Roseanne Barr is a soundbite machine -- and during a very candid interview at Comic-Con on Thursday, she didn't hold back, dissing her former reality show and one-time "Roseanne" writer Chuck Lorre. She also thinks John Goodman would make an amazing zombie. The 60-year-old comedian was one of the special guests for TV Land's Comic-Con panel, where toofab's Brian Particelli and a small group of journalists got to ask her about anything their little hearts desired.Check out the best bites from the incredibly candid conversation below:Would you ever appear on "The Big Bang Theory" to reunite with her former costar Johnny Galecki?"I probably wouldn't go on "The Big Bang" because me and Chuck Lorre, we're not friends. He should get over it. He's in AA and when people are in AA they're not very forgiving. They need to start drinking and loosen up, I think!"A little back...

[1] The steady stream of television news continues today with a couple of interesting announcements. After the jump, read about the "near miss" of a television adaptation of Vertigo comic book series Dmz, Rosanne Barr's return to sitcom television, and a fifth-season renewal for True Blood. Earlier this week, comic book writer Brian Wood wrote on his blog [2] about the scrapping of a television adaptation of his Vertigo comic series Dmz. We also had a near miss with setting Dmz up as a television show, at a verrrry respectable network, and its a bit crushing. I had hoped the whole new “DC Entertainment” meant they’d be better about this sort of thing… and this deal seemed like a gift from heaven… but apparently not. While it's possible that Wood will be able to put together another deal for a live-action adaptation at some point in the future, it seems...

Roseanne Barr is eyeing a return to the small screen with a comedy series - 12 years after her TV hit Roseanne ended its nine-year run.
The comedic actress has teamed up with former Roseanne producer Caryn Mandabach to create a pilot episode in which she again plays a family matriarch.
Barr's TV career took off in the 1980s with her stand-up comedy routine and the hit show, which went off-air in 1997.
She has since fronted a TV talk show and starred in her own reality programme The Real Roseanne Show, which aired in the summer of 2003.
According to the New York Post, the pilot episode, written by Arrested Development's Jim Vallely, has been pitched to Fox network.

Emmy-winning documentarian R.J. Cutler is looking to tackle race relations in today's America with a reality series project for FX. The project, still in development, will chronicle the lives of a white family and a black family, possibly living under one roof. "It is a provocative examination of race relations and how it affects real people," Cutler said. "It's going to be entertaining; it's going to be engaging; it's going to be challenging and provocative, but in really accessible way." A nationwide talent search is under way for white and black families to take part in the series. The new project reunites Cutler with FX, where he originally developed the reality series American Candidate, now set up at Showtime. The idea for a reality series examining race relations came out of a meeting Cutler had with FX entertainment president John Landgraf soon after Landgraf took the job in January, the producer-director said. Cutler's Fox/PBS series American High won an Emmy for best reality series in 2001. His credits also include Showtime's Freshman Diaries, Discovery Health's The Residents and ABC's The Real Roseanne Show.

Comedienne Roseanne scrapped her reality TV show because producers wanted her to fake it. Program-makers wanted Roseanne to play up to the cameras and live up to her past reputation as a tough task master, by screaming at assistants and reacting to staged problems. But she refused to fake it for the cameras - and opted to quit the show so she could have a hysterectomy instead. She says, "On The Real Roseanne Show I learned fake reality sucks too. It was totally faked. They had me doing things on that show that I'd never do in real life, like get out of bed and shower and exercise and talk to people. We had second takes. I say they gave me a choice of continuing on or having an organ removed and I immediately chose having an organ removed. It was too hard and all a big mess. I wanted them to show what I really did and they didn't like what I really did. They just wanted me to be screaming at people and that isn't what I do anymore. They wanted me to be who I wasn't, so they'd set stuff up so I'd scream at people. I learned not to scream at people because I'm on a spiritual journey. I thought it was funny enough where you're trying real hard not to lose it."...

ABC has pulled The Real Roseanne Show, a documentary-style series featuring Roseanne Barr putting together a cooking show, off the schedule effective Wednesday. The move follows sibling cable network ABC Family's decision to pull the plug on the cooking show that was the subject of Real Roseanne, Domestic Goddess, after production on the 13-episode series was initially delayed because Barr needed to undergo hysterectomy. The Real Roseanne opened weakly Aug. 6 in the Wednesday 9 p.m. hour with 5.5 million viewers and a 2.2 rating/7 share among adults 18-49 and slipped even further in its second airing last week to 4.3 million viewers and a 1.8/5 in 18-49. Beginning tomorrow, ABC will air repeat episodes of comedy George Lopez at 9 p.m. and a combination of original and repeat episodes of The Drew Carey Show at 9 p.m. until the launch of the new season in late September.

Roseanne Barr has been dealt another blow after the failure of her new reality show - her follow-up TV series has been canceled. The American comedienne debuted The Real Roseanne Show - which follows her as she develops her food show The Domestic Goddess Hour - to dismal ratings earlier this month. The second show had been set to debut on September 20, but news of Barr's impending hysterectomy halted production last week. A spokesman for cable network ABC Family confirms, "The show has been shut down permanently and will not air on ABC Family." As the Real Roseanne Show, which is scheduled to end airing on September 17, is all about the development of the now canceled series, bosses are now questioning the relevance of continuing with the reality show. The spokesman adds, "ABC is taking a hard look at the show."...

Roseanne Barr will undergo surgery next week, forcing a delay in the production of her upcoming ABC Family series Domestic Goddess. Doctors informed Barr earlier this week that she needed to undergo a hysterectomy, which is scheduled for Wednesday, according to Barr's assistant, Becky Pentland. Production on ABC Family's 13-episode order of Goddess was under way, but staffers were told that the show would be on hiatus until further notice. An ABC Family spokeswoman said it was unclear if the show would be ready in time to meet the scheduled Sept. 20 premiere date. The development of Goddess also has been the subject of a documentary-style series now running on ABC, The Real Roseanne Show, which has already completed production.

Fox was hot on Wednesday with Paradise Hotel but CBS was hotter with Big Brother 4. Fox won the night in the adults 18-49 demographic (3.3 rating/11 share) thanks to 9 p.m. reality series Paradise (6.8 million viewers and 3.5/11 in adults 18-49) and 8-9 p.m. repeats of That '70s Show (6.3 million, 3.2/12) and The Simpsons (6 million, 3.0/10). CBS led the primetime pack in total viewers (9.2 million) and ranked No. 2 in the demo (3.0/10) with a steady performance throughout the night from 60 Minutes II (9 million, 2.4/9), Big Brother 4 (9.8 million, 3.9/12) and 48 Hours Investigates (8.7 million, 2.8/9). NBC got off to a slow start at 8 p.m. with Race to the Altar (4.7 million, 1.8/7) and the 9 p.m. West Wing rerun (5.2 million, 1.7/5) but things perked up with the 10 p.m. rerun of Law & Order (8.7 million, 3.1/9). ABC's highlight of the night was the spunk showed by the 8:30 p.m. repeat of George Lopez (7.5 million, 3.0/11) which has showed signs of blossoming into a significant player for ABC in its extensive rerun exposure this summer. ABC's lowlights were the second episode of The Real Roseanne Show (4.2 million, 1.8/5) and 10 p.m. reality series The Family (4 million, 1.8/6), which kept the network in last place for the night (5.1 million, 2.1/7).
