Great story, disappointing movie
19 April 2001
Was it the fact that we expected too much, or did it just fail to deliver? That is the question. I am not alone in thinking certain aspects were simply added for the sake of a target audience, namely small children. The Jar Jar Binks character is the most annoying thing ever on screen, even C3-PO won us over eventually but Jar Jar simply spoils what should have been a great movie. The special effects are simply that, very special, this is definitely one of the most visually appealing movies in the sci-fi genre. Its a pity that ths story wasn't the focus here and the marketing of childish characters was, lets hope we get less of Jar Jar and more of the brilliant story we have come to love in the next 2 installments.

Chow Yun Fat is brilliant
19 April 2001
One of the best action movies ever made, this is a fast paced movie right till the end. Some of the best action sequences seen in any movie, the sheer chaos in each scene adds to the excitement and feel of the movie. One of the very best asian action movies, highly recommended.

Do you believe in voodoo?
19 April 2001
The story of a chemist who is investigating a rumoured drug that brings people back from the dead. This is a great movie which keeps you in suspense right through. Not a horror movie but more of a suspense type movie that enters the world of black magic and voodoo. Very underrated movie and well worth watching, great plot and the story works.

B-grade kungfu at its best!
19 April 2001
The b-grade kungfu movies are a genre on their own. What makes this one stand above is the fact it has a great story and even better fighting scenes. Pretty hard to find these days but well worth watching if you enjoy this type of movie.

Testing your faith...
19 April 2001
As we have been desensitized by movies in the modern era, The Exorcist is one of those unique movies that creates controversy to this day. Probably more disturbing than scary it focuses on the demonic possesion of a young girl. Where normally a slow build up is not in a movie's best interest, in this case its the slow build up which adds to the tension and anxiety of the viewer. Its more a case of you know something bad is going to happen and even though you think you are prepared for it, the sheer disturbing nature of watching a young girl act and look so horrible is something you can never forget. Not something you can watch too many times but it certainly makes you take a stand in your faith or lack of and is a one of a kind film.

The best martial artsfantasy movie ever..
18 April 2001
The only way you might not like this movie is if you arent a fan of the fantasy or martial arts genre. The great cast and beautiful locations are spellbinding, not to mention the awesome special effects with every fighting sequence.

Better than Pulp Fiction!!
18 April 2001
Great movie, great story, great cast. This is one fast and funny movie. If you enjoyed Pulp Fiction then I highly recommend this. If you can get around the accents and slang you will be in for a treat, it moves very fast and has you hooked from start to finish.

Funniest movie ever!
18 April 2001
Definitely the best in the series, great casting and an even better story line. This is a laugh all the way through, Jay and Silent Bob are the funniest duo in movie history. The content may be hard for some people to accept but this is a movie, and if you take it for what it is then you will no doubt enjoy it.

Comedy with a twist.....
18 April 2001
This is probably the least funniest of the series. But that is not to say its not funny, Jason Lee is at his absolutely funniest in this role, he saves what could have been a very boring movie. Ben Affleck isn't really cut out for comedy in my opinion but seems to fit into his role well.

This is one funny movie!
18 April 2001
This is a great movie, very funny! Jason Lee is brilliant and is extremely funny. Must see! Also Jay & Silent Bob are at their best as the "dynamic duo", some of their antics in the mall are priceless. One of the better films from the 'series' and if your a fan of the others I highly recommend this.

Pacino is the ultimate movie drug lord..
18 April 2001
Pacino is utterly masterful in his portrayal of drug lord Tony Montana. Great movie, famous for it high level violence but what people fail to realise is that the truly "violent" scenes are not shown but simply implied by the audience.

Sword & Sorcery ... with a vengeance
18 April 2001
Tomisaburo Wakayama is brilliant as the noble Samurai (Lone Wolf). The evil Shogun has assassinated his wife and Lone Wolf must flee to save his infant son from the clutches of the Shogun. What transpires is non-stop action and great action sequences. If you ignore or accept the b-grade blood squirting and special effects, you will find a great story of father and son overcoming the odds to continually defy the Shogun. Look out for the touching scene where Lone Wolf's young son tries to bring him water. A great movie and a wonderful tale, highly recommended if you enjoy the martial arts genre.
