Nicole Scherzinger agreed to a reunion of The Pussycat Dolls, the big girl group musical act of the early 2000s. Then, Covid-19 hit. Now, according to a lawsuit filed on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, she’s threatening to walk away from the big tour unless she’s given a majority share and complete creative control in relaunching the group.
The complaint comes from Robin Antin, who founded The Pussycat Dolls and then brought this dance/singing troupe into the mainstream upon a tip from Jimmy Iovine. The suit will determine the group’s future as its target is Scherzinger, undoubtedly the ...

Add Kaya Jones to the growing list of women who are raising their voices against abuse of women in the entertainment industry. Jones, a former member of the Pussycat Dolls, let loose with explosive allegations over the weekend, saying that the girl group was actually a “prostitution ring.”

Ashley Roberts has told Digital Spy she was worried she wasn't providing enough drama in the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here jungle. The former Pussycat Dolls singer picked up the award for 'Entertainment Programme' alongside Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan at Wednesday night's (January 23) ceremony.
Roberts told Digital Spy: "We were actually getting along in there, and I was wondering, 'Are they actually getting enough drama?' But it seemed that the public enjoyed the fact that we were having fun. And I liked the fact that they liked that." Flanagan added: "The things that we were doing… we were sleeping with rats, so it's no wonder people watched. It's just horrendous, isn't it?" Ashley Roberts is to have two Christmas lunches. The former Pussycat Dolls singer divides her time over the festive period between her divorced parents and their new spouses in Phoenix, Arizona, and admits this means she gets to tuck into twice as much festive food. She said: 'I'll be having two Christmas lunches. It will be Christmas Eve with mom and her partner, and Christmas Day with Dad and his wife. 'All I want for Christmas is to be with my family. I don't need anything else. I have love and that's all that matters.' Ashley - who came second on UK reality TV show 'I'm A Celebrity... Jimmy Fallon is rumored to be the top choice to host next year's Oscar ceremony, and this is a fantastic ideas. Honestly, the only argument I really need for this piece is the video you're going to watch below, which kicked off the 2010 Emmys-- a year, you might remember, in which Glee was a huge hit, Betty White was newly the most famous octogenarian in the world, and Jon Hamm had proved his comedy chops on 30 Rock but hadn't taken it to the next level in Bridesmaids. Keep all of that in mind as you watch the video below-- if you can keep from breaking out into spontaneous applause, that is. I've watched this video dozens of times, and I don't even like Glee all that much, nor did I recognize Kate Gosselin or the girl from the Pussycat Dolls. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon had only been on the...

Memo to all future Glee Project contestants: When you’re in the Bottom 3 and fighting for your life in the competition, never ever answer a question from Ryan Murphy — be it about your childhood traumas or your feelings on hairless cats or your favorite brand of toilet paper — with a shoulder shrug and a mumbly “I dunno.”

Thousands of people from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and Malaysia, plan to break into a Bollywood dance frenzy at the same time, to break a Guinness world record this week, reports BBC News.
At least 2,000 people are expected to join the Bollywood routine in London itself, at the Victoria Embankment Gardens, raising money for cancer support.
Event organizer Shamela Kylassum, who has put the event together in memory of Sophie Parr from Somerset who died from cancer at the age of 24, says she never imagined such an encouraging response to her Bollywood dance concept.
“It just sort of snowballed. People started inviting everyone they knew, and it got bigger and bigger,” she told BBC. What’s more! Participants are expected to also dance to a Pussycat Dolls’ version of Ar Rahman’s Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire.

The fate of Gcb, one of our favorite new shows, will be decided in the next few weeks, and right now, there's a 50/50 chance it'll survive. If it does get canceled, at least it'll instantly become a member of what we'll call the Arrested Development/Freaks & Geeks/Firefly club. Shows that were canceled before their time, and have gained cult status since they left the airwaves.
All of those programs have rabid enthusiastic followers, and in the case of Firefly and Arrested Development, that fan enthusiasm has directly led to big screen resurrections.
We're hoping Gcb gets a renewal, but while we wait, let's take a look at a few other shows throughout the years that were unfairly snuffed out, and picture ... what might have been.

