My Favorite Characters in Ozark

Martin 'Marty' Byrde-

Seriously is their anyone else to dethrone this king. The second season kinda was a set back for his character but holy crap this guy kills it in this role. This is not only is he the best character in the show but this is by far he best work he has ever done. Arrested Development is still good but man Bateman has never been this good. And he has been in dramatic work to prove that he is not only a comedic actor, but this is unlike any other character he has ever played before.

Ruth Langmore-

Yes she is my second favorite character in the show. And each season she just gets better and better. Holy crap and she is not a Mary Sue. I saw someone comment that they made Ruth to much of a bitch or even to man hating. Like really season 3 she is so vulnerable that you can't help but route for her. And she deserve that damn Emmy because she is amazing in season 2. But also you can really tell where she is coming from in how she acts and how only family she can trust but even that can stab you in the back sometimes. She has grown so much as a character and I can not wait to see where they go with her in season 4.

Roy Petty-

O man he was so awesome in the episodes he is in. I love his dynamic he had with the Byrde family throughout most of the entire show. Because he is a good detective but he just has to go in a certain direction in order to get what he wants. And a good protagonist is only as good as their antagonist. Which this guy is.

Wendy Byrde-

She has never been this good. And thank god Jason Bateman and Bill Dubuque along with all the writers not make her another "wife" character. I couldn't stand Skylar White, sorry but she played the wife of Walter White. But Laura Linney isn't playing Marty's wife, she is Wendy Byrde. Along with Jason season 3 is her best she has played any character throughout her whole career. She is never second in command to Marty but both of them are still pawns within the Cartel they are working for which makes this show so much better than anyone gives this show credit for.

Ben Davis-

Already within one season this guy has jumped into my top 5 characters in this show. Because holy crap he came in and destroyed everything he put into this role. Amazing has Wendy's brother and from episode 6-9 is award worthy performance. This guy should be a breakout star because this is something incredible that all actors should be considering to study in how to act in a show that has a 10 episode arc to keep the attention from the audience and make everyone else embarrassed that they passed on this role or sad they didn't get it.

Helen Pierce-

Helen is such a good character, and I was afraid I wasn't going to like her when she was introduced but I have to say she won me over. And damn this show once i started to like her character they do something that they can never come back from. In a good way tho. But holy crap she is awesome she did get better and better in her role throughout the show.

Jacob Snell-

I have been a huge fan of this guy since I first paid attention to him since Tyrannosaur which I have to say Jason Bateman must love that movie because Paddy Cosdine is in The Outsider. But back to Mullen is not only a great actor but a pretty damn well director. Which makes him a better actor in some scenes with him and other actors because he immediately pulls your attention to him.

Darlene Snell-

I hate flat out hate the crap out of Darlene. She is despicable, get what she wants, and a flat out evil character. BUT I also love her as well. She is a character who you love to hate. Which I do and that is more evident in season 3 plus it does pave the way for her character in season 4.

Charlotte Byrde-

These kids are not terrible actual. She is a really good kid character but she does have some teenage angst that did get on my nerves but I'm telling you season 3 proves why Charlotte is going to have a big season 4 arc with her maybe killing Ruth but her Jonah can switch places on this spot. But I do like her subtle growths as a character in this show.

Jonah Byrde-

This mother f-er is going to kill someone. Maybe Ruth in season 4. Hell I want to see both the Byrde children blow Darlene away. Plus this kid as gotten to be a better actor throughout the whole show because he is disturbingly great as he has gotten older.

Wyatt Langmore-

Other than Ruth I have not really cared much about the Langmore family. I know Wyatt and Ruth are cousins and their family dynamic with their fathers is a nice touch to add more to their characters but that is about it. Both Ruth and Wyatt's fathers are good characters but are not that memorable in the grand scheme of things. But Wyatt is still a pretty good character.

Rachel-

Flat out she is hot and I couldn't stop looking at her when she was on screen. So she is a great character and very unpredictable in her direction where she is going. Which is great and she did a great job.

Del-

Great character, but you know.

Omar Navarro-

We finally see him. But he still proves he is the boss in season 3.
