Carrie is great, is fantastic, is one of the best films of all times, and one of my favourites films. Sissy Spacek is brilliant performancing to Carrie White (Academy Award Nominee Best Actrees), the rest of actors and actress (William Katt, Amy Irving, Nancy Allen...) are greats. But Piper Laurie is excellent, that with her performance of Margaret White, Carrie's mother, deserved an Oscar Nomination like Best Supporting Actress. Directed by Brian de Palma (Scarface, The Untouchables,...) Carrie isn't a scary movie, but is a thriller film really entertaining and interesting. If you never see this movie and you think to watch someday, do it, but watch it better in a Friday or Saturday night. My opinion: Marvelous, excellent, a classic of all times, don't lost it. Watch it.

I had the opportunity to watch this movie by means of a VHS that I have gotten in Spain, and I can really say that I like it a lot, it really entertained very much me. It is a pity that this movie has not been seen in my country, Argentina, and according to my thought, in any other country of Latin America. Precisely alone in Spain. But well, I had the opportunity to see it and I am not sorry. The movie begins when Lawrence (Joseph Fiennes) takes a psycological session where he talk about he, his two friends and a person that they have in common. Martha (Monica Potter), an American young girl, travels to London to make her new life. There, in the same flight, she will know Daniel (Tom Hollander), a young man that will fall in love at first sight of her. Then, Martha will know in a park to Frank (Rufus Sewell), an actor with bad luck in the love, that also will fall in love of her. But Martha doesn't like to both. Alone she will fall in love at first sight with Lawrence, to who she will know accidentally in the airport. Lawrence, a young man serious but a little clumsy, will also fall in love with her. But Martha doesn't know that three guys that she met at same time are friends. How will react when she know the truth??? This movie has a resemblance to the typical American romantic comedies, being in fact an English movie. But I really recommend it for anyone. It is such a simple movie that it will catch you from the beginning until the end. It should not really allow it to happen. The performances of Potter, Fiennes, Hollander and Sewell are brilliant, but I have heard many complaints with that the character of Potter could have been interpret better by Julia Roberts. For my, Potter is quite well in this movie. It is a pity, but this movie should really have been watched here in Argentina and Latin America of Spanish Language. My opinion: A great movie, Really if you have the opportunity to see it, it doesn't waste it, will see it. Amusing, pleasant, funny, a great romantic comedy. Don't get lost it.

Really "Muriel's Wedding" is one of the best movies of the 90 '. Is a film about the dreams that we have and we want to carry out.
Muriel, a quiet and shy young girl that constantly lives in a dream: to know the man of her life and to marry with him. Muriel lives with her family: her father, a future councilman, but put in the corruption, her mother, put in her own world and her four vague siblings. She had everything, until their "friends" decide to take it to her out of the group because her not this in the "level" of certain girls. She doesn't know how to get dressed, she doesn't know how to put on makeup, and she listens music of the 70 ', in fact, it is fanatic of ABBA. For that reason their "friends" expel her of the group. But in a trip of vacations, Muriel finds her old friend of the high school: Rhonda, a young girl most happy and nice that Muriel. Thanks to Rhonda, Muriel changes her personality, now she dressed very well, she uses very well the make-up and she is most sociable now. But Muriel still dreams of finding that man of her life. But one day, she reads those magazines of where one search to know people, and she finds him.... for to know what will happen you must watch the movie.

There are very funny scenes, mainly when Muriel's sister always tells her: "You're terrible Muriel" One of the best australian movies and one of the best movies seen in the 90 '.

A moving story about the illegal inmigration

As in Argentina, France, Italy, Spain and United States, among other, they suffer of the illegal immigration. This movie transports us toward Switzerland, country recognized by its neutrality and hospitality toward the rest of the world. The main characters are a family of Turks that they yearn to be able to go to the earth of their dreams: Switzerland, to feel well, since Turkey is not very economically and labor. All clever one so that Haydar and their wife can carry out their dream, carried out passports, passages... but they will have a complication, they will take to one of their children: Mehmet Ali. Of a supposition trip of pleasure toward the "earth of their dream" will go by unexpected situations, as to travel in an export craft or to try to enter to Switzerland in hidden truck, since Mehmet Ali doesn't possess neither passage neither passport. They will be in the same situation that other immigrants that want to enter there; they will go by the Alps, a beautiful place but at the same time cold and where they will happen totally unexpected situations. Xavier Koller obtains with "Journey of Hope" an astonishing realization that makes us see that each one has the dream of being able to go to the place that offers them peace, but that they will also go by unexpected moments, with an end that could be unexpected for the spectator. Deserved of the Oscar like Best Foreign Language Film 1990/1991. My opinion: Wonderful, Human, One of the Best Foreign Film Oscar winner. Don't get lost it.

