Big Brother finalist Jack McDermott has quit his day job after scooping £23,900 on the show.
Jack, who finished fourth in the 2015 civilian series, explained that he left McDonald's to "try new things".
"After coming out of the house, it was something I had to consider," he told the Plymouth Herald.
"I spoke to my friends, family and boss to find out their thoughts, and they've all been really supportive. I'm doing this to try new things and to do more of the things I enjoy.
"I'm going to miss it like mad, though. The people, the staff and the customers have made the past seven or eight years absolutely incredible.
"I'll look back on my time with happy memories, that's for sure. In all honesty, if I didn't win the money that I did, I'd be back there now in a flash. It's as simple as that."

Danny Wisker came out of the Big Brother house in third place last night, finishing only behind Chloe Wilburn and Joel Williams.
The finalist spoke to reporters this morning, and discussed romance prospects with Aisleyne and Sarah, how difficult he found living with Marc, and those alleged tweets of his that surfaced during his time on the series.
Big Brother Chloe Wilburn interview: 'I'm absolutely gobsmacked - it doesn't feel real!'
Hi Danny. How do you feel about coming third?
"I feel really overwhelmed. Honestly, hand on heart, I didn't think I would come third or anywhere close to the final to be honest with you. Yeah, I'm really overwhelmed and trying to take it all in. I was shocked and just really, really happy."
Quite a few people were saying that it looked like you thought you were going to win. Was it frustrating hearing those comments, and how did that affect you?...

"I'm a bit sad it's all over, but excited to see what happens next. Yeah, just a bit tired with everything."
Did you expect to exit the house to such a good reaction?
"No, I was always the type who is most pessimistic when it came to public reaction, so any cheer was very valuable to me, and it meant a lot to have such a great reaction – so thank you.

We're just days away from finding out who will be the Big Brother: Timebomb champion, and it's shaping up to be one of the most open-ended finals in a long time.
We at DS have our own opinions on Chloe, Cristian, Danny, Jack, Joel and Nick - so we've decided to rank them from worst to best. Feel free to share your own order in the comments at the bottom.
6. Danny Wisker
One of the longest-running debates of the series is whether or not Danny is actually as nice as he appears to be. In a recent task, the public said 'yes' but we remain far from convinced.
At the very least, we think he's a game player - becoming the alpha male in the house backed by a handy group of followers. To give him credit, he's played the game very well, making the final and barely breaking a sweat.

Big Brother's Jack McDermott got covered in fake tan, as housemates spent the day trying to earn cash for the prize fund.
In highlights airing tonight (July 12), the housemates are set a series of challenges to add to the winner's pot. Little do they know that Big Brother would later offer them the opportunity to steal the day's earnings for themselves.

The housemate agrees, but said: "I don't like tanning. I don't see the point in it. I don't want to be orange."
However, instead of one round of spray tan, Jack receives five to his displeasure.

Big Brother threw another Cash Bomb curveball last night (July 10), forcing the housemates to choose the second person to be evicted after Harry Amelia Martin.
Sam Kay, Jack McDermott and Chloe Wilburn each had to open an envelope they had chosen, which placed a value to be added to the prize fund upon their eviction.
Chloe's was £10,000, Jack then chose an envelope with the amount of £1,000, and Sam's was valued at £15,000.
The housemates were told to decide amongst themselves who would be leaving and how much money would be added to the fund.
Joel Williams refused to take part on principle, adding Danny Wisker and Cristian Mjc should make the decision. The rest of the housemates agree to pick Sam and the £15,000.

For a third week running, Digital Spy readers want Jack McDermott to be evicted from the Big Brother house.
Out of 16,253 readers who voted in our poll, 42.9% (6,981 votes) are hoping to see the housemate from Plymouth voted out in tonight's (July 10) show.
Chloe Wilburn came second with 22.3% of the votes.
Harry Amelia Martin drew 20.2%, while Sam Kay looks unlikely to leave with only 14.5% wanting her gone.
Jack had dominated the voting when the poll went live on Tuesday morning. However, both Chloe and Harry have been gathering momentum after the last few days of highlights.
Last week, Jack comfortably topped a DS poll asking who should be evicted, but it was second-placed Marc O'Neill who was kicked out by the British public on the night instead.

Big Brother's Harry Amelia Martin and Joel Williams have fallen out again, with Harry accusing Joel of speaking to her "like a piece of s**t".
In highlights airing tonight (July 10), Harry is in a bikini cuddling Nick Henderson when Joel covers her bottom with a paper towel.
"If I wanted to watch porn," Joel comments, to which Harry responds: "If this is porn, seriously you've lived a vanilla life."
Joel then asks Harry about her sexual past and her future with Nick, before calling her a contradiction.
In the day's task, the housemates are presented with eight mean tweets and must guess which post refers to which housemate. However, Danny Wisker actually wrote four of them - it's his secret task to ensure that no-one finds out.

