Throughout "Star Trek," actor Jeffrey Combs has played ten different characters, counting his voice work in the "Elite Force II" video game, a relative of Shran in "Star Trek Online," and his quick cameo as a holographic human in the final episode of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine." More famously, Combs had three notable recurring roles throughout the franchise, playing the Vorta Weyoun and the Ferengi Brunt on "Deep Space Nine," and the militant Andorian Shran on "Star Trek: Enterprise." Most recently, he played an evil computer intelligence Agimus in three episodes of "Star Trek: Lower Decks."
The number of Combs characters increases greatly when one takes into account that Weyoun was cloned multiple times, and that audiences once saw the Mirror Universe version of Brunt. Also, hologram versions of characters count separately, right? If one wants to split hairs -- and we Trekkies live to split hairs -- then Combs has played 23 characters.

Stephen King has written hundreds of short stories and more than sixty novels, but he has only directed one movie. The goofball 1986 film Maximum Overdrive (watch it Here), which came to Blu-ray as part of the Vestron Video Collector’s Series back in 2018. Now it has been announced that Vestron Video has put together a special steelbook release of Maximum Overdrive – and this steelbook will only be available at Walmart! The street date is May 30th, and pre-orders are already been accepted on Walmart.com.
Images of the steelbook case can be seen at the bottom of this article.
Based on King’s short story Trucks, Maximum Overdrive has the following synopsis: After a comet causes a radiation storm on Earth, machines come to life and turn against their makers. Holed up in a North Carolina truck stop, a group of survivors must fend for themselves against a mass of homicidal trucks.

Ken (Dale Midkiff) and Bob (Preston Maybank) land in a propeller plane and speed off on motorcycles to a large mansion. Ken calls Julie Clingstone (Debbie Laster) via radio as Bob scales the side of the building. Julie wants him to give her access to “the mainframe” when suddenly, somewhere a puppet (yes, a puppet) begins yelling Danger! Danger!, obviously aware of the imminent intrusion. Edward Brake (Wellington Meffert) is sleeping in bed in the mansion while Bob takes off his necklace and lays it on the ledge after reaching the mansion’s roof. He rotates a parabolic dish and the puppet, operating some sort of a crude computer and using telepathic powers, makes the necklace turn into a sphere (think Phantasm). Bob starts to bleed from the face and falls to his death. The action breaks into the opening credits to “Nightmare” as sung by Miriam Stockley.

January 19th has some really unique home entertainment releases that should make fans of cult cinema happier than Jason Voorhees on the first day of summer camp. Scream Factory is debuting William Friedkin’s The Guardian on Blu-ray this week and one of my personal favorites from my childhood, The Ice Pirates, is also getting an HD overhaul, courtesy of the Warner Archive Collection.
Vinegar Syndrome is also keeping themselves busy with a duo of cult classic releases, Nightmare Weekend and Luther the Geek, and for those of you sci-fi TV fans, season one of 12 Monkeys as well as the final season of Continuum arrive on Blu and DVD this Tuesday as well.
The Guardian (Scream Factory, Blu-ray)
William Friedkin, the Academy Award winning director of The Exorcist, delivers a new kind of fairy tale for adults. A handsome young couple finds the perfect live-in babysitter to look after their newborn child.
