Josh Alexander has become the Longest-Reigning Impact Wrestling World Champion of All-Time. He claimed the title on April 23rd 2022, at the Rebellion pay-per-view, defeating Moose. He has now been the World Champion for 257 consecutive days, surpassing Bobby Roode’s 256-day World Championship run that started on October 26th 2011.
With his history-making title reign, Josh Alexander has established himself as one of the best pro wrestlers of all-time. It also marks an amazing, improbable and unexpected journey – from overweight, troubled teenager to the pinnacle of the pro wrestling industry, focused on perfection and nothing less. He even endured a serious neck injury along the way that required two vertebrae be fused together. Alexander, 35, made his pro wrestling debut in 2005 and was signed by Impact in early-2019. He has been the Impact X Division Champion and is a two-time Impact World Tag Team Champion as The North, a team that also was record-setting.

Welcome to this week’s review of Impact Wrestling, which this week opens with a Before the Impact match that saw the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) defeat Raj Singh & Shera! Let’s get into the review…
Match #1: Killer Kelly def. Tasha Steelz The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
The heated rivalry between Tasha Steelz and Killer Kelly continues in a match with no disqualifications! Savannah Evans attacks Kelly before the opening bell, giving Steelz the early advantage. Kelly attempts a running boot but Evans intercepts and drops her face-first on the apron. Steelz hits a running dropkick for two. Kelly tries to lock in the Killer Clutch but Steelz backs her into the corner. Kelly connects with an Alabama Slam. Kelly introduces a steel chair into the match and continues the assault with a series of clotheslines. Evans gets involved once again but Kelly...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. This time around we’ve got Excalibur, Caprice Coleman and Mark Henry on commentary and I’m digging the switch-ups we’ve had on the commentary team in recent weeks… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Bobby Fish def. Blake Li
My Thoughts: This felt very much like Bobby Fish getting back into the swing of things after not being on TV for a few weeks. Other than that this was your typical Aew quasi-squash match.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose def. Skye Blue and Brittany
My Thoughts: Another squash match for this week’s Elevation, but one that makes sense given that Rose and Shfir are supposed to be the dominant team and Skye Blue is the underdog. Speaking of Shafir,...

Match #1: Jon Moxley def. Dante Martin The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Dante offered to shake Mox’s hand but Mox slapped it away. They locked up in a test of strength and Moxley transitioned into a wrist lock on Dante. Moxley used a side headlock takedown to get Dante to the mat. Dante ducked a lariat from Moxley and fired back with a shotgun dropkick. Moxley invited Dante to chop his chest and Dante accepted the offer. Moxley retaliated with a chop of his own, and then another, and another. Moxley...

Another episode of Aew: Dark, which this week was apparently taped around an episode of Rampage so we get a decent crowd and bigger names on the card. Let’s join Taz and Excalibur, commentators for Dark as usual, and see what this week’s Eight matches have in store… Those match counts are getting bigger and bigger the further we get from Double or Nothing.
Match #1: Qt Marshall def. Alan Angels
My Thoughts: Wtf?! We closed this week’s Elevation with Dark Order versus The Factory and open this week’s Dark with Alan Angels versus Qt Marshall… Running out of ideas much? I’m really starting to wonder what the hell the plan is, if there is a plan, with these recurring Dark Order/The Factory matches? Feuding on YouTube shows but not referencing them outside of YouTube. Match #1: Trios Match – Cm Punk & Ftr def. Max Caster & The Gunn Club The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Austin ate an elbow from Dax. Ftr used their tandem offense on Austin Gunn. Cash Wheeler tagged in and sent Colten for a ride with a big bag drop. Max tagged in but Cash jumped over him. It’s one of Aew’s biggest pay per views of the year, it’s Double or Nothing 2022; which was broadcast live from Las Vegas and was not without controversy – with Mjf reportedly no-showing a Fan Fest event And booking a flight home that started rumours he would no-show this PPV as well! We open with a Buy-In show that sees Danhausen and Hook team up for the first, and hopefully Not for the last, time!
The Buy-In Match #1: Hookhausen (Hook & Danhausen) def. Tony Nese & “Smart” Mark Sterling
My Thoughts: The match Everyone was waiting for! It’s incredibly interesting that two, technically, meme wrestlers in Hook and Danhausen are two of the most compelling in Aew. Danhausen took most of the punishment in this match, keeping Hook looking strong. Danhausen can take a loss, and take the punishment but Hook’s mystique is the fact he’s an undefeated badass.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dynamite, which was broadcast live from the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena, Baltimore, Maryland (that’s a mouthful). As usual we have Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and Jim Ross on commentary and Another stacked card, including an Roh championship match!
Match #1: Owen Hart Foundation Qualifying Match – Jeff Hardy def. Bobby Fish
My Thoughts: So Jeff Hardy gets the win and moves on to a match with Darby Allin. That is the most interesting outcome of this match. What’s also interesting is how good a match between two “older” wrestlers can still be – though the ending felt a little abrupt to me, especially considering the beating Fish was giving Hardy throughout the match. Anyways, I’m more excited about what’s next for Jeff Hardy than this match. Sorry!