Big Brother's Chloe Wilburn and Danny Wisker have made up after rowing about Chloe's decision to take the £5,000 the day before.
Chloe was accused of hypocrisy when she claimed the money for herself, despite insisting that everyone should be working together to raise the prize fund.
In highlights airing tonight (July 10), Chloe continues to express regret at accepting Big Brother's offer.
"Everyone's going to hate me after yesterday," she says in the Diary Room. "I just regret it so much.
"I'll accept that my housemates are disappointed in me. I'd have never stabbed anyone in the back. People at home are going to think [I'm] selfish."
In the bedroom, Danny explains to Chloe that he was simply "shocked" by her decision.
"My initial thought was shock, because I didn't think you would do it," he comments, before Chloe replies: "I honestly thought everyone was going to get that chance.

Big Brother's Joel Williams and Harry Amelia Martin have both refused to take £5,000 for themselves, instead putting the money into the prize fund.
But Chloe Wilburn and Sam Kay chose differently, and get to keep five grand each.
In highlights airing tonight (July 9), Big Brother calls Chloe, Sam, Joel and Jack McDermott into the Diary Room individually to offer each of them £5,000.
They must choose whether to take the money for themselves or add it to the overall prize money.
Joel does not take the cash ("I spent £2,500 on the pizza, and I regret that"), while the other three wish to keep it.
Harry, Danny Wisker, Cristian Mjc and Nick Henderson are then told to guess what the four housemates did. If they are correct, they are offered the choice of keeping that money for themselves or placing it in the winner's pot.

Last night's highlights were dominated by an endurance task, as all eight housemates were challenged to hold on to a money bag for as long as possible.
Honestly, it was a pretty uneventful day (aside from the extra £20,800 for the prize fund, of course). But we're still going to deliver our daily verdict on who impressed us and who really didn't.
Good Day
Jack McDermott
The way he awkwardly eavesdropped on Harry and Nick early in the day was a bit odd. Otherwise, Jack did very well in yesterday's episode.
In the endurance task, Jack had a £0 money bag and wasn't expected to last long at all (Chloe called him "weak-minded" when she justified her decision to allocate Jack the amount). However, he exceeded expectations by proving himself to be a team player.
Jack turned down the opportunity to speak to his father, and most likely would have reached Big Brother...

In highlights airing tonight (July 8), a total of £25,000 is up for grabs. The housemates must hold up a money bag by a rope for an unknown amount of time.

After seeing Big Brother take away more than two thirds of the prize fund, the housemates were given an opportunity to claw back some of the money.
In highlights airing tonight (July 7), the contestants are set various challenges alongside a golden envelope containing mystery amounts. When completed, the amount inside the envelope is added to the prize fund.
Below is a round-up of the challenges and how the housemates fared:
Harry and Nick
Harry Amelia Martin and Nick Henderson are given a restraining order, and to pass the challenge, they are not permitted to be in the same room together.
Nick makes a number a jokes about being relieved ("thank god for that"), which greatly annoys Harry.
At one point, Nick wants to go to the bathroom, but Harry is blocking his way by refusing to leave the garden. Joel tries to reason with Harry by calling her behaviour "unfair", but Harry is unresponsive.

The Cash Bomb twists kept on coming in last night's highlights, as Harry, Jack, Nick and Sam were offered the chance to seal their place in the final... at Chloe's expense. Elsewhere, letters from home got most of the housemates emotional.
But who did we enjoy watching, and who left a negative impression? Read on for our daily verdict on all the Big Brother action.
Good Day
Jack McDermott
After Joel hilariously paid £2,500 for a tiny pizza, Jack decided to have his own bit of fun. Selfish? Perhaps, but this mischievous side is one we don't see that often and a welcome change from the usual moaning Jack.
When he offered four grand for a Plymouth Argyle football result, Um Bongo and a blazer and trousers, we really hoped it would happen. Sadly, Jack received some intense backlash from Chloe (more on that later) and pulled out of the deal.

Big Brother gave the housemates an opportunity to win a letter from home, leading to many tears being shed.
In highlights airing tonight (July 6), the contestants are presented with a pile of eight letters - one for each of them - but must roll a tombola to determine their fates.
There are three types of balls in the tombola they can pick up at random: "win", "choose" or "lose".
"Win" adds an extra £5,000 to the prize fund and allows the housemate to save a letter of their choice. "Lose" forces the housemate to destroy a letter, while with "choose", the person has to decide whether to add £5,000 prize money or preserve a message.
Chloe Wilburn goes first and draws "lose". She sacrifices Joel Williams's letter, reasoning that his mother came in during the Time Warp task.
Cristian Mjc and Danny Wisker pick up "choose" and save Chloe and Nick Henderson's letters respectively.

Big Brother's Joel Williams has been flashing the cash, spending a whopping £2,500 of the show's prize fund on a pizza.

Big Brother's Sam Kay, Harry Amelia Martin, Nick Henderson and Jack McDermott are facing eviction next week.
In the latest Time Bomb twist - Cash Bomb - the £150,000 winner's prize was gradually dropping, but to stop it meant nominating a housemate for eviction as well as making themselves immune from being nominated.

