Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome looms big as a 13-foot-tall black man in Oakland, California in the official trailer for Amazon Prime Video’s coming-of-age dark comedy I’m A Virgo, which was released on Tuesday.
The absurdist series created, written and executive produced by Boots Riley has Jerome’s character, Cootie, having to navigate life as a giant after growing up hidden away, passing time on a diet of comic books and TV shows.
“You are a 13-foot tall Black man — they fear you,” Cootie is told at one point in the trailer as he nervously tries to court a young woman taking his order in a burger joint and even meets his real-life superhero from comic books, played by Walton Goggins.
The series, a follow-up of sorts to Riley’s 2018 Sundance hit Sorry to Bother You, has the filmmaker directing all seven episodes set to bow exclusively on Prime Video...

‘I’m A Virgo’ Trailer: Boots Riley’s Coming-of-Age Comedy Shows Off a 13-Foot Jharrel Jerome (Video)
Amazon Prime Video released its first full trailer for its upcoming Boots Riley comedy series, “I’m a Virgo,” on Tuesday. The project stars Emmy winner Jharrell Jerome as a 13-foot-tall Black man living in Oakland, California. Set to be released in full on June 23, the series was written and directed entirely by Riley (“Sorry to Bother You”).
The trailer showcases a supersized Jerome as he leaves his childhood home and takes on the world, no matter how ill-fitted he is. And there’s more than just tiny living spaces antagonizing his day to day: Walton Goggins in full superhero getup appears to take issue with the young giant’s rising fame. Amazon describes the series as “a darkly comedic fantastical coming-of-age joyride” and a “mythical odyssey that questions the purpose of the mythical odyssey.” Check out the full trailer in the video above.

It is officially time to, once again, nut up or shut up.
The first trailer for “Zombieland: Double Tap,” the sequel to the 2009 comedy, dropped on Thursday and finds the original cast of Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin and Emma Stone back in zombie-fighting action.
The gang has taken up residence in an unoccupied White House, and seems to have zombie-hunting and their own family dynamic down to a science. However, a couple of new human survivors, played by Zoey Deutch and Avan Jogia, shake things up. Plus, they also have to face new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first film as they travel through the heartland.
The trailer also gives a first look at fellow series newcomers Rosario Dawson, Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch.
Original director Ruben Fleischer (“Venom”) reunited with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (“Deadpool”) for the sequel, with Dave Callaham also writing.

Sony Pictures' psychological thriller, Escape Room, arrives next month on Blu-ray and Digital. See what bonus features it includes within..
Escape Rooms are usually a fun, challenging time spent with friends to gain memories and solve clues in a team-growing environment. Some are fabricated in themes like a Sherlock Holmes mystery, others count down the end of the world, etc. What if one was real, though, and the cost of not solving the puzzle in time meant your life?
Last year, Sony Pictures explored that idea with Escape Room. On April 9, 2019 you can re-live the intense thriller when it arrives on Digital. If physical copies are more your style, the Blu-Ray and DVD will follow a few weeks later, on April 23, 2019.
For full details on everything Escape Room will include, see below...

Hugely popular short video platform, TikTok has teamed with Sony Pictures Entertainment to promote the studio’s psychological thriller “Escape Room.”
The film features six strangers who find themselves in circumstances beyond their control. They must use their wits to find and follow the clues, or die.
Sony recreated settings from the film, including a shrinking room and an ice room, in Madrid, Spain. These were used for a creator event pitching 30 key opinion leaders from 17 countries against TikTok talent from the U.K., Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Switzerland, Thailand, Malaysia and Spain.
As they participated in the challenges, both groups recorded their experiences, creating 75 pieces of video content, and sharing with their fans on TikTok’s official “Escape Room” movie page. Participating TikTok creators included the magician, Magic Singh, comedian Karol Konk and makeup artist and body painter Vicky Banham.
