A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered Big Brother contestant and VH1 Famous Food host Mike Malin to fork over $323,689 after losing a claim that attorney Marty Singer had extorted him. The case made waves in the Hollywood legal community and beyond when it went up to a California appeals court last year. Malin had a restaurant business enterprise with Shereen Arazm, a judge on Top Chef Canada. Allegedly, money went missing, and Singer warned Malin via letter that a lawsuit would be filed if the money wasn't returned. He specifically wrote, "I have deliberately left blank spaces

Representing such clients as Charlie Sheen, John Travolta and Scarlett Johansson, attorney Marty Singer has become famous for sending menacing legal threats. But Thursday, a California appeals court will consider whether Singer crossed the line with one demand letter sent two years ago, later determined by a judge to be an "extortion" attempt. Singer sent the letter July 25, 2011, on behalf of Top Chef Canada judge Shereene Arazm to Big Brother contestant and VH1 Famous Food host Mike Malin. The two-headed monster of reality TV, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, are back in the biz — but their (many) haters on this side of the Atlantic can breathe a sigh of relief for now, since they’re making their return in the U.K.’s Celebrity Big Brother. For a few days now, we were all wondering whether the Hills couple was pulling some kind of stunt, since their tour through London was suspiciously well-documented by the paps. Then they made their big plans official as they entered the Bb house last night. “It’s going to be hard because I really don’t like other people,” Pratt said in a taped interview, per Us Weekly. “I’m ready to get in there. I’m ready to do battle. It’s on.”
It’s not that surprising that Speidi are returning to the reality-tv game, especially after they told Access Hollywood...

Danielle Staub could be returning to "Real Housewives of New Jersey," according to "In Touch." A source told the tabloid that Staub is in talks to return to the reality series in some capacity.
"Bravo has offered Danielle a contract,” a source told In Touch. She is reportedly "contemplating whether this will be full-time or part-time.”
However, in October, TMZ reported Staub did meet with Bravo exec Andy Cohen, but that she would not be returning. "Real Housewives of New Jersey" fans will recall In Touch regularly features Teresa Giudice on its cover.
Bravo had no comment.
Even though she was not on the show for the last two seasons, Staub remained a divisive character among the cast. The last two seasons have featured Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Jacqueline Laurita, Caroline Manzo and Kathy Wakile. Bravo has not officially announced who will return for a fifth season if the series...

Former reality starlet Heidi Montag released her "Dreams Come True" Ep on April 11, and the cover art leaves little to the imagination, showcasing the 25-year-old's surgically enhanced assets in a skimpy, hot pink monokini.
The follow-up to her 2010 album, "Superficial," the Ep features four previously released songs, including "Your Love Found Me," "Party Is Wherever I Am," "No More" and "Overdosin." The heavily Auto-Tuned "Dreams Come True" currently has a rating of three and a half stars on iTunes.
"The Hills" star famously got 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day in November 2009, including a butt augmentation and a breast augmentation "revision," and seemingly faded into pop culture obscurity afterward -- aside from an appearance on VH1's "Famous Food" in 2011. She and husband Spencer Pratt, 28, now live a more "low-key" lifestyle, reports Us Weekly.
What do you think of Montag's album cover?...

What do you do when you quit your job as a commercial airline pilot to become a reality star?
Why, you milk your 15 minutes of fame for all they're worth, of course! In Jake Pavelka's case, the former "Bachelor" is wringing the final drops of his fame in the form of a new gig as the latest Chippendales celebrity Mc.
According to TMZ, Pavelka will start his new job at the Rio in Las Vegas on Feb. 23. Unfortunately, he will not be wearing the traditional Chippendales uniform. He might go shirtless (come on, of course he will), but he won't have to wear the ridiculous bowtie and shirt cuffs.
Pavelka follows in the footsteps of former 98 Degrees member Jeff Timmons and "Jersey Shore" star Ronnie Magro before him.
Guess that VH1 "Famous Food" stardom just wasn't enough for him...

The bakery known for being run by a group of celebrities on VH1's Famous Food, Lemon Basket, is closing down. Last month, the restaurant was temporarily shut down for a cockroach infestation, and it seems Lemon Basket just couldn't recover.
The La restaurant originally opened in May so celebrities like Heidi Montag and Danielle Staub could compete in a reality series for a partnership with La's Dolce Restaurant Group. Even with the celebrity backing, the La bakery just couldn't catch on with the locals.

The restaurant profiled in "Famous Food," Lemon Basket, was recently shut down for a few days after it was cited for "cockroach infestation and harborage" by the Los Angeles Department of Health Services. The Sunset Blvd. restaurant reopened Saturday night after the health violations were remedied.
For those unfamiliar, "Famous Food" is a VH1 reality show that profiles "celebrities" like Heidi Montag, Jake Pavelka, Danielle Staub and Ashley Dupre as they work together to open a restaurant in just 28 days with a budget of $150,000. Let's hope the team doesn't run afoul of any more health codes.

