There’s light at the end of the tunnel for Snowpiercer, after all.
The post-apocalyptic drama on wheels was canceled after three seasons by TNT in January 2023, despite previously scoring a renewal for a fourth — and final — season.
At the time of the cancellation, the entirety of the fourth season was in the can, meaning that an ending had been filmed, but producers would need to find a new outlet to air the episodes.
Truthfully, we lost hope the episodes would see the light of day because it was the latest in a long line of financially driven decisions by Warner Bros. Discovery, which had already scrapped the already-completed Batgirl movie, among other things.
As the weeks turned into months, the chance of Snowpiercer securing a home to air its final-ever episodes looked bleak … until AMC stepped up to the plate this week.

Patience is a virtue, especially if you're a sci-fi fan.
When it comes to genre TV, science fiction and sci-fi adjacent programs are often saved when unceremoniously dumped by a network.
Jericho, Lucifer, The Expanse, and Stargate Sg-1 all found new life after cancellation. Today, Snowpiercer joins that list.
AMC Networks announced today that it has acquired the exclusive U.S. linear and streaming rights to all four seasons of the post-apocalyptic drama series Snowpiercer.
The first three seasons of the critically acclaimed drama will stream on AMC+ later this year, leading up to the series’ season four premiere on AMC and AMC+ in early 2025.
This should come as excellent news for TV Fanatics, as the show always drove discussion and fueled passionate viewers with much to say.

Snowpiercer’s final season will see the light of day after all.
AMC has picked up rights to all four seasons of the post-apocalyptic drama — including the completed but never aired fourth season. The series first aired on TNT, but the Warner Bros. Discovery network canceled the show in January 2023 as it and sister channels TBS and TruTV left the scripted business.
The first two seasons of Snowpiercer will begin streaming on AMC+ on June 1, with season three following a week later. The final season will debut July 21 on both AMC and AMC+ — a change from the network’s earlier plans to air the final season in early 2025.
“Snowpiercer is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with a loyal fanbase — similar to the passionate fandoms we serve across our biggest franchise series — and a welcome addition to AMC and AMC+,” said Ben Davis, executive vp original programming at AMC Networks and AMC Studios.

The final season of Snowpiercer has finally found a home.
The fourth season of the sci-fi drama will air on AMC after the company acquired the rights to the Tomorrow Studios-produced series. It comes after TNT scrapped the show last year as part of a wider Warner Bros. Discovery content write down strategy.

It’s early afternoon on a Friday when Darren Criss and Evan Rachel Wood pick up the phone, just five days before they are set to debut as the new Seymour and Audrey in off-Broadway’s Little Shop of Horrors.
Both are on their way to the Westside Theatre stage for their first top-to-bottom run-through, taking over the complicated but beloved characters based on Roger Corman’s 1960 horror comedy and deftly adapted for the stage by theater legends Howard Ashman (book and lyrics) and Alan Menken (music).
Now in the fifth year of the U.S. revival of the dark goings-on of a Skid Row flower shop, several notable names have left their mark on the show: Jonathan Groff, Jeremy Jordan, Conrad Ricamora, Corbin Bleu, Constance Wu, Maude Apatow, Tammy Blanchard and Lena Hall. But none quite like this, as an intentional leap together among friends.

Maude Apatow is revealing details about an onstage accident that she suffered earlier this year during her current run in the Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors.
The Euphoria actress recently visited NBC’s Late Night, where she spoke with host Seth Meyers about playing Audrey in the theatrical production. After Meyers asked if she has had to deal with nerves, Apatow said that she sustained a concussion when she accidentally ran into an onstage wall in the middle of a performance.
“I’m always really kind of in a panic the entire time, and I was running offstage, and I guess my eyes were kind of adjusting to the light, and I just ran full speed into the wall,” Apatow said. She explained that she was able to finish performing in the show that evening, although it wasn’t easy: “I swear I was almost crying the rest of the show.

