of summer, this week’s installment of Trailer Trashin’ takes another look at one of my most anticipated films of the fall, Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills.

Whilst we’d been rooting for two doses of Robert Rodriguez on the big screen this year, it looks like we’ll be waiting a little longer for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For to hit. But in the meantime, there’s still plenty to look forward to on the Machete Kills front.
Danny Trejo is of course back as the titular Machete, joined by another brilliant ensemble of new and familiar faces alike. One of those familiar faces returning is Michelle Rodriguez, reprising her role as Shé, and now EW have a thirty-second Comic-Con preview focusing on her return. And with it, we’ve also got a new character poster for Demián Bichir as Mendez the Madman.

Fantastic Fest has announced that Robert Rodriguez‘s grindhouse sequel Machete Kills will open their 2013 film festival.
In Machete Kills, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent Machete, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man - he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.
This year’s Fantastic Fest runs from September 19-26, 2013. The movie opens on October 4th, and I'm sure it will be just as absurdly fun as the first movie.