Reality shows love their dramatic twists, and never is it more dramatic then to throw one at the contestants in the final episode, which is exactly what happened on 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8Pm Et on VH1). But on the way to that moment, we learned that Vinny doesn't take constructive criticism well.
He stormed off before the announcement of the winner. His ego got so out of control, he started telling judges Mike Malin and Lonnie Moore of the Dolce Group about how he's a movie star and they should have some respect.
Who knew that being a big-time movie star with a Screen Actor's Guild statue in your house means you know everything about the restaurant business?

The Daily is reporting that The Hills alum Audrina Patridge may be kissing her reality show days goodbye.
The former Dancing with the Stars contestant says that once she wrapped the first season of her eponymous VH1 series, she decided to "take some time off from reality" to do some "acting or hosting". There's no mention of any specific projects Patridge currently has lined up.
Audrina debuted this past April and followed the actress/media personality in her day-to-day life as she dealt with her growing professional career and her hectic family situation. Most notably, it focused on Patridge's mother Lynne, famous for her drunken comments about Lauren Conrad after Audrina was eliminated on Dancing with the Stars.
The official end to Patridge's series comes at a time when fellow Hills personality Heidi Montag is on another struggling reality series (Famous Food), while last season addition Kristin Cavallari recently got a spot on,...

Guess who's not going to win 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8Pm Et on VH1)? With the finale next week, and the grand opening in this week's episode, this was the time to step it up and prove why you're the best celebrity business partner possible for this venture.
Heidi Montag didn't even begin to do that. Then, at the soft opening, her own friends and PR team made things worse by apparently "performing" for the camera. You have to think that most of Heidi's publicity in recent years has been negative, so that must be what her team cultivates and thinks works.
So they went into a very dramatic monologue about how horrific the food was, and yet no one else there was having such a problem. Then, when Heidi was confronted with this news, she simply denied the reality of it.

Vienna Girardi first landed on Hollywood’s radar thanks to her leap into love as a contestant on ABC’s “The Bachelor” in 2010. At first, everything seemed to be working out for her -- she even won Jake Pavelka’s heart and the two became engaged.
But, as we all saw on ABC’s breakup special, the couple has since split. However, Girardi isn't finished with reality TV just yet. She’s currently a contestant on the second season of ABC’s “Bachelor Pad” and this time, Girardi’s not in it for love -- she's there for the money.
“I said no at first,” she told The Huffington Post about appearing on “Bachelor Pad,” adding that it wasn’t until the producers approached her and current boyfriend, “The Bachelorette 6” contestant Kasey Kahl, about appearing on the show together that she agreed, on one condition.

Heidi Montag clearly has no idea what restaurant work is really all about. When the gang from 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8Pm Et on VH1) went to a working restaurant to get some training, she first decided that as a waitress, it would be better if she drank with the customers.
"The more fun I am and the better time I'm having, the more fun the customers are having, and therefore the more money I'm making for everybody," she explained. But the restaurant boss wasn't nearly as supportive as she expected, sending her behind the bar.
Unfortunately, this proved to be an even worse idea. "When I'm behind the bar, the goal is to be entertaining, sell drinks and draw crowds," Montag said. She proceeded to try and throw drinks like in the movie 'Cocktail' to disastrous results.

On last night's 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8Pm Et on VH1), Staub took issue with the rest of the team's decision to alter her menu, and Dupre wisely decided it was better to let the former Real Housewife vent than to try shouting back.

Normally, it can get pretty annoying when Jake Pavelka is getting pretentious and preachy. But for some reason it was an absolute delight watching him turn those snarky retorts on Danielle Staub on 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8Pm Et on VH1).
"Now I know why he might be one of the most hated Bachelors," Staub said of Pavelka, an ironic claim considering her popularity with 'Housewives' fans.
The fight came when they made changes to the menu without consulting Staub. She was incensed that Pavelka hadn't texted her and called him a snake. She then asked him if they had "some of those in Texas".

My how the Heidi have fallen. Former Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt came out today to bemoan their downtrodden situation, claiming they’re broke and fundamentally unemployable after their stint as villains on the hit MTV show. The couple gave The Daily Beast an interview during which they spilled behind-the-scenes secrets, put to bed the were-they-or-weren’t-they questions about their 2010 divorce drama, and generally demonstrated how sad the life of a washed-up reality star can be.

Former Big Brother winner Mike “Boogie” Malin is being sued by a business partner who claims he embezzled money and spent it on partying, traveling and sex. The lawsuit is seeking millions of dollars in damages.

