The Beguiled (1971)

Clint Eastwood smooches a 12-year-old and is bed with a 17-year-old. He smooth talks his way through the film lying at every turn; gory. Reminds of the movies at the drive in that my husband and I would turn down the volume and just pay attention to each other. Scary, creepy and unpredictable. He makes an enemy of nearly all the women. Clint Eastwood at his sleeziest. It could have had a much nicer ending but that wouldn't be Hollywood. The little girl makes you think of Laura on LHOTP. Don't be fooled. They make a farce of religion which really is the worst thing. Antichrist, gross, gory, scary, don't.

The Intern (I) (2015)

Good acting. Cute but sometimes rather filthy. Sad, too.

It was a really cute storyline and the acting was great. Pretty impressive to see Robert De Niro playing a kind older man. There were two scenes specifically that would've been better left out and that were embarrassing. Other than that, it was pretty clean. I'm glad it didn't have a lot of vulgar language if any. There was plenty of drinking of alcohol. It was a typical scenario of a hard work working career woman who neglects her stay at home husband. At the end of the writers want you to root for her to keep her job because after all, it's the most important thing, right ? I was always rooting for her to find a way to spend more time with her husband. For a while, I thought the senior citizen and Anne Hathaway might be headed for an affair. I was hoping not. I'm glad it didn't go that direction.

The Greatest Love Story Never Told (2024)

Self absorbed. Narcissistic.

I wanted to find out about her for marriages and why they all ended, but I could only get through about a quarter of this documentary because J Lo comes off as one weird person who is completely narcissistic and self absorbed. Her best friends tell her not to do this and she still does it, she says "I don't need to do this, but I want to". Part of maturity is no longer having to cave into your carnal desires of self indulgence. Of maturity is thinking about other people ahead of your own self. She showed a book full of love letters From Ben over 20 years. I hope he was not riding her letters when he was married to Garner; I don't think he was. Anyway, I could only get through maybe 20 minutes of this garbage.

Snatched (2017)

Scary, suspenseful, nightmarish

It's very scary. You never know who's a bad guy and who's a good guy. If you like suspense, language, maybe you like this movie. It gave me nightmares. Goldies acting is very good as always that's why I watched the movie. I feel like Amy, probably added her personal touch which has to do with private body parts. I really should've known not to watch this movie but I gave into temptation. You know I was very bored. The only thing good about it is I suppose it has a good ending. The main characters are alive at the ending and that's a relief . It was stressful and not my kind of movie. But if you like scary and frightening, you'll like this movie.

It's unrealistic. It's definitely a soap opera kinda thing. You know from the beginning that the two main characters will fall for each other. It's very pg13ish. They thankfully don't show stuff but it past what you would want for your teen to see. This woman is married and it's not cool the way she disregards that. I'm all for marital fidelity. A better outcome in my opinion would be for the other two to get together. It's kinda pornography. She's cheating even if they don't jump in the sack. It's all about that. She should either run away or run toward. My suggestion: run away. It's a soap opera.

The Parent Trap (1998)

Cute film. Kids would like this movie. I especially appreciate there was no foul language. A little too much PDA but nothing gross. I wish they wouldn't have shown the butler dressed in bikini. Like gross.

Other than that, modest throughout. Cute plot. Great acting. Lindsay did a great job. All the actors did. I guess to be ultra famous a person just needs to get the good parts because all these actors were fabulous. Wholesome as a whole. As an adult, I find the camp scenes unbelievable because how would girls get their hands on stuff like five gallons of chocolate, or any of that stuff. They did a good job making you believe there were twins. I was always deciding how they did that.

If you like this kind of humor, you will be laughing throughout. Nearly every scene is goofy, including people singing on the street and obviously lip-synching. Alan Alden probably really sings though and he does a good job. Some of the actors sing for real. Just when you think something is great, it turns bad and then maybe it turns great again. It's a little predictable after a while because you know it's not gonna go perfectly well. The liberal agenda is pounded Home continually with no apologies . The dad is a liberal and bothered by his sons, conservative political views. There's just a little bit too much weirdness, including some guy who dies and his ghost dances around with everybody.

Notting Hill (1999)

Very pleasant. You end up being very very irritated with Julia Roberts character, and wondering why Hugh Jackman's character puts up with her. But, he's in love. I could've done without his flatmate altogether. I kept thinking he should kick him out of his flat, but then you get the impression he couldn't afford to do that. I also would've liked to seen the ending where Julia's character bails him out of financial trouble. I wondered also, if he was going to become a columnist for real and become famous and wealthy in this character. That would've been such an interesting twist to the story if she could've helped him instead of being such a drip .

Black or White (2014)

Good acting. Good storyline. Really foul language.