Ciarán Hinds is opening up about the great number of sex scenes the HBO series Game of Thrones had and weighed in on intimacy coordinators on set.
The actor who played the character of Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall, in the medieval fantasy epic was not a fan of the amount of sex the show featured.
“I was rather put off by the amount of sexuality that was going on in it, because it was taking away from the actual political storytelling,” he told The Independent in an interview. “But that’s business, I guess, from their perspective.”
In the same interview, Hinds also talked about intimacy coordinators on the sets of television shows that help ensure actors feel safe shooting a sex scene and facilitating dialogue with the production.
While having a conversation with his actor daughter Aoife Hinds, Hinds said, “I was asking her [about intimacy coordinators] because it seems to me strange.

Sean Bean's comments about intimacy coordinators have been scorched by an expert in the field. In August, the Games of Thrones alum criticized the presence of intimacy coordinators—who are responsible for the safety and well-being of actors during scenes of a sexual nature on set—in an interview with The Sunday Times. "It would inhibit me more because it's drawing attention to things," he said. "Somebody saying, 'Do this, put your hands there, while you touch his thing…'" Bean even pointed to a scene he filmed with Lena Hall on TNT's Snowpiercer where an intimacy coordinator wasn't present, calling it, "A nice scene, quite surreal,...

Sorry Sean Bean, Emma Thompson begs to differ.
In the latest reaction to Bean’s recent controversial remarks criticizing the use of on-set intimacy coordinators, Thompson said on an Australian radio show that such coordinators are “fantastically important.”
Although she didn’t mention Bean by name, Thompson, when told of the actor’s statement that the use of intimacy coordinators would “inhibit” him, said, “You can’t just let it flow. She said that while the actor in question might find it “distracting,” others would say, “it made me comfortable, it made me feel safe, it made me feel as though I was able to do this work’.”

The team behind AMC’s “Interview With the Vampire” series weighed in on the use of intimacy coordinators on set during a panel for the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
“We worked with an intimacy coordinator quite extensively,” series star Sam Reid said. “I think it’s really important working with an intimacy coordinator. I haven’t not worked with an intimacy coordinator for a number of years. I think it treats those scenes more like a stunt scene or a fight scene, so they’re choreographed as well as trying to keep some spontaneity in it. It was kind of fun doing it in that way. Sean Bean, Aka Ned Stark on Game Of Thrones, revealed that he’s not a fan of intimacy coordinators.
The actor argued that having coordinators around makes things feel more mechanical than emotional. “It would inhibit me more because it’s drawing attention to things,” he told The Times of London. “Somebody saying, ‘Do this, put your hands there, which you touch his thing… I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise.”
Bean also recounted a positive experience filming a Snowpiercer intimate scene with his costar, Lena Hall. “This one had a musical cabaret background, so she was up for anything,” the English actor claimed.
Bean is (unsurprisingly) already receiving backlash for his comments.

Sean Bean’s “Snowpiercer” co-star is speaking out, following an interview Bean gave in which he claimed Lena Hall was “up for anything” in their onscreen sex scene, simply because she “had a musical cabaret background.” According to Hall, that is not the case.
In his interview with the U.K.’s Times, Bean questioned the necessity and efficacy of intimacy coordinators on TV and film sets, arguing that they often “spoil” the spontaneity of a sex scene, and ruin “the natural way lovers behave.” When reminded that intimacy coordinators “are there to protect actresses after #MeToo,” the actor shrugged it off saying, “I suppose it depends on the actress. This one had a musical cabaret background, so she was up for anything.”
“This one” he was referring to was Hall, as Bean spoke specifically on a certain “Snowpiercer” scene he did with her in a bathtub involving a mango. But in an eight-part Twitter thread,...

Lena Hall, who co-stars with Sean Bean on TNT‘s Snowpiercer, has responded to recent comments the Game of Thrones alum made about intimacy coordinators and how they “spoil the spontaneity” of sex scenes. Speaking to the U.K.’s Times Magazine, Bean said, “I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise. It would inhibit me more because it’s drawing attention to things.” Bean went on to reference a scene from Snowpiercer‘s second season, which featured Hall and himself sharing an intimate moment with a mango. “I think they cut a bit out, actually,” he stated. “Often the best work you do, where you’re trying to push the boundaries, and the very nature of it is experimental, gets censored when TV companies or the advertisers say it’s so much. It’s a nice scene, quite surreal,...

