I've got a delightful animated short film for you to check out today called Shelved, which centers on a couple of loser robots who work at a warehouse. The film was directed by James Cunningham of Auckland's Media Design School, who explains, "[the comedy is] a nod towards the early films of directors Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats) and Richard Linklater (Slacker, Dazed and Confused)." The visual effects were created by eleven Media Design School students.
The short is extremely well made, the animation is great, and I thought the characters created for the film were fantastic. I hope you enjoy the show!

Another day, another batch of ooey, gooey shorts to bring you guys from the New York City Horror Film Festival! Have no worries, because the quality was still on kick-ass display, showcasing some bright up and coming horror talent. There’s really no point in wasting time writing an introduction though, let’s just jump to the films!
Rotting Hill
Director: James Cunningham
Ah, love in the time of zombies. Always a romantic and, er, gory tale of spellbound hearts and spending an eternity together with “the one.” Rotting Hill is a cute little love story, and yes I just said cute, about two undead lovers munching their way through the apocalypse. There’s some really cool effects on display and a few good kills, even though I’m not sure why zombies are killing other zombies (hate crime?), but hell, it’s a fun little romp none the less.

Damn you New York City traffic! Day one of the New York City Horror Film Festival, and you’re going to make me sit in two extra hours worth of traffic due to a disabled bus in the Lincoln Tunnel?! So are the trials and tribulations of a New Jersian, but you take the good with the bad, considering my refusal to walk into a film late and be the dick sitting down and asking the closest patron “So what did I miss?” Instead, I actually got to relax, meet a friend, grab a few pre-drinks, had a killer all beef burger infused with blue cheese crumbles and bacon, covered in frazzled onions and…Ok, sorry, getting distracted, New York City Horror Film Festival short films, right.
So, along with two full length feature films a night, audiences are also treated to a plethora of fantabulous horror shorts to set...

From my experience, horror films are always the most interesting but least attended films at smaller film festivals as festival audiences seem to be more interested in stories about losing your virginity than werewolves and zombies. However, two venues in Telluride, Colorado hope to serve that small group of dedicated art-house horror fans with three days of horror films from around the world at the 3rd annual Telluride Horror Show.
Below is the list of films scheduled to screen at the Telluride Horror Show, which takes place on October 12, 13, and 14, 2012.