It’s another week and another episode of Aew: Dynamite to review. Hopefully this hits a higher note than the rest of this week’s Aew shows, so far, and the company can build to the end of the week on a high. Let’s see, shall we?
Match #1: Tag Team Battle Royale – the winning team advances to and Aew: Revolution 2022 Title Match The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Aew World Tag Team Champs Jurassic Express, with Christian Cage, were watching the match unfold from the ramp. The Blade shoved Alex Reynolds off the apron onto the floor, but then John Reynolds dumped the Blade over the top rope! Ortiz eliminated Austin Gunn and then Santana hurled Colten to the outside. The Butcher blocked a swinging Ddt from Trent and then suplexed Trent. The Butcher slugged away at Trent. Chuck Taylor lured in the Butcher, eliminating him over the top rope!

Welcome to this weeks review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which comes from Chicago, Illinois. We’ve got Tony Schiavone, Paul Wight, and Mark Henry on commentary and seven matches to cover. So let’s get right into the action and this review!
Match #1: Bobby Fish def. Robert Anthony
My Thoughts: Well that was unexpected. Commentary gave Anthony props on a “good showing” in Aew despite losing all six of his matches so far… I should have known then that we weren’t going to get a squash match tonight from Fish. In fact, Robert Anthony had a really good outing here – taking it to Fish at points and looking like he was just on the cusp of getting the upper hand. Of course, it was sold as Fish “playing” with his opponent after he got the win…
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Emi Sakura, The Bunny & Diamante def.

Rocky took Fish down with a running dropkick. Orange Cassidy tagged in and he sent Fish into a clothesline from Rocky Romero. Adam Cole tagged in but thought twice about facing Orange. Welcome to this weeks review of Aew: Rampage, another three-match show which continues some of the feuds from Full Gear and sees vested enemies Jade Cargill and Red Velvet go at it for a slot in the TBS Women’s Championship semi-finals.
Match #1: Darby Allin (w/Sting) def. Billy Gunn (w/Austin & Colten Gunn) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Billy backed Darby into the turnbuckles, maximizing his size advantage over Darby. They had a collar and elbow tie-up and Billy swung Darby through the air before planting him. Billy tossed Darby on the ramp. The Gunn Club mocked Darby while he was on the floor. Billy and Sting had a stare down. Billy pulled Darby’s arm and yanked him from the ring to the arena floor! Welcome to this weeks review of episode of Aew: Rampage – the go-home show for Aew’s Full Gear pay per view, with three matches, including Orange Cassidy vs. Matt Hardy in a lumberjack match; Jungle Boy vs. Bobby Fish; Jade Cargill vs. Santana Garrett; and Dante Martin versus a debuting Ariya Daivari!
Match #1: Jungle Boy def. Bobby Fish
My Thoughts: This was a great match up between a veteran and realtive newcomer. Fish showed why he, despite his losses, he should be feared in the ring. This was another match where Jungle Boy was at the disavantage from the get-go and had to fight his way back to get the win. Always a good story for Jungle Boy.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Jade Cargill def. Santana Garrett
My Thoughts: This was a glorified squash match that, unfortunately for Santana Garrett, only existed to further the Red Velvet / Jade Cargill feud,...

