A Fake Moon rises over Bristol at the Ibt festival, Philip Pullman's I Was a Rat! scurries into Birmingham, and James McAvoy tackles the Scottish play in London

The big opening this week is Roger McGough's new version of Molière's The Misanthrope at Liverpool Playhouse, which should be fun. Theatre meets music gigs in 154 Collective's Dancing With the Orange Dog, which is at Stockton Arts Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Hairspray is out on tour again and is at the Lowry in Salford. In Manchester, meanwhile, Queer Contact celebrates the best in Lgbt art and culture this weekend. The moving first-world-war drama, The Accrington Pals, continues at the Exchange. David Copperfield begins at the Oldham Coliseum tonight. This looks intriguing: at Haphazard at Z-arts on Saturday is Word of Warning's day of live art for all ages. The Edinburgh hit, Unmythable – all the Greek myths in 70 minutes...

Years back I discovered a little-known zombie flick titled Graveyard Alive: A Zombie Nurse in Love from producer-director-team Elza Kephart and Patricia Gomez. The film earned the Kodak Vision Award for Best Cinematography at the 2004 Slamdance Film Festival, Best Crossover Genre Film at the 2004 Rhode Island Horror Film Festival, and was nominated for multiple awards at the 2005 Cinevegas Film Festival. Graveyard Alive showcased great potential in the female-horror filmmaking duo and now they are back with their second feature, Go In The Wilderness, a film based on the little-known myth of Lilith, Adam’s rebellious first mate.
The film has been shot and edited, with only the sound and music left to complete and they are looking for help via Indiegogo, an internet platform which enables projects to accept online financial contributions. Their goal is to finish the film by April 2013 in time to apply to the Toronto International Film Festival.

Bernard Émond's otherwise cheerful introduction to his new film at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival included soundly attacking an “excess of images,” inciting the first round of booing I heard in response to Tiff's pre-screening L'Oreal ad—inoffensively brief after the umpteenth time any critic inevitably sees it, but whose fashions, models and locations combined surely cost more than some Tiff-selected features.
While All That You Possess grapples with materialism, its careful generosity belies Émond's ferocious sentiments. A standout amongst the fest's world premieres, All That You Possess possesses the numerous pros and sparse cons we've come to expect from Émond's films over the past decade: exacting control over actors, modestly expressive use of space, and intelligent, if slightly schematic story construction. Because of Émond’s affectless performances and minimalistic mise en scène, Bresson comparisons abound; but next to, say, Darezhan Omirbaev’s Student, which adheres so...
