Chill Factor (1999)
Good back story
I found this movie enjoyable and a bit fun to watch. From an entertainment value I give it high marks. Nothing offensive just an unlikely adventure. I didn't ever feel compelled to turn away. I wanted to know what would happen. I cared about the characters and enjoyed the wild ride. Crazy premise but so are a lot of much less watchable films. No modern day issues so it was spot on in my view. The film is well cast with the diabolical messed over bad guy seeking a well paying revenge. I would actually watch again for the comedic comraderie between Cuba Godding jr and Skeet Urich. I reccomend for adventure and clean fun.
Panga (1991)
The horror and the Demon are real.
Entertaining and a good back story in the reveal segment. The horror builds slowly at first and is well done. The European character violated a taboo which brought the curse and the Demon to all involved.
They interfered with something that was nothing to do with them and paid the price. The doctor is my favorite character. Better than many current so called pointless horror films actually. Christopher Lee is spot on. A little mysterious and sinister but lends authenticity to the story and the action. Lots of blood slashing and gore but totally has replay value when looking for an atmospheric blood fest.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Complete idiocy
Gory nonsensical story. Uber violent and silly premise. Ok for the least astute. No favors to Idris Elba casting him in this messy disaster.
Belgravia (2020)
Absolutely superb period drama
The settings the excellent characterizations and engrossing story make this a spot on winner. Thoroughly it is astonishingly good.
Vienna Blood (2019)
Absolutely brilliant
Well crafted beautifully shot and extremely smart. There is such good emotional realistic feeling in all the performances. The cast is superb. For an intelligent period mystery series it can't be beat.
Candy Corn (2019)
A little gem headed for cult classic status.
Well paced shot and acted. Surprisingly much better than expected. Good solid performances from entire cast. Good Saturday night popcorn fare and sequel potential.
The Outsider (2020)
Superb engaging intelligent drama
Stephen King at his best. Thanks for this intelligent engaging haunting mystery. Excellent cast delivers characters that you truly care about in an unspeakably horrible scenario. Best HBO presentation in some time for me. Hats off to Jason Bateman for bringing this remarkable and immersive story to the screen.
Richard III (1995)
Brilliant rendition
The stellar cast and heartfelt delivery of William Shakespeare's retelling of Richard the Third is a brilliant conception. Ian McClellan's new formation of the play proves the timeless quality of the work. Spot on.
Dream House (2011)
Brilliant thriller
Well conceived home invasion and it's aftermath thriller. You must pay attention to this one. Excellent cast and incredible twist.
Boo! (2018)
Snore Fest
Slow pacing makes this full snore fest a zero. Don't waste your time unless you want to be bored to death. Uninspired lackluster performances were delivered by all.
Mr. Piper (1960)
Sweet clean nostalgia
Was so happy to find this sweet gentle clever show from an earlier time with clean morals and kindness. No political any thing. Thanks Tubi.
The Kitchen (2019)
Disappointing waste of time and talent
Melissa McCarthy deserves better than this. If you want the story of The Kitchen get the comic books. Sadly the movie went downhill quickly for me. Best performances and most professional were from Donham Gleeson and Annabella Sciorra who brought smooth believability to their characters. Basically a comic book story that might have been better as an animated film. Common and Tiffany Haddish were particularly gross and hollow in their roles.
I Still See You (2018)
Excellent si-fi ghost story.
Well shot and perfectly cast. This story of a catastrophic events horrifying consequences is extremely engaging. Clean dialogue carries the story of the survivors lives as they work to comprehend the communications from the etheric beings as to the truth of what occurred while uncovering a killer who is in the real world and too close for comfort.
The Double (2011)
Highly under rated espionage thriller.
Very well cast with engaging plot twists and surprises. Low ratings by some reviewers may be due to inattention to the story and can be off putting but I found The Double intriguing exciting and engrossing.
36 Hours (1964)
A Hidden Gem
Somehow I missed this hidden gem of a WW 2 film of deception intrigue gile and escape. Wonderful cast and first class acting by all players. Riveting intelligent human drama about the last days of the war before D Day. John Banner completely made the film for me. Engaging start to finish.
The Girl in the Spider's Web (2018)
Disappointed
I'm sorry I wasted time watching this. The best character was LaKeith as the NSA agent. The color palette almost put me to sleep and the strange sisters had no chemistry for me. The fact that the girl is this uber hacker yet has to do all the over the top fighting was incongruous. They totally butchered the actual story told in the books and the zombie like sister was disgusting. I did like the kid.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
Astounding Film
I enjoyed the great performances of all the cast in this astonishingly engaging yet somewhat surreal story. Shocking at every turn yet very clear story with many surprises. Very well done. Kept me riveted till the last minute.
Too Scared to Scream (1984)
Engaging and we'll executed.
By today's (2019) dubious standards this is an excellent slasher film with good acting, plausible attractive actors and pleasing backgrounds and environment. The people are well groomed adults. Not a gaggle of sloppily clad teens. Very good casting. Though a simple story line, it's not boring by any means. A relief to see an 80's movie with real people in an urban setting and a creepy psycho killer. Tony LoBianco's directing only enhances this thriller.
King Charles III (2017)
Brilliant conception
Wonderfully acted brilliantly contrived what -might -have been story of the modern British monarchy. Thoroughly enjoyable and fascinating in its imagination of a possible future for the royal family.
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann (2019)
Riveting detailed informative
An amazing presentation of the history and facts surrounding the disappearence on Madeline McCann. . Emotional and riveting. Learned so much about the horrifying netherworld of child stealing. I was overwhelmed. Long but worth every minute of my time.
