The flight was bombed 38 minutes after take-off, exploding over Lockerbie, Scotland, and killing all 243 passengers and 16 crew members.
“It was the worst-ever terror attack on British soil and the first major one on U.S. citizens,” Netflix and the BBC explained in a press release.
The outlets went on to reveal that the series will center around the attack and the ensuing investigation, a collaborative effort between American and Scottish intelligence agencies.

How can a "plane crash shark attack" movie be this sinfully dull? Claudio Fäh's No Way Up swings for the moon with its sunken premise but doesn't fulfill much of the B-Movie potential this fin-slash-disaster flick promises. Writer Andy Mayson transports viewers to the bottom of the sea in an unpredictable fashion, but the vacation nightmare’s swerve into chompy aquatic horror doesn’t blend into storytelling all that well. Fäh and Mayson desperately attempt to make No Way Up more than just an eye-catching poster that sounds hatched from a 30 Rock character's pitch, only to run out of storytelling steam in record time.
Mayson begins with a sparsely booked flight bound for Cabo that suffers catastrophic engine damage caused by a now-mincemeat flock of birds. Shrapnel tears free, piercing the plane's fuselage and blowing a hole wide open that sucks passengers out while the aircraft plummets downward into the Pacific Ocean.

We’ve had sharks in an underwater lab, a grocery store, a river, sand, and snow, as well as toxic sharks and ghost sharks. So what could possibly be left to do with sharks that hasn’t been done before? Take the concept of putting our sharp-finned friends in a plane and mix that in a blender with a disaster flick premise to serve you No Way Up from Rlje Films.
A flock of birds fly into the engine of a plane carrying a small group of people to Cabo, causing it to nosedive into the ocean. Too bad this plane was not piloted by Sully Sullenberger to help with a safe landing. Due to the initial impact of hitting the water or straight up drowning, most of the passengers are killed in the descent; especially one unfortunate soul who shows why you should not head to the bathroom when...

The poster for No Way Up says that it’s from the executive producers of the 47 Meters Down series. That’s not a good sign because it means it’s from the money men behind those films, not the writers, directors or any of the creative types. This time around, they’ve decided to offer their finny cash cows an all-you-can-eat buffet and, taking a cue from Airport 77, they’ve crashed an airliner into the Pacific. That leaves the survivors trapped on the ocean floor in a rapidly shrinking air pocket and surrounded by sharks.
As No Way Up starts things are already looking bad for Jed and Kyle. Kyle’s date for their trip to Cabo backed out at the last minute.

"What's a shark doing on a plane?!" Good question. Anyone know why? Rlje Films in the US has unveiled another new official trailer the bonkers survival thriller movie called No Way Up, made by a Swiss action director named Claudio Fäh. Rlje has also confirmed a US release date of February 16th, in theaters and on VOD to watch at home. No Way Up is a high concept combination of disaster movie and survival thriller. It's not just about a horrifying plane crash, it's about what would happen if a plane crashed into the ocean and somehow people onboard survived in an air pocket as it sunk to the bottom. No, thank you. Don't like that. Hell no. The main ensemble cast includes Colm Meaney, Phyllis Logan, Sophie McIntosh, Will Attenborough, and Jeremias Amoore. Of course they're trying to market it as "Sharks on a Plane!" This trailer is similar...

"We're going to have to find our own way out." Scary! Altitude Films from the UK has revealed the first official trailer for a crazy survival thriller movie called No Way Up, made by a Swiss action director named Claudio Fäh. It's expected to arrive in early 2024, with no US release date confirmed so far. No Way Up is a high concept combination of disaster movie and survival thriller. It's not just about a horrifying plane crash, it's about what would happen if a plane crashed into the ocean and somehow people onboard survived in an air pocket as it sunk to the bottom. How insanely scary is that?! The ensemble cast includes Colm Meaney, Phyllis Logan, Sophie McIntosh, Will Attenborough, and Jeremias Amoore. Even though they've revealed a trailer, still no info on when this will be available to watch - hopefully we'll know more soon. Because this looks...

"He's proving to be quite the distraction." Goldwyn Films debuts this indie romance on VOD in December, after its initial small theatrical debut in September in both the UK and US. Surprised by Oxford marks the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Ryan Whitaker, who's adapting the story found in the memoir by Carolyn Weber. Brilliant but emotionally-guarded Caro arrives in Oxford with the singular goal of attaining her PhD, but through a turbulent friendship with a charming young man she begins to open herself up to mystery, vulnerability, and love. Headlined by Rose Reid, the film takes viewers on a transformative and tumultuous journey. The cast includes Ruairi O'Connor as her lover, Phyllis Logan, Mark Williams, Simon Callow, with Emma Naomi, Michael Culkin, and Annabelle Holloway. This doesn't seem all that bad for a romance, featuring a bit less camp than usual, plus strong performances and intense passion. // Continue Reading...

Max McCall is a bad brother, a worse friend, and a great TV character. That’s half down to Mark Bonnar’s exceptional performance as the disbarred lawyer who’d sell his granny for a rung back up the ladder he slid down in series one, and half down to creator Neil Forsyth’s writing.
Guilt’s scripts are beauties; they tell their twisting thriller story about crime, class and family without cliché or predictability. They’re funny and political, because so are people, and they’re universal because they have a pin-sharp sense of place. You don’t need to be from Leith or Edinburgh for its us-and-them rivalry to resonate, or to get the baked-in meaning of local boundaries and kinships, or see why it’s a punchline for a character to have moved to Dundee.

It may be this year’s ‘comfort food’ film but Julian Fellowes’ second theatrical sequel to his revered long-running TV show is quality goods — and may be better than the first one. Almost every actor is back, seemingly pleased as plum puddings to repeat their roles as either landed nobility or downstairs staff. The storyline ties a final bow on some characters and plot lines, and in a far more pleasing way than we thought possible. Even casual fans of the franchise ought to be charmed.

Downton Abbey has had a long and exciting run.
We had six seasons of, holiday-themed specials, and two movies.
Hugh Bonneville, who has been with the franchise since the beginning, thinks the franchise could be over after the latest movie.
“I suspect, if there is [a new series], it would be a reboot. An origin story or something like that,” the star said to The Hollywood Reporter of rumors of a TV comeback.
The star said that Bridgerton highlighted that "there's clearly an appetite for these sorts of shows."
"Bridgerton has been a magnificent success,” he continued.
“So if you can capture the younger generation to enjoy people in frocks, then go for it.”
Bonneville went on to state that it is "immensely unlikely" the original cast would return for future projects.

The “Doctor” is still in, as Marvel’s latest film continues to lead the box office against some very proper competition.
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” added another 8.5 million to its box office total on Friday, bumping its cumulative gross up to 318 million. Meanwhile, “Downton Abbey: A New Era” is estimated to end the weekend with 18 million.
“Downton Abbey: A New Era,” the second film spin-off of the beloved U.K. series, raked in a solid 1 million in previews on Thursday from 3,300 theaters. But its weekend estimates won’t be enough to dethrone “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” which is looking to top the domestic box office charts for a third weekend. Alex Garland’s horror film “Men” also opens this weekend, but looks to have a soft start with only 1,411,853 from 1,800 screens on Friday.
The first “Downton Abbey” film, released in 2019, grossed more than 190 million at the global box office.
