Some Kind of Heaven (2020)
Well written and done
In the Florida area Some Kind of Heaven is an interesting movie about life in this retirement community. It is a unique community. My friend Christian Vazquez produced this and I am so proud of the work done on this documentary. Me and my Mother watched this film and found great enjoyment. I love the youthfulness and fun and interesting story lines within this movie. It is professionally directed. There are some problems that the people go through such as drug use, sex, and it is interesting to see day to day life in retirement in Florida. I am thoroughly impressed with this movie and it deserves accolades.
THX 1138 (1971)
Robert Duvall great acting
Set in the future and the first movie directed by George Lucas, this movie has good cinematography, story writing, and average modern human conflict. It shows many life themes such as connection between men and women, sexuality, and modern day governance and surveillance. It is a very interesting movie and Robert Duvall was cast as the leading actor. The leading actress does an excellent job as THX 1138. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie even in 2024. Me and my family members have been fans of Star Wars and the movie American Graffiti. It is clear that live in California has had significant influence on the movies created by George Lucas.
Kids (1995)
Teenage Angst
Kids takes place in New York City and follows a couple of teenagers. The direction is good and the NC-17 rating is warranted. As an adult I find it interesting how they depicted a young woman going in to a planned parenthood center. It is interesting to follow the boys in the story and understand their conquests. Typical 90's New York scenes with skateboarding, cigarettes, and the life of being a young teenager interested in sex and getting around with girls. The female actors do a great job. This movie was recommended to me by a friend early High School, I did not watch it then but as an adult I can appreciate this movie.
Pumping Iron (1977)
Into the World of Bodybuilding
I really enjoyed watching this movie. It details the journeys of Arnold Schwarzenegger and other contestants in the Mister Universe competition. Body building in the 70's was huge and this type of movie helps spread awareness of the hard work and dedication these athletes go through.
I particularly found it really interesting and cool that they added a scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger and some ballerina's working together. It is important to learn the flexibility side in addition to the strength side of body building.
Lou Ferrigno the American is the main competitor and his story is followed as well. Thoroughly enjoyable film.
Toy Story 4 (2019)
2019 hit with 90's nostalgia
Toy Story 4 is a great movie. Action packed and full of adventure.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
Long Live the King
If you like action, sound, this is a well done movie.