Sean Bean’s “Snowpiercer” co-star Lena Hall has responded to his remarks that intimacy coordinators “spoil the spontaneity” of a sex scene.
Bean made the comments to the U.K.’s Times Magazine in an interview to promote his latest BBC series, “Marriage.” “I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise,” he told the magazine, adding that Hall, with whom he’d had a number of intimate and nude scenes in “Snowpiercer,” “was up for anything” because of her “musical cabaret background.”
Bean is best known for his turns as Ned Stark in “Game of Thrones” and Boromir in The Lord of the Rings trilogy while Hall has starred in numerous Broadway productions, including shows such as “Kinky Boots” and “Cats” as well as making on-screen appearances in shows including “Girls” and “All My Children.”

Sean Bean, who played Ned Stark on Game of Thrones, told the Times of London Sunday Magazine that he is not a fan of intimacy coordinators because he fears they would “spoil the spontaneity” of intimate scenes.
“I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise,” he said. “It would inhibit me more because it’s drawing attention to things.”
Shortly after Bean’s words began to circulate online several prominent actresses, including his Snowpiercer co-star Lena Hall, offered a very different perspective.
West Side Story breakout Rachel Zegler — who has noted in the past that she was 17 when she shot love scenes with her then-25-year-old co-star Ansel Elgort for that film — tweeted: “intimacy coordinators establish an environment of safety for actors. i was extremely grateful for the one we had on Wss— they showed grace to a...

Not all of Hollywood is thankful for intimacy coordinators.
After SAG-AFTRA opened membership to intimacy coordinators back in July, actor Sean Bean slammed the practice for spoiling the “spontaneity” of love scenes for film and TV shows.
“It would inhibit me more because it’s drawing attention to things,” the “Game of Thrones” alum told U.K.’s Times Magazine (via Variety). “Somebody saying, ‘Do this, put your hands there, while you touch his thing…'”
He said, “I should imagine it slows down the thrust of it. Ha, not the thrust, that’s the wrong word. It would spoil the spontaneity.”
Bean added, “I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise.”
The actor praised the steamy 1993 adaptation of “Lady Chatterly’s Lover,” which he starred in opposite Joely Richardson, for being truly “spontaneous” and a “joy” to work on.

“Game of Thrones” actor Sean Bean says intimacy coordinators “spoil the spontaneity” of shooting a sex scene.
“It would inhibit me more because it’s drawing attention to things,” Bean, who played Ned Stark in the hit fantasy show, said of having an intimacy coordinator in the room. “Somebody saying, ‘Do this, put your hands there, while you touch his thing…”
“I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise,” he added, comparing his experience to the raunchy 1993 adaptation of “Lady Chatterly’s Lover,” in which he starred opposite Joely Richardson.
“‘Lady Chatterly’ was spontaneous,” Bean said in his interview with the U.K.’s Times Magazine. “It was a joy. We had a good chemistry between us, and we knew what we were doing was unusual. Because she was married, I was married. But we were following the story.

Production on TNT’s “Snowpiercer” has been stopped due to safety concerns involving extremely high temperatures on set (via Deadline). The series was filming in British Columbia, where temperatures frequently reached the mid-90s. Multiple cast and crew members experienced cases of heat exhaustion, and 14 people were reportedly taken to the local hospital for treatment. Soon after, producers made the decision to suspend filming until temperatures became more manageable.
“Out of an abundance of caution, production of ‘Snowpiercer’ wrapped early yesterday and was suspended for today due to extreme heat on location,” said a spokesperson for Tomorrow Studios, which produces the show. “The health and well-being of show cast and crew remains top priority.”
Many were quick to point out the irony of a show about people affected by extreme climate change being shut down over extreme climate change. “Snowpiercer” takes place in a future Ice Age, and the heavy...
