Singer and Yellowstone TV star Lainey Wilson came into the 2023 Country Music Assn. Awards as the leading nominee, and she lived up to that advance billing by taking home five trophies Wednesday including the top honor Entertainer of the Year.
The CMAs were held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and broadcast live on ABC. It will be streaming on Hulu on Thursday.

The story tells of a suburban father (played by Johnson) whose teen son is sentenced to 10 years under mandatory minimum drug laws. In an effort to reduce his son's sentence, the father goes undercover to snag a senior drug dealer.

The world of- specifically- American professional wrestling has a multitude of cross-overs with the lower end of Hollywood entertainment. Often garish, vulgar and exploitative, with cartoonish characters starring in an ongoing opera of good guys and bad guys that pander to the plebeian sensibilities of their demographics, sometimes it is hard to truly discern clear differences between the two industries.
They both resolutely brandish their value expressly as “entertainment,” a word they use as synonym for both crass and vacuous. A wonder, then, that more of an exchange between the media of personnel has not been more frequent, nor more successful; but one man that has bridged the gap in the last decade has been Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who has scored a number of box-office hits and has this week signed on for another potential blockbuster in The Snitch, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Dwayne Johnson has signed on to star in 'Snitch'. The 'Tooth Fairy' actor will play a working class man who risks his entire life to save his falsely imprisoned son in the drama movie. Snitch is a action thriller about a working class hero who tries to save his son who is wrongfully impresoned. This picture has been a long time coming. Talks started all the way back in 2004 when Guy East and Nigel Sinclair (Terminator 3) was tapped to write the script which was originally inspired by an episode of Frontline.
Gordon Gray will be producing the film along with David Fanning. At this point, I'm not sure if this will be a giant blockbuster.

Inspired by true events chronicled in a PBS "Frontline" documentary, the film centers on a devoted father whose son faces 30 years in prison after being set up in a drug deal. New Line has been developing this project for years (since 2006) based on the script by Justin Haythe, which follows a suburban dad who goes undercover to convict a drug dealer aiming to reduce his teenage son’s 30-year prison sentence. In the real version (Frontline documentary) of the story, 18-year-old Joey Settembrino was sentenced to ten years for which he was clearly not ready. He told his father,
I’m here, get me out, I’ll never be able to do 10 years.”