The July 17 episode of VH1′s ‘Famous Food’ had more catfights than ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ seasons combined — and here’s Danielle’s exclusive take and what you didn’t see!
Vinnie Pastore asking for more money to clean a kitchen (as I predicted he would) is out of line. We don’t need to be cleaning a kitchen and an entire restaurant that is soon to be under construction. And I love how no one is protecting “our” budget, except for me. Allowing Vinnie to spend money out of our budget to make himself feel useful makes absolutely no sense. I am not trying to be mean, but you don’t clean up a mess on a construction site before construction is completed. Vinnie said anything over $300 would come out of his own pocket, so why is he now asking for another $300 (making it $900 total that he...

Danielle Staub may have left those 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' feuds behind her, but 'Famous Food' (Sun., 10Pm on VH1) is a whole new playground for clashing.
During the first episode, Staub clashed with 'Sopranos' star Vincent Pastore, so why should episode two be any different?
After getting into an argument with Eliot Spitzer's former call girl Ashley Dupre about hot dogs and hamburgers -- Dupre called Staub mental, which set off that famous temper -- Pastore started shouting at Staub over her questions about the kitchen. This sent Staub packing, and she headed for the street to make a teary phone call.

Danielle makes it clear that she’s not on ‘Famous Food’ to make friends and you can find out each week in her own words right here!
In the season premiere of Famous Food on VH1, you see myself, Danielle Staub, in a slightly different light. I am proud to say that I’m here in Los Angeles, 3,000 miles away from my children and my home for two reasons: 1) To make great TV. 2) To win a restaurant.
The winner of the show will become partners with the Dolce Group. The premise of the show is to put together seven celebrities to open a restaurant in 30 days with $150,000 budget and a laundry list of things to do!
Stay with us through the next nine episodes. Watch relationships grow, explode, sever, reconnect and, ultimately, bring you some of the best entertainment on reality television. I should know because when it comes to...

On Sunday night VH1 debuted “Famous Food,” which may be my choice for world’s worst TV show title ever. I keep picturing little club sandwiches dancing around in fabulous Oscar gowns, leaving a trail of mayonnaise and organza behind them. Anyway, watching dancing club sandwiches might be a more satisfying experience than viewing “Famous Food” unless you’re determined to find some redeeming quality in a bunch of D-list celebrities shrieking at each other about Asian fusion cuisine. Maybe you can, oh, figure out a decent drinking game. I suggest you take a slug every time DJ Paul or Juicy J...

Did you catch Famous Food on VH1 last night? You can see lots more with the behind the scenes action (the scenes that will not be shown on tv) and reality tv stars. The hot new show follows a few of your favorite and not so favorite reality tv stars (Heidi Montag, Danielle Staub, Bachelor's Jake Pavelka), Vincent Pastore from the Sopranos, musicians DJ Paul and Juicy J and Ashley Dupre, as they all work together to open a restaurant in La.

Thanks to my long history of watching him on The Bachelorette, and The Bachelor, and Dancing with the Stars, and the Internet, I am fascinated by, and terrified of, Jake Pavelka. He is like a tiger in the zoo. Nice to look at, not much going on upstairs, and most of the time, he's tame. (And even then he's enthralling to watch.) But now and then, when his true nature takes hold, he'll snap, terrifying and sometimes destroying the lives of those around him. And if I ever saw him in person without a thick plate of glass between us, I'd probably scream and pee myself.
Thus the question of A) whether to watch Famous Food, and B) whether to document everything Jake Pavelka does on Famous Food, is a double-decker no-brainer. Everything his unpredictable brain does and says, or doesn't do and doesn't say, is of automatic interest to me.

On Sunday night, Heidi Montag made her return to the reality TV world on VH1's latest entry into the genre, "Famous Food."
On the show, Montag competes against other celebrities to open up a restaurant in Los Angeles that would be called, as the title says, Famous Food. The show's cast includes famed call girl Ashley Dupre, Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul and Juicy J, "The Bachelor" star Jake Pavelka, "Sopranos" actor Vincent Pastore and feisty "Real Housewives of New Jersey" alum Danielle Staub. What may surprise viewers, though, is which of the celebs end up becoming friends ... and then some.
"There were some shocking alliances, a little too close for some people," Montag dished to MTV News.

'Famous Food' (Sun., 10Pm Et on VH1) is just getting under way, and already the celebrities are at each other's throats. More specifically, former 'Soprano' Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore and former 'Real Housewife of NJ' Danielle Staub were at each other's throats.
The way they were going at it, if anyone tuned in and didn't recognize them, they'd just assume they were some bickering old married couple. The genesis of the spat was over what to do with the kitchen.
Staub said to gut it, while Pastore said they were planning to spend $200 toward cleaning it. Then Staub said he was interrupting her, and he should wait until she'd finished before he attacked.