With so many people wondering if the New York Giants or the New England Patriots will win the Super Bowl on Sunday, there's one team that could perhaps upset the whole game. That team? Well, it's Team Madonna — and it's a fierce, road-tested force that has proven it can stand the test of time.
When the Pussycat Dolls stopped by the MTV News offices recently to chat about their Go Daddy ad airing during the big game, they noted that the only team they want to see win is Team Pop led by Mvp Madonna, who will certainly dazzle everyone when she takes the stage during the halftime show.
"I definitely say Madonna," Pcd creator Robin Antin said, with new Doll and U.K. native Lauren Bennett adding, "Madonna all the way!

More than 200 artists have performed on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve since it debuted 40 years ago, and in tonight’s countdown of the Top 40 performances, Jennifer Lopez (and her bedazzled bodysuit) took the crown. See the full list below. Things we learned watching Fergie and Jenny McCarthy host tonight’s live two-hour countdown special: The crowd dancing in the ’80s was so much better than today, Rick Springfield actually pulled off that pink suit (which is, we assume, why his name and “Jessie’s Girl” trended on Twitter), and meeting McCarthy was one loud man’s life dream.

We ask 'Platinum Hit' judge about the less-than-stellar credits in her catalog.
By Jim Cantiello
Kara DioGuardi
Photo: MTV News
In her decade-plus career, Kara DioGuardi has helped write some of the biggest hits for artists like Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Cobra Starship, Carrie Underwood, the Pussycat Dolls and countless others. But when you're an in-demand pop songwriter and you're churning out tracks at a breakneck pace, they can't all be winners. Hell, even John Lennon and Paul McCartney published a few turkeys.
Lucky for fans, DioGuardi's sense of humor is just as strong as her sense of melody. When stopping by MTV News to promote her Bravo reality competition "Platinum Hit," the former "American Idol" judge was more than happy to dish about some of the crazier credits on her otherwise-sparkling résumé.

Nicole Scherzinger has admitted that she was a very ‘sensitive’ child and often called ‘crybaby’ at school.
The former Pussycat Dolls star was yesterday announced as Cheryl Cole’s replacement on the American X Factor series but she admits that sometimes she’s shocked at what she does for a living, because she was such a shy child.
Nicole told Live: “I was the most fragile, vulnerable kid and very easily hurt. I’d burst into tears if anyone was mean.
“It always amazes me how this kid who was so easily knocked also had this burning desire to perform.
“I wanted to sing, to act, to get up on a stage and show what I could do, but when I was off that stage I was hurt by the slightest thing.”

The Pussycat Dolls singer has been rumored as a replacement for Cole since late May when the 'Promise This' singer was first said to have been axed from the singing competition. Her success with the group put her in the spotlight, and in 2006 Scherzinger started working on her debut album Her Name is Nicole, but the release was eventually canceled. In March 2010, it was announced that the 32-year-old would be a contestant on the tenth season of Dancing with the Stars. Scherzinger (more)...

Midge Ure became the first celebrity to leave ITV’s Popstar To Operastar last night, when he and former Pussycat Dolls star Melody Thornton found themselves in the bottom two after receiving the lowest amount of public votes.
The decision between the two singers was then in the hands of the judging panel and while Rolando and Vanessa Mae voted to save Midge, Simon Callow voted to save Melody, leading to Katherine Jenkins casting the deciding vote, as this week’s head judge.
The Welsh singer voted to save Melody saying:
“The biggest improvement for me, and if we were to give them another song, they could come up with more, is Melody.”
Upon being voted out, Midge Ure said: “I’ll have to go back to my day job. No-one wants to go in the first round but I think I did a reasonable job and I go out with great aplomb.

Melody Thornton will make her first appearance on Popstar To Operastar tonight but the singer won’t just be using her vocal skills to win votes from the public.
The former Pussycat Dolls performer told The Daily Star that she thinks reality TV series’ are as much about personality as they are about talent and she intends to use hers, to win people’s support.
Thornton said:
“When it comes to the voting it’s all about personality and getting people on your side.
“I think if I say ‘f**k’ on the air a couple of times it will get people voting for me.
“I can already picture the producers freaking out backstage, saying, ‘Get her off!’ when they hear me swear.”
When asked how she feels about reports that former X Factor winner Joe McElderry is already favourite to win the 2011 series of the ITV show, Melody added:...

Nicole Scherzinger has credited former girl group the Pussycat Dolls for giving her a confidence boost and turning her "into a woman". The Killer Love singer quit the chart-topping ensemble in December 2010, but insisted that she would never forget her 'Don't Cha' "sisters" or the life lessons that they had taught her. "People thought we had non-stop catfights, but those girls will be my sisters for life," she told the Daily Mail. "We slept, breathed, sang and shared the same tiny space together for years, and honestly there was no time or room for fights. "I went from being this shy little girl with hang-ups about wearing a bikini to this creature who performed in the teeniest clothes with total confidence. Being a Pussycat Doll turned me from a girl into a woman." However, Scherzinger accepted that her "brutal" (more)...