Emotional. Octavia is a great actress. The little girl and her grandmother are great actresses. I wish Kevin Costner didn't use such foul language but he almost always does. Other people did too. Good acting by many of the people in this film. It has a great ending. It's what I was hoping for. Kevin's character drank way too much. Pretty constantly. The judge was fair. I thought maybe this would be about hating white people but it wasn't. It wasn't about hating anyone really. I was worried about a fight scene, like NO! Don't do that! I worried about the outcome. Very suspenseful. The little girl is the cutest.

5 Flights Up (2014)

Cute. Fun.

It's cute. How this couple fell in love, but the best part is that it's an older couple, facing their senior years and considering moving from their apartment that they've lived in for so many years. They do have to walk several flights of stairs every time they leave the apartment. I could see why they would want to move or would consider moving. I certainly would not want to be walking five flights of stairs, even when I was young. But there's humor, and this couple is madly in love with each other and argue like most couples argue , but they always settle it agreeably. He seems like such a kind person. She's the usual wack doodle who talks too much but he loves her because of it.

I wanted to see their interpretation of the accident. I had always heard that there were other details that were not included here. When you hear the reports in the news, it sounded a little bit like RJ might've accidentally popped her, but this movie looks more like, she was high and it was just an accident. Interesting. Only God knows. The actors were pretty good. Marilyn Monroe's actress was very plastic. Maybe Marilyn was like that though. I knew Natalie's mother was a monster and this actress did a good job of portraying that . I didn't realize Natalie had so many boyfriends. She tried to have a normal life.

Cancer patient

You should know this is about a cancer patient. It's not a romantic comedy. It starts up pretty funny and laughable and enjoyable. There's plenty of foul language and some nudity. If you just want it. Chill out and not take it too. Seriously you might enjoy it. If you think about colon cancer and how serious that honestly is, this might not be the movie for you. I wouldn't have matched Kate Hudson's character with the romantic partner in this movie. They didn't really match if you asked me. If you can just enjoy it like entertainment and not get too serious , maybe you could enjoy it. If you're going through cancer. I wouldn't watch it.

After All These Years (2013 TV Movie)

Very captivating. Whodunnit.

Very good acting and a very captivating storyline. The woman who was the main character was excellent. I appreciated. There were actually no foul language. I also appreciated. There was no sex. It's definitely PG-13 material because somebody dies and everybody's having affairs with everybody else the ending is very surprising. That's why it's a good who done it. Quite entertaining. You end up feeling suspicious of everyone. It has you on the edge of your seat all the time. It made me laugh. It was also pretty sad. The one old guy when he found out that his wife was having an affair Made me cry. He stood up for her until he couldn't any longer. I did cry at that part.

Benny & Joon (1993)

Amusing. Mostly cheerful.

Fun; touching; you know Sam and Joon will get together. You hope Benny gets together with the girlfriend. You hope they all get married. I didn't like seeing them in the sack before marriage. I don't know how people take time to notice flaws in the film. I just watch and try to enjoy without working at it too much. Glad there wasn't too much bad language although once was enough. Glad it wasn't too weird. It was pretty normal for Johnny Depp and he was funny. He seemed much younger than 30. He's a good actor. All people were good at acting. When he climbs the building, you're like "we know that didn't happen ".

97 Minutes (2023)

Pass. Too violent constantly but plot is boring.

Alec Baldwin is better at comedy. This plot is boring. You expect some violence but it just gets too much really fast. The operative guy is so mean and nasty that he hardly seems like an ally. I'm old too but it feels like Mr. Baldwin is not at the top of his game here. He can no longer rely on his good looks. He seems like he would be retired. But they don't care. They got my money for the rental. Just a bunch of tenseness. I've never liked disaster movies anyway. My bad. I don't know how it ended. All I could stand was about twenty minutes. I wish they didn't require so many words. I could say it all in a lot less time.

So weird. So so weird. It's quite distressing turn after turn. If you wanna cry, this is movie for you. You might laugh but not for comedy. I thought maybe it would be a little cheerful with all the great Christmas hymns. Not so much. Everyone is depressed. People are in hospital. Not a feel good movie. There are some happy things towards the end. Definitely a soap opera. Susan Sarandon is one of my favorite actresses. You know, most Christmases are better than this, or happier. So glum. I can only be glad my life is better. Maybe that's the good news. Oh and the actress who has altzheimers? Once she breaks character and emanates cheerfulness! It was NICE!!!!