Heidi Montag has described the new reality series Famous Food as "cutthroat". The former Hills star competed with six fellow celebrities in the upcoming VH1 reality series as they attempted to successfully open a restaurant in West Hollywood. Montag told MTV News that despite going into the experience with a certain amount of expertise in the area, she still found Famous Foods to be extremely challenging. "I grew up in the restaurant industry; my parents had a restaurant since I was 2 years old. There was nothing easy about Famous Food Really it was very difficult," (more)...

In just over two years, Jake Pavelka went from being a no-name, hokey commercial airline pilot to being a reality TV pond-jumper and sh*t-stirrer of the trashiest sort. But that isn't keeping him from talking like the transition never happened!
He wouldn't take no for an answer on The Bachelorette, and returned to stir up drama, shed crocodile tears over a balcony and get more airtime. This display helped him land his gig as The Bachelor, a role at which he excelled, for all his cheesy charms, until an awkward (in every sense of the word) stint on Dancing with the Stars followed by an explosive breakup interview with his ex-fiance Vienna on national TV caused his precarious star to plummet, and the word "psycho" to be frequently associated with his name. At one point, he spilled the details of their (non-)sex life to a tabloid. This summer,...

Jake Pavelka doesn't mind Brad Womack being the only second-time "Bachelor" so far, since he's not sure he'd try it again.
The airline pilot and 14th-season star of the unscripted ABC series joins many other alums of the franchise, including Vienna Girardi -- with whom he had a volatile break-up postmortem on the air last July -- in the second season of "Bachelor Pad," which ABC debuts Monday, Aug. 8. Pavelka says it took him three months to decide whether to do "Pad," but it could take even longer if he's ever asked to be "The Bachelor" again.
"There was some speculation last year in the tabloids that I was begging to come back, but that was absolutely, 100-percent not true," he tells Zap2it. "I do want to find love, and I want to have a wife and kids. That's not a part of life I want to miss, and...

Heidi Montag has admitted that reports she worked out for 14 hours a day were "a little misconstrued", but confirmed that she has been exercising intensely. Montag made headlines earlier this month when she revealed that she had been working out from 5am to 7pm for the past two months ahead of a pool party. During an interview on Ryan Seacrest's Kiis-fm radio show, the former Hills star was asked if reports about her workout regime had been "misconstrued" by the media. Montag replied: "It was a little misconstrued but I was working from around 5am to 7pm. Obviously I'd have lunch and little breaks in between. I gained so much weight on this new show I was doing, Famous Food for VH1, so I just had to get in shape." Montag, who is married to former Hills co-star Spencer Pratt, went on to detail the exercise regime (more)...

Watch the spectacular showdown below and then read on to find out more about the "Bachelor Pad" cast: Pavelka has tried to extend his 15 minutes of fame by appearing on " Dancing With the Stars ." We've been chronicling the creation of VH1's 'Famous Food' as any self-respecting rubber-necker might do, and the latest tidbit from the trainwreck-in-the-making, an official cast photo, won't disappoint.
In what many (we) are calling a reality show apocalypse, Danielle Staub, Heidi Montag, Jake Pavelka are teaming to open a restaurant. The cast also includes Ashley Dupre (call girl to New York's former governor Eliot Spitzer, but VH1 lists her as a "singer"), Oscar-winners DJ Paul and Juicy J from the Three 6 Mafia and 'Sopranos' veteran Vincent Pastore.
The cast will have to complete tasks to get the restaurant (titled Famous Food) off the ground. Restauranteurs Mike Malin and Lonnie Moore of the Dolce Group will award one lucky "celeb" with a partnership stake in the new restaurant.
The show premieres Sun., July 10 at 10Pm and you bet your bottom we'll be watching this gem.

Welcome to your Monday (June 5) serving of Zap2it's TV Snacks. We've got some interesting new show pickups, plus some old friends (and foes) return to TV.
Well, it's a good thing for Cmt that Bravo has announced there won't be any more new "Real Housewives" series. Cmt has swooped in and roped itself some "real housewives" with the new reality show, "Texas Women." It follows four women who work in the rodeo and country music scene by day and party by night. [EW]
Fans of Bravo's "Flipping Out" can stop doing just that as the show finally has a return date. Ocd house-flipper and designer, Jeff Lewis, and his nutty team return for a fifth season on Wednesday, July 6. [Bravo]
Speaking of Ocd, TLC has renewed its crazy (though fascinating) series about people who clip coupons obsessively, "Extreme Couponing." The network has ordered 12 more episodes for Season 2, which have already begun production.
