With the film industry focusing more on remaking and retelling the stories from past times, Benedict Cumberbatch seems to be jumping on this bandwagon as he prepares to star in a reimagined version of the 1989 dark comedy The War of the Roses, which is newly titled The Roses.
Along with the MCU star, we will also witness Academy Award-winning actress Olivia Colman playing the role of the female lead in the upcoming film.
Benedict Cumberbatch in and as Sherlock
With this reimagination being made for modern times, the themes and elements of this classic film might be changed to a certain extent, which will be interesting to see. But at the same time, this news has not been taken too joyfully by audiences who loved the original and are calling it out for being non-creative and unnecessary.

Both Cumberbatch and Colman will also be attached as producers through their own production companies. There is no news yet about when it will start shooting, but realistically, the earliest we’ll see it is the end of 2025.

Plot details have not been shared, but the film has been described as a “funny, deeply moving, and immersive love story.” The film had been expected to move into production later this year, but StudioCanal announced cameras are already rolling by tweeting an image from the set Tuesday morning.

Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield took the internet by storm (as they should!) after presenting together at the Oscars ceremony this year. Tweets were exchanged and a lot of feelings were felt. And now it's been announced (via Deadline) that the pair will co-star in a new project together a romantic comedy film titled "We Live In Time."
It's a pleasant change from their recent filmography. Pugh appeared in a multitude of different genre-bending roles — Ari Aster's horror film "Midsommar," Olivia Wilde's "Don't Worry Darling," along with her superhero responsibilities in Marvel Studios' "Black Widow" and "Hawkeye." Garfield was recently seen in Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Tick, Tick... Boom!," Michael Showalter's "The Eyes of Tammy Faye," and his terrific television outing in Hulu's "Under the Banner of Heaven." The performers haven't appeared in a romantic comedy in a very long while, and this one's certainly shaping up to be an exciting project.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s production company SunnyMarch is being sued over the rights to a Roald Dahl script, Variety can reveal.
SunnyMarch, whose directors are Cumberbatch and his producing partner Adam Ackland, entered into a co-production agreement with Portobello Productions in November 2019 to make a film adaptation of Dahl’s novel “Danny the Champion of the World.”

Over the past decade, one that has found Benedict Cumberbatch catapulting from global stardom as Sherlock Holmes to Doctor Strange, his personal edict has changed.
“It used to be just about challenging expectations and trying to do something unconventional to keep myself fresh, because of the amount of exposure I’ve had,” he said in a recent interview with IndieWire. “I didn’t want to keep turning up as fast-talking posh English people. That used to be the main driver. But now it’s much more about the people I get to work with.”
One of those people is Jane Campion, the director of “The Power of the Dog.” In the role of hardened Montana rancher owner Phil Burbank, who bullies the young wife (Kirsten Dunst) of his soft-spoken brother (Jesse Plemons), Cumberbatch channels the clash of outward nastiness and emotional fragility that Campion has probed ever since her 1989 debut “Sweetie,...