When Nicole Scherzinger started singing on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent final show, we had to look twice to make sure it wasn’t Rihanna on stage.
The former Pussycat Dolls star showed up on the ITV show to give a performance of her newest single “Right There“, from her solo album ‘Killer Love’ and her accent, tone and intonation was almost identical to that of the S&M hitmaker.
The song was very similar to RiRi’s Rude Boy, though we admit it was much more polite and a more tame effort from the brunette beauty.
Tonight was the first time Nicole has been seen in public with Simon Cowell, since Cheryl Cole was axed from X Factor USA and she reportedly took her job.
After singing, Scherzinger took time to thank her UK fans for being so supportive of her career over the past year. She gushed:...

Steven Hall made his big Britain’s Got Talent return this evening.
The boring looking telecommunications engineer stunned the audience and judges with his comedic and energetic dance routine at the audition stages, but then he had the element of surprise on his side and tonight, we weren’t sure that he’d be able to replicate his earlier success.
Hall was wearing a fetching yellow shirt tonight and looked slightly less grey when he started off by dancing to Shakira’s World Cup anthem ….. lets just say there was a Lot of hip and butt action during the segment. He then showcased some Egyptian moves and his Cheerleading dance to ‘Mickey’ was a sight to behold. Also thrown into the mix was a bit of Jai Ho by the Pussycat Dolls and a big gong, marking the end of the routine.

Salt Lake City The third city on the So You Think You Can Dance season eight audition trail might be the smallest, but as Cat Deeley reminds us, Salt Lake City has "always provided big talent", including season three winner Sabra. Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin joins Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe at the judges' table, and first up is stepping duo Devon McCullough, 20, and Micah Clark, 21. It's three yeses to choreography, with Mary saying they are a lot of fun and have great personalities, but unfortunately they find themselves parting ways when Micah is sent home and Devon gets his ticket to Vegas. "Super fan" Chyna Smith, 19, is next and she's doing a piece choreographed by Alison Holker. Nigel thinks her dance had "sensuality and sexuality", while Robin would cast her in the Pussycat Dolls. She gets the first (more)...

Reports last week claimed former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole had been dumped from the U.S. version of X-Factor on Fox, possibly because of her strong accent which might be hard for American viewers to understand. Cole is reportedly very angry over being ditched, especially since she ‘trusted Simon [Cowell]‘.

Melody, who’ll compete alongside Joe McElderry, Midge Ure, Cheryl Baker and Claire Richards, said, “I’m singing opera, kicking some ass, learning a new technique and it’s really exciting.
“Everybody’s really sweet. I love everyone, they’re awesome. They’re all really good.
“But look, I want to win. I didn’t try out and find my way here not to.”
Speaking at the launch party for the Gumball 3000 Rally, which starts today at London’s Playboy Club, Melody added, “I’m learning to really appreciate opera…
“Classical is something I think is neglected amongst our younger demographic, it’s really hard.

Robin Antin, the choreographer who originally put together hit girl band The Pussycat Dolls, has told Extra that Simon Cowell “really wanted” Nicole Scherzinger on X Factor USA.
Antin made her remarks in response to questions about why she thought Cheryl Cole had been axed from the show.
Robin spoke to Extra while attending the finale of this year’s American Idol, and she suggested that Nicole was an obvious choice for judge over Cheryl, even though Cheryl has been with the show for its first auditions.
Antin added, “I know that there was a lot of going back and forth, and I know that Simon really wanted Nicole to be on the show, no matter what.
“So finding her the position of host made sense…
“I don’t know the exact details of how everything went down, but it sounds like a good thing.
“Nicole should be judging. She knows what she’s doing.

Bad day to be British at Fox. First the network boots Saffron Burrows from its Bones spinoff, now it seems Cheryl Cole is stepping out of X Factor.
Sources confirm she’ll be replaced by one of the show’s previously reported hosts, Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger. Cole was officially announced as a judge-coach panelist on the show less than a month ago and featured in a trailer shown to advertisers at Fox’s upfront presentation last week.
Now producers have to figure out whether co-host Steve Jones will continue as a solo act, or whether he will be paired with another host.
