In Blood Lines, Maurice plays Leonore, an estranged mother whose homecoming upends the life of Beatrice (Solomon), a headstrong Métis storyteller and grocery store clerk. Exclusive: Jon Watts, his production company Freshman Year and producer Dianne McGunigle have been staked to a first-look feature deal with Walt Disney Studios. Under the deal, Watts will direct feature-length projects for Disney live action and 20th Century Studios with the option to produce.
Watts came from the low budget well-received Sundance indie film Cop Car to be chosen to join Tom Holland and Zendaya in the third iteration of the Spider-Man franchise. Some $4 billion in gross later spread over three films, Watts stepped out and wrote, directed and produced Wolfs, starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, for Apple. That film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, gets a limited theatrical release before bowing September 27 on Apple TV+. Watts has made a deal for a sequel of the slick thriller about two competitive shadowy guys who quietly fix messes that powerful people get into.

Two-time The Challenge champ Jonna Mannion and veteran KellyAnne Judd previously worked together during All Stars 3, and they developed a friendship outside the game. Therefore, it surprised KellyAnne when Jonna considered voting her into one of the first eliminations of the global spinoff World Championship. The two had a conversation where Jonna seemingly validated their friendship, making it hurt more when the back-to-back All Stars winner voted her in anyways, especially without warning. Many viewers thought KellyAnne spiraled as Jonna considered what to do. She recently clarified her actions and explained why the betrayal went beyond the game during a conversation with MTV’s Official Challenge Podcast.
Jonna Mannion blindsided KellyAnne Judd during ‘The Challenge: World Championship’
Before entering The Challenge: World Championship, KellyAnne Judd and Jonna Mannion were friends.
Therefore, the former expected the two-time champ not to throw her into elimination—especially the first one.
Jonna's got a Big decision to make.

The Challenge frequently incorporates themes including Rivals, Bloodlines, and Ride or Dies, forcing players to compete with their nemesis, friends, or family members for the grand prize. Both installments of Battle of the Exes (2012) were very popular among the fan base as they guaranteed drama, but the show hasn’t incorporated the former lovers twist since 2015. However, recent seasons seem to hint that a third Exes season is right around the corner.

This post contains spoilers for "Star Trek: Picard" season 3, episode 2.
If you're caught up on your "Star Trek: Picard," then you know we find out that Jean-Luc (Patrick Stewart) and the young Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers) have more in common than the retired Starfleet admiral thought. That's right — Jack is Picard's son, the result of his and Beverly Crusher's (Gates McFadden) romantic entangling before she mysteriously disappeared a couple of decades ago.
We don't know yet why Beverly decided to keep Jack away from Jean-Luc, but when I asked showrunner Terry Matalas when the idea to give the show's titular character a son was hatched, he shared that he wanted to explore this type of relationship for Picard from the get-go.
"The first question I asked, even before the 'Next Generation' characters came into it, was, 'What's the last unexplored relationship in Captain Picard's life?'" he told me in...

Declan O’Brien, a writer, producer and director who specialized in horror fare with credits including three sequels in the Wrong Turn franchise, died on February 16 at age 56.
Born in 1965, O’Brien knew from a young age that he would be involved in film. He left for California from Rochester, NY to become an actor. When that didn’t work out, he decided to go to college and get a film degree and graduated from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona. He was able to turn that into a full-time profession and became a producer, writer, and director for film and television domestically and internationally.
He made a name for himself in the horror genre by directing and writing Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead, Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings, and Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines. Additionally, he directed other horror films including Joy Ride 3: Roadkill, and 2010’s Sharktopus.

The CW has started making pilot orders.
Supernatural prequel The Winchesters, a Walker spinoff and DC universe-set Gotham Knights all have been picked up to pilot.
The move means that both stars of The CW’s Supernatural will be producing pilots for the upcoming season: Jensen Ackles with The Winchesters and Jared Padalecki with Walker: Independence.
The trio of pilot orders is unsurprising – Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva pointed to all three likely making the cut in her Pilot Season 2022 rundown. The network also handed an additional six scripts to the female-fronted Zorro series project.

Arkane Studio’s Deathloop is one of the year’s best games as well as one of the studio’s most complete, fascinating, and unmissable titles yet. Of course, it’s also a relatively short game that many will be able to beat after about 15 hours of losing themselves in it.
So if you’ve just beaten Deathloop (or if you haven’t had a chance to play it yet due to the game’s PS5 and PC exclusivity), you may be wondering what comes next. Well, it thankfully turns out that there is an elite selection of games out there which either share quite a bit of design DNA with Deathloop or do a really good job of emphasizing one of the elements that make that game great. In either case, these 10 titles will give you plenty to do while you wait for Arkane’s next immersive simulation project.

The MCU is finally back on the big screen! Marvel’s Black Widow was supposed to be the official kickoff of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but then the pandemic happened, it got bounced around the release calendar, and Disney managed to release three MCU TV shows before Natasha got to take her curtain call on the big screen.
But that’s thankfully behind us, and Black Widow delivers terrific blockbuster action in the mighty Marvel manner. And you know what that means! Let’s try and spot all the cool MCU references and Marvel Comics Easter eggs in Black Widow.
The Prologue Setting this prologue in 1995 gives us the approximate age of Natasha. If she’s supposed to be about 11 or 12 here, that conveniently makes the character the same age as Scarlett Johannsson, who was born...

