The first half of Super Bowl Lviii proved so fruitless for the defending-champion Kansas City Chiefs that it drove their star tight end Travis Kelce to throw a sideline tantrum (nearly knocking over coach Andy Reid in the process), and so boring for the Allegiant Stadium crowd in Vegas that it brought his girlfriend Taylor Swift to chug a beer on the jumbotron. Swift was joined in her luxury suite (estimated cost: $2.5 million) by pals Ice Spice and Blake Lively as well as the Kelce family. The lone first-half touchdown...

Amy Robach and Tj Holmes said they were “legitimately concerned” for their friend and former co-worker Michael Strahan.
The duo brought attention to recent stories about Strahan’s involvement in a significant moment on live television.
Robach and Holmes said they were shocked when they woke up Monday morning to see headlines regarding their “dear friend.”
Strahan, who works with Good Morning America, is also an analyst and on-air host for NFL on Fox and Fox NFL Sunday programs.
This past Sunday, he was part of the crew for the pre-game, halftime, and postgame coverage of the NFC Championship Game.
The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Detroit Lions in a thrilling game that went down to the wire, and Strahan’s appearance for the trophy presentation drew criticism.

Growing up in the UK in the '80s and '90s, Channel 4 was an exciting new alternative to the staid safe havens of our other three terrestrial channels. Not only did it offer daring and sometimes controversial content that the BBC and ITV wouldn't touch, it also gave an exotic taster of global sport to our screens. We were introduced to the delights of Mongolian Yak Polo and Irish hurling on "Trans World Sport," while "Gazetta Football Italia" brought us a sexy European version of soccer after the success of the World Cup in 1990.
Then there was coverage of American Football. Channel 4 hooked many British viewers with the sport in the year it went live in 1982. From that moment, NFL grew in popularity as an alternative to our hooligan-blighted national game. By the time I first tuned in to see what all the fuss was about, they were done with explaining the rules.

When you think of your typical “SNL” host, you probably imagine movie stars, television actors or music personalities. But did you know more than 30 athletes have hosted NBC’s late night sketch comedy series over the past five decades? Indeed, all of the biggest names in sports have graced Studio 8H for a night of laughs and gags, including Bill Russell, John Madden, Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan and Dwayne Johnson.
While the vast majority of hosts from the world of sports have been male, three female athletes have also entertained audiences: Chris Evert, Nancy Kerrigan and Ronda Rousey. The most recent addition to the list was Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce, who took his turn as emcee in March 2023. Scroll through our “SNL” gallery above (or click here for direct access) to see all 35 athletes who hosted “Saturday Night Live.”

This post contains spoilers for "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania."
One can say many things of "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," but it is, without a question, a pretty weird movie -- particularly by Marvel Cinematic Universe standards. Director Peyton Reed's trip through the Quantum Realm to bring Scott Lang face-to-face with Kang the Conqueror included many, many strange moments, with the inclusion of M.O.D.O.K. only ranking as a relatively small part of it. Much of that weirdness is thanks to writer Jeff Loveness, who incorporated some of his "Rick and Morty" sensibilities in his screenplay. But it turns out, he left some of his weirdest ideas on the table.

Super Bowl ads for beer, once one of Madison Avenue’s simplest bits of pitchery, have become as complex as solving a calculus equation after five shots of Jägermeister.
Opening a cold one at the Super Bowl used to be easy. Since 1989, brewing giant Anheuser-Busch InBev has enjoyed exclusive rights to market malt-based liquor during the Big Game. Fans came to the event expecting to see sophomoric humor from Bud Light and inspirational messages and stately Clydesdale horses from Budweiser. In 2023, any beer maker can take to the field.
Anheuser-Busch InBev’s decision to cede its rights last year and open the Super Bowl to rivals goosed “additional interest in both traditional beer and spirits commercials,” Mark Evans, executive vice president of sales for Fox Sports, tells Variety. “We will see multiple, different brands throughout the game.”

“So who is Bonnie Raitt?” read the first sentence of a headline on the UK’s Daily Mail newspaper website this morning.
You wouldn’t have known from the shocked reaction throughout the music world – and especially throughout England, where they seemed to take it personally that Harry Styles didn’t take home every award he was eligible for – that Raitt isn’t exactly some wannabe newbie. Pretty much the precise opposite, in fact. She’s a living legend, one of the most respected and decorated makers of music of all time. More on that in a moment.
But first…it speaks to both the depth of the surprise and the utter graciousness of Raitt that she was so utterly stunned by her Grammy Awards victory Sunday night for Song of the Year, which was truly astonishing when you consider that her tune “Just Like That” had to beat out...

