Never say never. Former Dukes of Hazzard stars John Schneider, Catherine Bach and Tom Wopat reunited with fellow castmates Byron Cherry, Jeff Altman and Rick Hurst at Gallatin Comic Con 2023 in Tennessee recently where talk of a possible reboot of the hit ’80s TV comedy series surfaced.
“As far as a Dukes reunion,” Bach teased in an interview with Fox News Digital, “anything is possible.”
Bach starred as Daisy Duke, Schneider as Bo Duke and Wopat as Luke Duke in the hit action-comedy-drama series that aired for seven seasons on CBS from 1979 to 1985. The series, inspired by the 1975 film Moonrunners about a bootlegger family, revolved around the adventures of cousins Bo and Luke, modern-day Robin Hoods who continually tried to outwit a corrupt sheriff and “greedy rich, city slickers.”
The series also was not without controversy due to images of the Confederate flag that had been used in the show.

New year, and a host of new Netflix additions to match.
While subscribers are currently mourning the loss of Friends – after going dark today, January 1st, the beloved sitcom won’t be available until HBO Max arrives in May – Netflix has today rolled out a bevy of fresh TV shows and movies to keep us entertained, including some truly unmissable horror properties.
From Event Horizon to Cloverfield, The Amityville Horror to the Tremors franchise, Netflix’s horror category has officially been restocked. There’s plenty to choose from, too, including the 2002 rendition of The Ring, which only makes us long for a competent retelling of the Japanese horror legend to right the wrongs of Rings (2017). At least we have the upcoming Grudge reboot to look forward to on Friday (or January 24th if you happen to be located in the United Kingdom).

Bless you, direct-to-dvd industry, for churning out endlessly amusing extensions of movies that never should have been franchises in the first place. An EW staffer casually mentioned the third Ace Ventura movie earlier today, inspiring a group of us to reminisce about the most random sequels we could think of — sequels many of us were hearing about for the first time.
And so, in honor of both these little-discussed gems and the gift that is Friday afternoon, here’s a list of the genre’s most unassuming entries. Caution: It’s about to get all nostalgic up in here. (Like that’s a surprise.

The studio decided to shutter Warner Premiere early this summer, and most of its fewer-than-10 employees have already been given other jobs. But it will “continue and complete production on its remaining film and digital series project into the Fall,” the company says. Warner Premiere was created in 2006 but became superfluous as the direct-to-video market diminished. Its titles have included Free Willy: Escape from Pirate’s Cove, Ace Ventura Jr. — Pet Detective, and The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning (2007). Warner says that “the evaluation of potential digital content will be folded into Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, and Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Home Video will continue to produce and release animated films, such as Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry and DC Universe.”...

Look out for them Duke boys; they could be riding into theaters again soon. Or not.
The Dukes of Hazzard TV show enjoyed a successful run on CBS from 1979 to 1985 (with the exception of that Coy and Vance period), ending up on lunch boxes and Matchbox cars. The 2005 big-screen adaptation didn't experience the same success. The movie received mixed reviews, earned an unspectacular $111 million in worldwide box office, and spawned an unfortunate TV movie prequel, The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning, in 2007.
However, Warner Bros. may still be trying to wring something out of the property — and, if rumors turn out to be true, it could mean a movie that wouldn't receive seven Golden Raspberry nominations.

Anne Hathaway has come a long way from the young woman with grotesque fake eyebrows in The Princess Diaries. As of today, however, Anne can start preparing for her latest role (Smug Married #5), seeing as how she’s officially engaged to her beau of three years Adam Shulman. But who is Mr. Shulman, anyway, in addition to being a total babe and confident enough in his masculinity to date a literal supervillian? Learn a little more about the man who Hathaway will have extremely pale, charismatic babies with (we hope!):
Has starred in a Dukes Of Hazzard movie: Bestowing upon him the honor of co-starring alongside Mr. Willie Nelson, Adam’s most prominent acting role (of the, um, four he’s done) would be Deputy Enos Strate in the TV movie The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning. Adam and Anne didn’t start dating until 2008, so this was clearly not the work of nepotism.

Anne Hathaway is delighted with her performance in new movie One Day because it forced her boyfriend Adam Shulman to forgive her after a bust-up.
The couple had a furious argument shortly after shooting wrapped on the drama, in which Hathaway plays novelist Emma.
But The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning star Shulman found it hard to stay mad with his partner for long, because her role in One Day was so moving.
Hathaway tells Britain's Culture magazine, "My boyfriend went to see it for the first time... right after we'd had a fight - he won't mind me telling you this - then he came home and we hadn't made up yet.
"I said, very quietly, 'What did you think?'. He said, 'Okay, I was so mad at you, but, oh God, I'm destroyed right now, it was so good.' We've made up. Everything's fine. He was like, 'I so didn't wanna enjoy it, but Emma got me. It wasn't you. It was Emma.'"...

Matt Lanter (Disaster Movie), Gillian Zinser (90210 TV series), Torrance Coombs (jPod TV series) and Sara Paxton (The Last House on the Left) are set to appear in the psychological thriller Liars All.
The indie feature follows a group of friends decided to start celebrating New Years Eve together in London by playing a crazy provocative game that finally gets terribly out of hand.
British actress Alice Evans (Dangerous Parking), Tiffany Mulheron, who featured on a Disney channel show Pair of King in 2011 and Randy Wayne, most famous for his portrayal of Luke Duke in the movie The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning, also seem in a story personified by this deliberately provocative diversion.
The flick will be written and directed by Brian Brightly who recently produced the adventure movie Ironclad that hits theaters this June.

By the 1980s, the glory days of the movie grindhouse were over. Rising real estate values and rents, and urban renewal ate away at the grindhouse circuit, and down the houses came, one seedy, sticky-floored theater after another.
But even though the grindhouses died out, grindhouse cinema didn’t die with it. Like some sort of adaptive mutation, it found a new way to live in the reconfiguring terrain of 1980s movie exhibition which provided every consumer with the ability to create an individually-programmed grindhouse in his/her very own living room.
The first commercially successful Vcr was introduced to the American buying public in 1975, the same year HBO became the first nationally-available pay-tv service. By the end of the decade, a few major studios had formed “home entertainment” divisions for the purpose of producing videocassettes of their theatrical features for the home market. Within a few years, the home video business was booming,...

hollywoodnews.com: Anne Hathaway’s unfortunate taste in men was highlighted again last month, with news that the actress won’t be fighting the U.S. government’s plan to auction off the bling given to her by former boyfriend of four years, the now-imprisoned con man Rafaello Follieri. The baubles — including two Rolex watches, gold and silver rings, a Louis Vuitton jewelry box, a five-strand pearl necklace, a Tiffany clock and a Cartier figurine — will be on the block to help pay off the $2,440,000 judgment he has hanging over his head.
Also in May, her beau of the last several months, actor Adam Shulman, was accused of swiping a mural from a Manhattan construction sight. He subsequently gave back the street art and apologized, so all is well. We hope.
Even so, Hathaway fans are once again declaring that she deserves better, and wondering why someone as brilliant, accomplished...

Country-music legend Willie Nelson has lent his imprimatur to a film-production company called Luck Films. Based in Luck, Texas, Nelson and his partners will produce three to five projects per year -- most below the $3 million range. The 76-year-old himself will appear in the first pair of movies, including Shootout of Luck and The Dry Gulch Kid. And who can blame him? If you had Surfer, Dude, Beer For My Horses and The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning littering the most recent section of your CV, you'd probably seek some legacy redemption, too. [Variety]...