Black Widow has one of the best openings of any MCU movie yet, and I will fight you on that.
The story begins in Ohio, circa 1995, where a young Natasha Romanov is living with her Soviet spy family in quasi-but-not-totally-fake family bliss. The domestic dream ends once Alexei has completed his mission, forcing the family to make a dangerous getaway from the suburbs that ends in a tarmac shootout in which Melina gets shot and pre-teen Natasha has to pilot a plane on her own in order to save her family. Once the family lands safely in Cuba, everything falls apart for Natasha and little sister Yelena. They are drugged and integrated back into the Red Room program, which trains (read: brainwashes) young girls into becoming super spies.
We see that process in the film’s opening credit montage, which is set to a familiar song…...

This Star Wars: The Batch article contains spoilers.
Back in 2002, it was impossible for fans to predict that Star Wars: Attack of the Clones would set in motion stories that we’d still be revisiting almost 20 years later. Indeed, like The Clone Wars animated series before it, The Bad Batch continues to pick up plot threads from the second prequel, presenting them in new and interesting ways.
For example, the new show explores how the Clone Wars and the rise of the Empire have changed Kamino, home to the cloning facilities where the soldiers of the Bad Batch, Omega, and all the other clones in Star Wars were created. We learn very early on in the premiere episode that the clone army’s victory over the Separatists (and the Jedi Order) may in fact lead to the downfall of the Kaminoans and the clones they created. Imperial leadership, including Admiral Tarkin,...

The Wrong Turn movies have been scaring audiences since 2003 with stories about families of deformed cannibals who reside deep in the wilderness of West Virginia and take advantage of those who make the titular ‘wrong turn’ into their territory. Throughout the years, we received five straight-to-dvd sequels via Dead End, Left for Dead, Bloody Beginnings, Bloodlines and Last Resort. Most of them have been pretty terrible, though, and none have lived up to the original.
However, next year may change that as Wrong Turn, a reboot/reimagining from The Domestics director Mike P. Nelson, will arrive and so far, it looks pretty promising. The recent trailer teased a relevant horror pic about a divided America, with a group of metropolitan liberals being taken captive, tortured and killed by the rural cannibals. It appears to be playing on the big political divide in the US at the moment and seems like...

The Wrong Turn movies have been scaring the crap out of hikers since 2003. The horror franchise is about families of deformed cannibals who live deep in the wilderness of West Virginia and prey on those who take the titular ‘wrong turn’ into their territory. Since the first film, we’ve seen five straight-to-dvd sequels in the form of Dead End, Left for Dead, Bloody Beginnings, Bloodlines and Last Resort. These have been of variable quality and, save for a couple of fun scenes, largely failed to live up to the original.
In 2021, though, that may be set to change with Wrong Turn, a reboot of the first outing from The Domestics director Mike P. Nelson. The trailer dropped yesterday and teases an extremely relevant horror film about a divided America, showing a group of metropolitan liberals being captured, tortured and killed by the rural cannibals. Rob Schmidt’s Wrong Turn wasn’t exactly a huge hit when it arrived back in 2003, earning just $28 million on a budget of $12 million. Reviews, meanwhile, weren’t particularly enthusiastic, either, with a lot of critics feeling that it was a formulaic and uninspired slasher that didn’t really bring anything new to the genre. Still, somehow, despite all that, it went on to launch a multi-film franchise. One that will continue next month with a reboot titled Wrong Turn.
Over the years, the series has become a fixture of the VOD realm with sequels Dead End, Left for Dead, Bloody Beginnings, Bloodlines and Last Resort debuting between 2007 and 2014. All of them are low budget slashers that only helped further run the concept into the ground, but it seems distributor Saban Films has high hopes for this latest effort, as it’ll be hitting theaters for one night only on...

As this writer continues to play post-Halloween catch up with reviews, here’s a look at two films I recently had the pleasure of checking out: His House from up-and-coming filmmaker Remi Weekes and Tremors: Shrieker Island, the seventh film in the Tremors franchise.
His House: After premiering earlier this year at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, writer/director Remi Weekes’ His House is now available to stream on Netflix. By blending together a haunted house story with his poignant examination of the dehumanizing treatment of refugees, Weekes creates a truly haunting experience where trauma and terror manifest in very personal ways, resulting in one of the most harrowing genre films to come along this year.
In His House, we follow Bol (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù), his wife Rial (Wunmi Mosaku), and their daughter (Malaika Wakoli-Agibaba) as they are desperately fleeing a war-torn Sudan in hopes of finding a better life in the U.

Rob Schmidt’s Wrong Turn was hardly a massive success at the box office back in 2003 after raking in $28 million on a budget of $12 million and reviews were far from enthusiastic, with many critics labeling it a formulaic and uninspired slasher that brought nothing new to a genre that had already been done to death a thousand times over, but it still went on to launch a multi-film franchise.
None of the following installments were even released in theaters, but Wrong Turn quickly became a fixture of the VOD realm with sequels Dead End, Left for Dead, Bloody Beginnings, Bloodlines and Last Resort arriving between 2007 and 2014. The second movie is the only one that was received enthusiastically, while the rest were standard low budget slashers that well and truly ran the concept into the ground.

Castlevania season 3 has come and gone. Long did fans wait for the third season of the animated series, and after just 10 half-hour episodes of monster-hunting adventures, we’re left to wait again. Unlike season 2, which tied up its Dracula storyline in a neat, blood-stained bow, season 3 leaves viewers with more questions than answers.
One of the central mysteries of the season is the origin and function of the Infinite Corridor, an alternate plane that contains doors to different points in time (and perhaps even dimensions) across the Castlevania universe. It’s with the Infinite Corridor that creepy Dracula acolyte Prior Sala hopes to open a door to Hell and bring the Dark Lord back from the dead.
Longtime fans of the Castlevania franchise will undoubtedly recognize the Infinite Corridor, which is taken straight from the games. It was first introduced in 2005’s Curse of Darkness as an alternate dimension where...