It was a tight race for first place this weekend but after the dust has settled, the cabins have been knocked on and the 80’s have been Brady’d… M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin has emerged the victor with 14.2 million, becoming the first film to unseat James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water from the top of the box office after an impressive seven week run.
This marks M. Night Shyamalan’s seventh film to open at the top of the charts (after 2021’s Old.) The Dave Bautista led film has become a bit divisive since its release with critics (including our own Chris Bumbray who gave it an 8/10 in his review) generally enjoying the film, with some hailing it as Shyamalan’s best film in over twenty years, while general audiences seem to be finding the film a bit mundane with an audience score currently at 64 For my money,...

The Nintendo Entertainment System is the most important console in the history of home gaming. After the video game industry crash of 1983 and several years of arcade success, many still wondered whether video games still had a place in homes everywhere. Then, almost out of nowhere, Nintendo and the Nes rescued our favorite hobby from the abyss and put it on the fast track to becoming the cultural cornerstone we know it as today.
The main reason for the Nes’ massive success story was its enormous library of great titles. Many of Nintendo’s long-standing franchises got their starts on the Nes, and while some of the console’s games have aged better than others, all of them deserve our love and respect for helping reignite the industry and kicking off the fun that would ensue for decades to come.

The concept of a fall TV season may seem a bit outdated in this streaming age. Yet, broadcasters know that this is their moment in the spotlight. And the marketers at the major networks hope to embrace autumn as one of the best times to break through the noise and introduce their new and returning series.
“Some people may feel that fall is irrelevant, that you just launch shows all year round, and we understand that that’s happening, but we have a different approach,” says CBS chief marketing officer Mike Benson. “We actually have made a statement that we love fall. We love not only the change of seasons and warm sweaters and the pumpkin spice lattes, but we love all the new shows coming back.”
Observes Fox Entertainment marketing president Darren Schillace: “Even the streamers are pushing out some of their big products at this time of year.

John Madden died Tuesday at 85. The passing of the exuberant, Hall of Fame former Oakland Raiders coach who retired that post after a decade and then became a broadcast-booth legend, a popular pitchman and later the wildly successful Madden NFL video game franchise, was announced by the National Football League, which said he died unexpectedly Tuesday morning. If you were a football watcher when Madden worked a game, you might agree there will never be another like him.
“Nobody loved football more than Coach,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday. “He was football. He was an incredible sounding board to me and so many others. There will never be another John Madden, and we will be forever indebted to him for all he did to make football and the NFL what it is today.”

John Cena will create and produce a new WWE series for Peacock that centers on the antagonists of the sport, the NBCUniversal streamer announced today. Cena, a WWE icon, as well as an actor and a television presenter and occasional rapper, will also narrate “WWE Evil,” which is described as an entertaining “psychological exposé” into the minds of the most diabolical characters in WWE history and their impact on mainstream culture.
“WWE Evil” joins a growing roster of sports programming currently on Peacock, including “My Pursuit: Life, Legacy & Jordan Burroughs,” “In Deep with Ryan Lochte,” the Dale Earnhardt, Jr.-hosted “Lost Speedways” and “Michael Phelps: Medals, Memories and More.” Peacock will also step into the Olympic 2021 ring with its own Tokyo Now Channel that includes additional programming such as “Golden: The Journey of USA’s Elite Gymnasts” and four daily shows: “Tokyo Live,” “Tokyo Gold,” “On Her Turf at the Olympics” and “Tokyo Tonight.

The Super Bowl is the biggest game in American Football and one of the biggest annual sporting events in the world. However often a person watches American football, they all have their own favourite Super Bowl or that moment that they will always remember.
For anyone unaware of how the Super Bowl works or why there are often two different teams in the game each year it is pretty simple.
The NFL is divided into the Afc and the Nfc and each year the champions of each division meet in a one off game called the Super Bowl. February 2nd 2013 will be Super Bowl Xlviii (48) where Afc Champions the Denver Broncos will take on the Nfc Champions the Seattle Seahawks at the MetLife stadium in New Jersey.

Mike Scully, The Simpsons’ show runner from seasons nine through twelve, said something in 2007 that has made me regret the show’s consistent decline in quality even more.
“Lower your quality standards. Once you’ve done that you can go on forever.”
That became the formula for propelling The Simpsons through countless seasons that many devoted fans might say should never have happened. So, here we are at season twenty. If you’ve been avidly tracking Simpsons season releases you’ll know this one was releases out of order, as the next should have been season 13. So what gives? The twentieth anniversary. Did you watch the Morgan Spurlock-led special? Good, because it’s not on this set. No, my dear readers, what we have here is a set supposedly released to celebrate the event plastered on its cover, but which fails to do so with any material on the actual discs.