Coming from Holland, this movie is one of most unforgettable work teachers of the seventh art that narrates us a special history.
One night, Anna, a polish prostitute, escapes from two mafiosi, after being violated and hit. Henk, a dutch farmer finds her on the ground of in his lands, and decide to help her, to cure her, and giving a place her in his farm. Anna doesn't speak to Dutch, and Henk doesn't speak Polish. One of the communication methods that use is through the expressions. But Henk gives Anna a book in Dutch where she goes to learning the language. When being in the Dutch farmer's house, Anna works for the cleaning him the house, in exchange for money that then is send to her little daughter Krysztyna that is in Poland, and at the same time teaching him manners. But the dark times that her step, they return, since both mafiosi that bought her the they are looking for. Henk will make the possible to protect her. The love between both will reborn step by step. For her performance, Monique Hendrickx won the Best Actress Awards in Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema in 1999. Karim Traidia, dutch director of algerian origin, achieves a story that he talks about the love between two different people in culture. But the language is not everything, is only the feeling of both people, since it is said that the love surpasses all the barriers. My opinion: An advisable film that should see everybody. Excellent, Wonderful.

The Best Foreign Language Film of the Year!!!!

I don't have words to describe this movie. It is perfect, wonderful, excellent, a work teacher full with philosophy mixing it with the martial arts, a genre completely almost missing in the world of the cinema. Ang Lee made very well mix these two elements that which finishes obtaining a production very liked for the lovers of the good cinema.
Warning:This movie is only for those that are near the pleasure of the philosophy and for those that understand the oriental culture. If you see it somebody that doesn't know all this it was them boring but without a doubt the movie is perfect. My opinion:Don't get lost the event of the year. The Best Foreign Language Film of the Year!!!!

"Søndagsengler" is a norwegian movie that have all genres: comedy,drama,religion,but about all:love.It's a pity that this movie not won the Oscar,because is most to deserved,in my case,that Kolya.The Academy Awards Jury not choose movies that,really,deserved it.Well,this movie is so sensitive,like all norwegian and scandinavian movie,and entertaining,with beautiful sequences,marvelous screenplay and excellent performances. But,I follow thinking that this movie deserved the Oscar. Now,"The Other Side of Sunday" is one of my favourites films and one of the best of all times. My opinion:You must see this movie.

A soviet film very emotive and marvelous.When I saw by first turn I to touch much,because is a realist story about the life. And is more,like is a movie of 1979,in that time not are common see a single woman with a child.Well,my opinion is that this film is like that to announce the future.Well,in this moment are more divorces,single woman with a child,homosexuality, things that in that time not are very common.The director makes very good in to think and to realize this film.Deserving of the Oscar,is one of the films more memorable that I saw. My opinion:A perfect love story.Please,see this film.

Beyond Silence is a beautiful film that you never forget. Her beautiful scenes and her story make an excellent movie. Her director,Caroline Link,make a sence film about life and love.Her music is wonderfull,including the Klezmer music with the actress,Sylvie Testud,touched in a scene.The rest of actors have a perfect performance.Presented in Mar del Plata Film Festival in 1997,the movie is one of the best pictures of this decade in Argentina. My opinion:The best german film of every times.Please,don´t forget see.Is an order.

This movie is better than Saving Private Ryan.I'm very happy that this movie won the Academy Awards.Well,won more Oscar than,"the favorite" in my case no,the Spielberg´s film.Gwyneth Paltrow is beautiful and a good actress.She makes an excellent performance and she won.The other actors:Joseph Fiennes,Geoffrey Rush,Judi Dench and other more,incluiding Gwyneth,makes an excellent and perfectly story about a Shakespeare maybe not real or maybe yes.John Madden,saw before in Ms.Brown,make a good job,but is a pity that not won the Oscar,well,I never think that Spielberg coming to win,again,this prize. In Argentina,the movie is the really won,together with Life Is Beautiful.Everybody here saw and comment. My opinion:Don´t forget see this film.I recommend.
