All That Jazz (1979)
Dancing with Death
All That Jazz This has to be the best musical to hit film ever. First of all its the story of Bob Fossee......The Man...the choreographer, the legend. Its very inspiring, beautiful, and sad all at once. The drive and insanity behind his perfection is amazing to watch. If you want to see awesome choreography that actually helps tell the story and moves you.......rent this classic. Bob Fossee's lifestyle eventually kills him....and we watch the downfall of the great. Through drugs, cigarettes, caffeine, and anything he can get his hands on he is pushing himself further and further. Even when doctors tell him he is gonna die if he doesn't rest.....we see a classic song and dance about death....talking to angels, and revelations about dying. If you haven't seen this film and want to be really entertained, prepare yourself to see something inspiring. This movie is about life...and sometimes the truth is hard to handle.
An American Haunting (2005)
Edge of your seat horror.
This is classic horror in the making, I was on the edge of my seat as this ghost or spirit came to the Bell daughter every night. You never know what is going to happen from one moment to the next. The action first starts when Mr. Bell is hunting in the woods with his son and friend, there is a heavy fog that sets the mood of something that is going to happen. When this creepy Wolf lunges at them the whole audience jumped out of their seats. Then the creature disappears in front of them.....this is the night the haunting starts. Was it a witch's spell, a ghost, a spirit, or just a fantasy.....you have to see the film to figure it out yourself. The historic events in this film are true...which makes it even more interesting that this really happened. The pace in the film is very constant and it held my interest throughout. I loved the flash backs from present day to the incidents in the 1800's...it really brought a realistic element to the whole story. All in all I would say the acting and directing really made this one of my all time favorite scary movies. You will have to see it to believe.
Lost in Translation (2003)
Slow moving....lost my interest.
Lost in Translation. Lost in Translation was one of those films that the critics adored. It was a quiet and quaint film that delivered an absorbing story without explosions or over drawn out comedic moments. Yes subtle and entertaining....some will find this film slow. Did anyone understand this? The pacing is slow, nothing is forced in any of the conversations....or shoved down an audience's throat. Its about two people making a connection. Bill Murray was amazing...very funny scenes happened when they were shooting his commercial. The bar scenes dragged but the music was good. The landscape and photography is amazing... yet not appealing in the communication areas....I guess we are all lost in translation. When these two characters connect.....the chemistry works well. I like a bit more action and movement so its not something I could recommend if you get bored easily. Not a bad flick....but there are far better ones out there to spend your time on. My vote for this would be 4 out of 10.
The Secretary (1995)
Great film.....very hot.
The Secretary A film about power in the workplace and relationships. When a business man hires a woman to work as his secretary, the lines are crossed very quickly. Each person has a need that is met by the other person. In the fetish world of Dominant and Submissive, this movie serves truth in these relationships. Some may find this film weird, but those of you, like myself, who are open minded about this may find this film hot. Isn't everyone searching for love in some way or another....so when we find it or watch others find it we must applaud. These characters are lonely people with dark secrets and tell their stories brilliantly. In the end the woman proves her true love to the man who doesn't believe in it....and they find happiness in each other. Hot sexy scenes that get steamy as the film goes on....a good date movie...will make for good conversation after the film is over. My vote for this film is 8 out of 10.