This means Joel, Danny and Cristian were all safe from being nominated. After some rule-breaking, meanwhile, the prize fund is currently standing at £48,400.
The Cash Bomb challenge saw a big red button placed in the middle of the living room and the prize fund – initially standing at £150,000 - on the plasma.

In the latest Time Bomb twist - Cash Bomb - the £150,000 winner's prize was gradually dropping, but to stop it meant nominating a housemate for eviction as well as making themselves immune from being nominated.
Joel Williams nominated Sam, Danny Wisker went for Harry, Cristian Mjc picked Nick and Sam chose Jack.

Big Brother's latest task has sparked another argument, with Danny Wisker and Marc O'Neill throwing water at one another as they shared a therapy session.
The pair - who have previous when it comes to rows in the house - ended up arguing during the 'Know Yourself' task which saw Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace acting as a counsellor to housemates and inviting them to discuss their issues in therapy.
First in for a chat was Jack McDermott and discussions focused on his sensitivity.
Next through the door were Harry Amelia Martin and Nick Henderson, who spoke about their relationship troubles.
Nick said of themselves: "It's bad when it's bad but when it's good it's the best thing ever."
Joel Williams's issues centre around his problems with authority figures and a lack of respect for them - he eventually admitted he is "a strong-willed individual".

As the final gets ever closer, Big Brother housemates Jack McDermott and Joel Williams are bickering over the eventual prize money.
The pair have already been seen arguing after Jack ate a forbidden pastry earlier this week.
In scenes to be shown tonight (July 4), Jack revealed he no longer trusts Joel, saying: "He lies too much about silly things."
The two then continued arguing, as Joel told Marc O'Neill and Jack he would rather win the show with no money prize than just have the money.
Jack said he thought Joel was lying, before Joel challenged Big Brother to give him the opportunity to "put his money where his mouth is".
That idea led Joel to speculate on whether a money twist from Big Brother is coming soon. "There is definitely a money thing coming up," he said.
Joel is indeed right. As Emma Willis revealed on Friday night, the...

We saw Aisleyne leave the house and Marc evicted live last night (July 3), but in the highlights, Hotel Bb closed down as the shopping task came to an end.
A mini-revolt ensued - and let's not forget pastrygate - but who had a good day in the house and who struggled to leave a positive impression? Read on for our daily verdict on all the action.
Good Day
Jack McDermott
Yes, Jack got into a huff again (more than once, actually), but he was quite endearing in last night's episode.
With Marc egging him on, Jack played a prank by pretending to eat a croissant which he wasn't supposed to. Joel and Chloe snapped, and even though Jack was breaking the rules, it was actually amusing to see him take that bite out of a pastry. Mayhem ensued, as nearly everyone got involved to have their say. And you know what?...

Marc O'Neill is the tenth housemate to be evicted from Big Brother.
Marc, Harry Amelia Martin, Sam Kay and Jack McDermott were all on the chopping block this week, but Marc took the walk of shame for topping the public vote.
Out of 17,668 readers who voted in Digital Spy's latest poll, 45.9% (8,117 votes) picked Jack as the contestant they most wanted gone. Second and third place went to Marc and Harry respectively.
Speaking to Emma Willis, Marc acknowledged that his nominations from fellow housemates didn't come as much of a surprise.
"I was arguing with them cos I was bored out of my mind," he explained. "They sit there and be happy and it's like f**k this, so it made me happy [to antagonise them].
"I'm a c**t, I'm a very bad person. Sure, I was doing it on purpose to annoy them. If they didn't nominate me, I'd feel disappointed.

For a second week running, Digital Spy readers want Jack McDermott to be evicted from the Big Brother house.
Out of 17,668 readers who voted in our poll, 45.9% (8,117 votes) are hoping to see the housemate from Plymouth voted out in tonight's (July 3) show.
Marc O'Neill came second with 25.4% of the votes.
Harry Amelia Martin drew 15.6%, while Sam Kay looks unlikely to leave with only 13% wanting her gone.
Harry had been below Sam in the voting, but is picking up momentum after the last two days of highlights.
Last week, Jack comfortably topped a DS poll asking who should be evicted, but it was second-placed Simon Gross who was kicked out by the British public on the night instead.

Big Brother's 'legendary' housemate Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace ended up in tears yesterday after her love interest Danny Wisker got into bed with Hotel Bb guest Jasmine Lennard.
Jasmine had spent the night in bed with Cristian Mjc, but when he returned to the staff quarters, she decided to get into bed with Danny.
"Look at you, bed hopper," joked Marc O'Neill. "Now who's polyamorous?"
But things took a turn when Cristian walked back into the bedroom and spotted the pair, as Marc teased that he looked sad and guest James Jordan joked: "He goes to work and this is what you do."
Cristian wasn't the only one to be upset by the turn of events, as Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace complained: "There's even less reason for me to stay now because Jasmine and Danny are getting it on. I'm going."
She even threatened to leave by walking towards the fire exit door,...
