According to Adam Baldwin, “Casey has either met his match, or his love match,” as TVLine brings word that Carrie-Anne Moss (the Matrix trilogy) joins the NBC spy-thriller-comedy, Chuck.
Moss, who recently starred in the Lifetime drama pilot, Normal, is joining the gang as Gertrude Verbanski, a former spy that runs Verbanski Corp., which happens to be the chief rival of Chuck and Sarah’s company. Gertrude is “ruthless and deadly,” but her one vulnerable spot is Casey (Baldwin).
The love interest/foil will be making her appearance in a multi-episode arc in the upcoming fifth and final season of Chuck, along with Craig Kilborn and Mark Hamill, who will be spicing up the season premiere as a couple of new bad guys.

It's a familiar story for fans of NBC's Chuck. Once again, the show is on the bubble and could easily be cancelled or renewed. If the series was on one of the other major networks it surely would have been cancelled years ago but, because the rest of NBC's shows do so poorly, Chuck has squeeked by.
So far this season, Chuck has been averaging a 1.9 in the 18-49 demographic and 5.51 million viewers. That's pretty terrible but it's as good or better than Perfect Couples, The Cape, and Harry's Law. Considering that a fifth season would help Chuck in syndication, it seems likely that Warner Bros. will make a good deal with NBC to bring it back one more time.
E! Online recently spoke to series stars Adam Baldwin and Yvonne Strahovski and they're pretty optimistic about the show's future.

And Kelli Giddish fans live to mourn another day….
NBC has officially pulled Chase from its lineup after weeks up plummeting ratings, most recently in its new Wednesdays-at-9 time slot. (A solid Minute to Win It lead-in couldn’t even boost their numbers.) But at least Chase isn’t alone — just last week the network sort of pulled the plug on The Cape.
That’s a Wrap: The Cape’s Season Is Cut Short

If you missed Chuck last week, you weren't the only one -- the show wasn't on! Need to remember what happened two weeks ago? Read my recap here.
"Chuck vs the Fear of Death" begins in Castle with General Beckman berating Chuck for trusting Agent Frost, which was a major error. Chuck apologizes: this never would have happened if Frost wasn't his mother. The General agrees, hence, he hasn't been ejected from the CIA. Beckman orders Sarah to pick up the trail of Frost and Volkoff in Istanbul while Chuck tries to recover the Intersect. Casey, much to his chagrin, is ordered to shadow Chuck in Burbank. Chuck ignores Casey's grunt of disapproval to ask if he heard the General correctly: the Intersect isn't gone? Chuck can get it back? General Beckman explains that it is believed the Intersect is just suppressed, and not taken from him, but she isn't sure.

Tonight on NBC’s Chuck, Summer Glau (Knights of Badassdom, The Cape) guest stars in the rotating role of Special Agent Greta. One thing’s for sure, you can never cast Summer Glau without her kicking some ass! Glau follows G4’s Olivia Munn, Isaiah “the Old Spice guy” Mustafa, and Stacy Keibler in the role of Greta, but it looks like Glau’s Greta will be more involved in the storyline than her predecessors.
Check out the synopsis, promo, and sneak peek at tonight’s episode, entitled “Chuck vs. the Fear of Death” and find out what Glau’s Greta calls her “favorite” sharp and pointy friend. Daily Show alum, Rob Riggle, also guest stars in this episode. Riggle plays the role of Jim Rye, “a super smart, intensely positive, and slightly crazy CIA agent who’s brought in to help Chuck become an even better spy.”

"Chuck" is off the air next week, but fortunately NBC has given us a little something to while away the days between now and the Nov. 15 episode: Several photos of Summer Glau as the latest Greta.
Glau ("Firefly," NBC's midseason show "The Cape") is the fourth actor to take on the "Greta" role this season, following Olivia Munn, Isaiah Mustafa and Stacy Keibler. Like Munn and Keibler, Glau's incarnation of the code-named CIA operative will use the Nerd Herd as her cover. Unlike her predecessors, though, it appears that she'll interact a little more with the rest of the Buy More crew.
Which may not necessarily be a good thing. According to NBC's description of the episode, the Buy Morons finally get hip to the frequent personnel changes at the store and set out to uncover Greta's real identity. That sends Morgan (Joshua Gomez) and Casey (Adam Baldwin) scrambling to keep her cover intact,...

You know what? Forget everything we said about Robert Englund appearing on Chuck tipping the scales for excessive guest stardom. After the news that Summer Glau will count herself among those to patrol the Buymore this season, we happily take it all back.
The former Firefly actress, Terminator and Babe of Fall TV in her own right with upcoming NBC superhero drama The Cape will appear in Chuck's eighth, as yet untitled installment as the latest incarnation of "Greta," the ever-changing CIA handler for the new Buymore installation. Season premiere "Chuck Vs. The Anniversary" introduced the first version of the chacter as played by Olivia Munn, while tonight's "Chuck Vs. The Suitcase" will introduce Old Spice spokesman Isaiah Mustafa.
Glau joins the already impressive complement of guest stars for the Nerd Herding secret agent's fourth season, including Dolph Lundgren, Linda Hamilton, Lou Ferrigno, Karolina Kurkova, Bronson Pinchot, Stacy Keibler,...

Alien Trespass, a retro-ish science fiction comedy starring Robert Patrick, Eric McCormack and Sarah Smyth, has gotten an original score by Louis Febre. His previous credits include Swimfan, Control and Devil's Pond, and he won an Emmy together with John Debney for The Cape in 1996. Alien Trespass takes place in the 1950s and revolves around a crash-landing alien spaceship and the monster that escapes from it. R.W. Goodwin, who has produced and directed a number of X-Files episodes, helms the film which had its festival premiere recently at the Palm Springs Festival. Febre's score is, just like the film itself, flirting with 1950s sci-fi B-movies and thus features the early electronic instrument, the Theremin.
