Are Don Cheadle, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and the rest of the “Ocean’s” cast readying a reunion? It’s not entirely out of the question based on Cheadle’s latest interview with Entertainment Weekly. The actor reunited with “Ocean’s” director Steven Soderbergh for the upcoming crime movie “No Sudden Move.” The way Cheadle tells it, Soderbergh mentioned during the making of “No Sudden Move” that he’s drawing closer to cracking an idea for the next “Ocean’s” movie.
“We were talking about it [after ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’], and then Bernie [Mac] passed, and very quickly we were like, ‘No, we don’t want to do it,'” Cheadle said. “But I just did a movie with Stephen and he said, ‘I think there may be a way to do it again. I’m thinking about it.’ And it didn’t go much further than that. But I...

We always knew Ocean's 8 was going to connect to the other Ocean's movies somehow. After all, the trailers for the film made it clear that the main character's name is Debbie Ocean, which isn't far off from the Danny Ocean (aka George Clooney) we meet in Ocean's 11, Ocean's 12, and Ocean's 13. And, I mean, we see Danny Ocean's grave as well. That's why it comes as no surprise that this film takes place in the same universe as all the other ones. But if you're wondering how exactly it fits in with its predecessors, we're happy to break it down for you. Here are all the ways, big and small, that Ocean's 8 connects to the original.
The natural starting place, of course, is the man himself: Danny Ocean. We learn very quick that Debbie is the sister of the deceased Danny Ocean, so there really aren't any questions about where she comes from.

Head to the movies this weekend to see Logan Lucky, and you'll see more than Steven Soderbergh ending his moviemaking retirement phase and returning to the big screen. (You've been greatly missed, sir.) You'll see more than just Channing Tatum and Adam Driver playing down-on-their-luck Southern brothers who hatch a plan to rob the Charlotte Motor Speedway. You'll even see more than Daniel Craig sporting a bottle-blond crop-cut hairdo and Seth MacFarlane sporting something on his head that looks like a cross between a mullet, a Jheri curl and roadkill.

The sound of the dice hitting the felt. The rattle and the sparkle of ice cubes in cocktail glasses and diamonds on collar bones. The steely gaze of the high roller and the ripple of playing cards. There’s a timeless glamour and appeal to casinos that carries all the way through from real life onto the big screen.
Lets take a look at some of the movies that capture the magic of the world’s glitziest pleasure palaces, and why exactly they get us so damn excited…
Ocean’s Eleven (2001)
This film brought the cool. A wily band of lovable rogues headed by charismatic charmer Danny Ocean (George Clooney), this movie’s heist-happy anti-heroes embark on a riotous and risky quest to steal over $150m from slimy casino tycoon Terry Benedict (Andy García), through a daring raid on a vault shared between three major casinos. The band of conspirators...

We start the Top 7. You finish the Top 10.
This week’s “Question of the Week” on Jeff Bayer’s “Movie B.S.” podcast is inspired by Lawless, a film about three good ‘ol boys (played by Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, and Jason Clarke) in Virginia’s Franklin County whose bootleggin’ ways in the 1930s are trifled by dirty cops and powerful competition. (I reviewed the film, and you can read that review here!)
This week’s inquiry is, “What is your favorite moment of law-breaking in a movie?”
In my attempt to answer this question, I’m going to choose scenes that are my favorite because of the impression they’ve left on me. Some of these law-breaking moments are fun, some are serious, and some of them are never responded to with justice. These are scenes that left an impact concerning the control of power (or lack thereof), while...
