There will be no Season 6 for the CW’s Dynasty. The CW has opted not to renew the reboot of the iconic 1980s soap, and it will end with the current fifth season.
Dynasty was considered among the most vulnerable CW series to snag a renewal. It was the victim of disappointing ratings and its previous renewals, along with 4400, had been motivated by the money the series generates for CBS Studios through the show’s Netflix deal.
Dynasty hails from Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, CBS Studios and Fake Empire. Schwartz and Savage teamed with Revenge writer-producer Sallie Patrick and the original series’ creators, husband-and-wife duo Esther Shapiro & Richard Shapiro, for a new modern-day reboot of the classic Aaron Spelling-produced ABC series.

Eliza Bennett has been cast in the role of Amanda Carrington on The CW’s “Dynasty.”
Bennett joins Season 4 in a recurring guest star role, with her first episode being “The British Are Coming” on Aug. 27. She will be a series regular in the forthcoming fifth season.
The original 1980s primetime soap opera “Dynasty” featured Catherine Oxenberg in the role of Amanda for the first three years of the character’s existence. (Her apt entrance was in the fifth season episode titled “Amanda.”) Karen Cellini stepped in in recasting.
This version of Amanda is described as a long-lost Carrington relative who was born and raised in Europe but arrives now “holding a treasure trove of secrets” — both from her past, as well as the Carrington family’s past. She is also described as smart and confident, a character who can hold her own against those who come at her. She is a lawyer,...

The Vampire Diaries Episode 409
“O Come, All Ye Faithful”
Written By: Michael J. Cinquemani & Julie Plec
Directed By: Pascal Verschooris
Original Airdate: 13 December 2012
In This Episode...
Elena and Damon head out to the Gilbert lake house. Bonnie, Jeremy, and Shane are holed up there, and Bonnie thinks she has a way to get Jeremy past the whole “I need to kill my sister” thing. As Shane explains, Jeremy’s is a conditioned response. He sees a vampire, he must kill it (funny - his reaction isn’t as strong with any other vampire in town. Just Elena.) Shane’s idea is to recondition him to protect Elena, and to realize that he doesn’t need to act on his first instinct. He needs to stop, think, and realize he has a choice in the matter. Elena shares a warm and fuzzy memory about the Gilberts in the lake house. Jeremy...

The Vampire Diaries Review, Season 3, Episode 15: “All My Children”
Written by Evan Bleiweiss and Michael Narducci
Directed by Pascal Verschooris
Airs Thursdays at 8pm (Et) on the CW
This week, on The Vampire Diaries: Elena can’t keep her mouth shut, Bonnie can’t stay out of vampire business, and Ric really does have horrible luck with women.
On a different series, the climax of this episode wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t be tense, there wouldn’t be drama. On a different series, when a character proclaimed they were taking down the season-long villain when they were still 7 episodes out from the finale, it’d be a forgone conclusion that the scheme would fail. On The Vampire Diaries, it’s a surprise.
This is one of the very few instances in the series’ run where a major character’s endeavor hasn’t succeeded, at least partially. Emily destroyed the pendant,...

Ian Somerhalder has set aside some time from his busy schedule to address issues close to his heart in person. The day after a late night shooting of "The Vampire Diaries" on Wednesday, July 26, the Damon Salvatore depicter appeared before Congress in Washington, D.C. to testify for wildlife preservation.
"Wildlife and environmental conservation has always been not just a passion, but a priority of mine," said the founder of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. "When I began to find that through my work as an actor, I was gaining an increasingly prominent platform in front of the American public, I knew right away what I wanted to do with it."
