Fumetsu no Anata e: Awakening (2021)
To be human
Behind all the emotions, this is a tale of finding what it is to be human. Never has romance and deaths been handled so well since Clannad After Story.
The Last Samurai (2003)
Honour
Being samurai is not jsut a title, but a set of prinicples, a way of life.
It shows how honour is shown not just in batle, seeking a glorious death, but in day to day.
Western culture seems to it entirely incompatible, and hence their customs may seem barbaric, but in truth is more refined then they could ever imagine.
"I am their captive and I cannot escape. Each day they awake, they devote themselves to the perfection of whatever they pursue. I have never seen such Discipline.
It is after many years that I have experienced an untroubled sleep. Everyone is polite. Everyone smiles and bows. But beneath this courtesy, I detect a great reservoir of feeling. And although it may forever be obscure to me, I cannot escape the fact that there is something Spiritual in this place."
"Please forgive. Too many mind. Mind the sword. Mind the people watch. Mind the enemy . . . Too many mind. No-Mind! . . . No-Mind!"
"There is so much here I will never understand. I've never been a church going man. And what I've seen on the battlefield has led me to question God's purpose. But there is indeed something spiritual in this place. And though it may forever be obscure to me, I cannot but be aware of its power."
"Winter, 1876. What does it mean to be Samurai? To devote yourself utterly to a set of moral principles. To seek a stillness of your mind. And to master The Way Of The Sword."
The Samurai Warrior says, "And then I come to this place of my ancestors, and I remember . . . That like these blossoms, we are all dying. To know life in every breath, every cup of tea. The perfect blossom . . . You could spend your entire life looking for one. And it would not be a wasted life."

So good
You can experience the whole emotional spectrum in just one episode
Samâ uôzu (2009)
A great experience
Its not a masterpiece by all means, yet despite its flaws, Summer Wars has some great vibes, and could've been even greater.
This is the first anime film in ages that left me feeling a weird sad feeling, like I missed the incredible vibes created by the film, and now leaving it for a normal day in my own life.
Heavyweights (1995)
Oh yeah
Most fun I've had with a movie in a long time. A film doesn't need to be a masterpiece to be enjoyable
The Adventures of Tintin (2011)
Thrilling
Spielberg's magic brings a touch of Indiana Jones to the magnificent adventure of Tintin using a fresh style of 3d animation as well as a great score by John williams
Dolittle (2020)
Not a masterpiece, but fun.
A masterpiece can be moving, or making a bold daring point, with meticulous cinematography and witty writing, but it is the films that are not the masterpieces that are truly fun, and Dolittle is one of them.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
8.4
As a standalone film, as well as part of a saga, it isn't very good. However it reminds me of what star wars was meant to be, hence the high rating.
Gekijô-ban poketto monsutâ: Myûtsû no gyakushû Evolution (2019)
Pokemon Evolves
A great movie, with a beautiful soundtrack, stunning use of CGI and great morals.
Gisaengchung (2019)
Uncomfortably good.
This isn't a feel-good movie. It is is the cold harsh reality of whatever the movie's message was. I was too grasped on the story itself to see the bigger picture. That could be the message itself. It really took my perspective of life and twisted it.