Anne Hathaway is a stellar actress. She makes every part she does perfectly believable. She's brilliant. Frankly, I agreed with the father of the young girl who is in love with the older guy. I would've behaved differently though. I probably would've given permission for them to marry. It's not my life though. I'm not interested in opera. I'm not interested in all this drama. It's pretty predictable. You really see it coming from a long ways away. Well, and Hathaway has another acting gig accomplished. She earned a lot of money for doing this . She proved her acting abilities. I think some people will do anything for money.

It Runs in the Family (2003)

I suppose this is what some see as an average family. But not every average husband cheats on his wife; not every average teen grows and sells weed; not every puberty boy looks at pornography. Kirk Douglas was compelling. Michael Douglas' character was not such a good person but gets it together. The grandmother was the most likable character and more like a regular person. The scene with the friend of the grandfather and the friend's final resting place! Really? I don't think so. Definitely not a film you would want your teen to see. No good examples there except the younger boy. It's good Michael's character said "guilt is stronger than lust".

Enough Said (2013)

It was endearing. At some point you feel irritated with Julia and her character at least temporarily. Acting is good. His character is likable. He does need to lose weight, but he reminds us all of our husbands in an endearing way. It's cute and sometimes funny. They definitely believe in sex before marriage or even sex after the first few dates. Just to let you know. Can relate to the empty nest syndrome. The plot is a little too much of a coincidence but it's a drama, right? If you can just watch it, and think of it as entertainment, and not real , then you don't get all in a knot. It's a lot better than some of the stuff out there.

Language is raunchy. There's no humor in this dumb movie. Please don't waste your time. Halfway through the movie I couldn't stand it. My bad for even trying. It was not funny. It was just stupid and tasteless. Tacky tacky tacky. Vulgar, vulgar vulgar. Not funny at all. This Hass to be one of Tim Allen's worst projects. It could've been funny with a little bit less darkness. He probably thought it was funny. The language was completely offensive. The subject matter was disgusting. Nothing funny about it. Nothing nice about it. The blonde young woman was a good actress . You despised Tim Allen by the end of the movie.

Parts of this movie were positive. I'm glad for the gospel music. Glad for language being reasonable. Acting was good but sometimes too dramatic for my tastes.... I happily don't behave in some of these ways, Parts were very endearing. It was a bit too emotional for me. Too many difficult struggles. I kept thinking things were positive, and then it would go in a different direction. I also was very relieved that Mr. Murdoch didn't have an affair . I kept expecting that. What a relief. I'm glad it was pretty clean. Compared to most stuff out there. I only watched it because Patricia Heaton had her hand in it.

This is not a feel good program. I watched it when it first came out and I wasn't so discerning way back then. It was interesting to see a drive in movie theatre. Haven't seen one since a teenager. We got married. No longer needed the drive in.

Clint Eastwood is young in this movie. His buddy was young. Maybe this movie proves crime doesn't pay.....well, except..... They made some of the less significant characters so dumb looking and acting.

I was looking for some laughs.....I don't think you'll find it here unless you like crime, people getting shot and abused. It's scary and gross. I don't recommend.

She's Out of Control (1989)

Parts of this were relatable but mostly I ended up wanting to instruct this parent. It's unrealistic. No dad is going to be like this. It's dramatic though and meant to be exaggerated. Hopefully children obey their parents better than this and make better choices. Parents usually are much more responsible. There's no "oh, hey, I'm cool". But it's just a movie. I only watched to the end cause I had paid for it. It's no role model and NO teen should watch this. It would be a bad influence. It's not humorous. It's not admirable. It's stressful. The dad would say "You're grounded! And don't speak to me that way!" I don't know if these are spoilers.

Let's not throw out the baby with the bath water.

I watched enough of this to know it was meant to be really down on the Duggers when they have some things right. I don't agree that having so many children is my idea of fun but they seem to have prospered. They had a reality show that made them prosperous financially. The parents seem happy. The children seem pretty happy. I went to a mini seminar of Bill Gothard in my 20s years ago, and it seemed OK, but it didn't go into the depth that he later went into. I didn't ever know that part of him and his teachings. I wouldn't agree with having as many as children as your body could produce, but I might agree with some other things. I agree with dressing modestly, watching less television, following biblical principles. I just hope people don't throw out Christianity because of bad feelings about Bill Gothard, who has some things right. Use discernment.

Susan Sarandon was funny. She really was. And her character isn't really humorous but that's why she was so funny. Diane was sweet and adorable. Richard Gere, good acting. The young couple were the best characters and most positive. The plot was silly. A bit like a soap opera and the cinematography seemed less than what you might be accustomed to. Seemed below standard. Below these characters. I mean, Diane Keaton is big star. Music not memorable. Oh, and their dribble about their philosophies on marriage....don't listen! Oh and it didn't escape me that their take on religion was pretty disrespectful.