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Karrion Kross, who was booked to lose to Jeff Hardy on Raw in two minutes. At least it wasn’t…Triple H! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Triple H: I hate everybody! Me: Shut the f–k up cuck! Let’s get to the wrestling!
Match #1: Kushida/Bobby Fish b. Tyler Rust/Roderick Strong The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Kushida & Bobby Fish didn’t waste a second making their intentions clear, as they went on the attack against Roderick Strong & Tyler Rust before the opening bell. The Diamond Mine attempted to impose their will, but Fish’s strength tipped the balance to set up the Nxt Cruiserweight Champion for a submission win on Rust.
The Verdict: 7 out of 10 – This was a pretty simple tag match that picked up speed as it ran it’s last few laps.

Shotzi Blackheart quickly proved she was more than up to the task of standing toe-to-toe with the champion, putting forth a courageous effort against Io Shira. In the end though, it was The Genius of the Sky prevailing, putting Blackheart away with her patented top-rope moonsault after a worthy challenge.

All Elite Wrestling’s “Dynamite” currently enjoys a solid ratings edge over WWE’s Nxt in the so-called Wednesday Night Wars.
Aew and Nxt have been going head-to-head on Wednesday nights for about three months now, with “Dynamite” airing on TNT and Nxt airing on USA Network. It should be noted that Nxt began airing on USA two weeks prior to the launch of “Dynamite” and also aired an episode on Christmas Day while “Dynamite” did not.

It should be noted that Nxt began airing on USA two weeks prior to the launch of “Dynamite” and also aired an episode on Christmas Day while “Dynamite” did not.
It should also be noted that while “Dynamite” was well ahead of Nxt in the early going, the two shows have...

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the aftermath of Nxt dominating Survivor Series. This better be good or Elton John will stick his tongue down the throat of a “Tiny Dancer”. Hold me close Ti…always be closing!
Match #1: The Undisputed Era def. Keith Lee & Dominik Dijakovic – Nxt Tag Team Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After suffering their defeat in TakeOver: WarGames’ eponymous main event, it seemed that The Undisputed Era’s title reigns might be running on borrowed time. But in the case of the Nxt Tag Team Championships at least, they found a way to flip the hourglass Wednesday — even in the face of injury. The Undisputed Era retained their titles against the team of Keith Lee & Dominik Dijakovic, despite Roderick Strong needing to step into the match early on as...

Welcome to this review of Survivor Series 2019, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this is the first Raw vs. SmackDown vs. Nxt show, so this needs to go well. That’s all there is to it. It’s time to dive into this sucker.
Match #1: Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode def. The Good Brothers, The Revival, The Forgotten Sons, The Street Profits, Ryder & Hawkins, Breezango, Metalik & Dorado, Aichner & Barthel and Heavy Machinery – Tag Team Battle Royal The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
As Dolph Ziggler handily reminded the WWE Universe on Twitter, five years ago he went an hour in the ring, came through in the clutch and ended the night as the sole survivor. He didn’t have to go that long during Survivor Series Kickoff 2019 to achieve something similar, as he and Robert Roode survived an unannounced, cross-brand Tag Team Battle Royal that handed...

Welcome to this week’s SmackDown review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this show has really sucked since…2003. 2009 was quite good, but that didn’t last too long. How hard is it to just have six long matches on a two hour show? We’ve got the final SmackDown before Survivor Series, so this better be good or I’ll go all Dora The Explorer on Vince’s ass.
Match #1: Rhea Ripley def. Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks – Triple Threat Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Sasha Banks, captain of the SmackDown Women’s Survivor Series Team, wanted to pick a fight just two nights before Raw, Nxt and SmackDown collide at Survivor Series. Well, a fight she got. Both Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley answered The Boss’ call, leading to a dream Triple Threat Match to kick off the blue brand. With...

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Ruby Tuesday hopping into bed with Big Boy, because they met at the National Restaurant Chain Convention and when they swapped burger recipes they got real horny and…Damn. We’ve got a Ladder Match in the main event, so call Bob Villa and let him know he can come hold the thing up.
Match #1: Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley (No Contest) The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Triple H opened the door to Nxt and The Man came around and walked right in. Trash talking, sneak attacks and hostile takeovers have ruled the month during Raw, SmackDown and Nxt’s brand warfare on the road to Survivor Series. But Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch wasn’t having any of that. Taking Triple H up on the open invitation...
