Really enjoyable
15 July 2022
Good acting, tense and engaging storytelling. Unexpected find and so glad I did. Love a good supernatural thriller and this hit the spot. Having read all James Lee Burke books set in the teche, bayou and parishes, it's great to see the landscape and believe that anything can happen there. Teenagers can sometimes irritate me in horror/thrillers unless they are getting slashed, but the character of Anna was believable and sympathetic. Good fun all around!

Ditch the kids!

Engaging, well acted and definitely would watch more of the screeching children were less prominent. Ep. 4 is doing my head in and that's as far as I go

GEM OF A FILM
31 May 2020
Wow! Gripped from beginning to end. Claustrophobic and human. The acting was superb. Intelligent storytelling. The lack of subtitles for German conversation is conducive to the atmosphere from the pilot's point of view, as a non~German speaker and does not detract from the value of this film whatsoever

Superb

Absolute pleasure from beginning to end. Did not disappoint in any respect. Brilliant acting from all involved. Perfect mix of revenge drama, thriller with darkly comedic moments and twisting plot, tempered by loss. Pretty Shakespearian and definitely 10/10

Really enjoyed the suspense and storyline. Acting was super and giving it 10 because it's a joy of thriller/supernatural horror

Not bad with witty moments
21 March 2020
If you have watched Jodie Comer in Killing Eve, you will immediately notice that the character of Crystal is almost a carbon copy, from facial expressions to deadpan delivery. I was almost convinced it was her. Enjoyable none the less, but I couldn't get past it!

Worst ending of a film ever
24 January 2020
Good acting by Stephen Dorf, but film ultimately ruined by implausible, ridiculous and frustrating ending. Film held up right until then. It was so unnecessary

Beautiful cinematography

Not a whisper of a strand of a patch on original Wicker Man. Apparently about lack of communication, which is painfully obvious, because I felt nothing other than wishing I was watching Wicker Man again and didn't communicate it to the person I sat through this with. As Grace Dent said, would have experienced more drinking schroom tea in a garden centre

Religious rubbish masquerading as a horror

Total malignant indoctrination pretending to be a horror film. Can't believe I sat through it all. Devoid of any suspense or story line

OMG ~ THANK F THESE FILMS HAVE SEEN THEIR DAY
19 June 2019
Admittedly, I am very late to the party. If I have to see another formulaic, rubbish film, equipped with these clichés, this is better than James Bond franchise ~ just. Boring, boring, bored

Very, very good. Van Damme doesn't say a word, because he doesn't have to. The film itself says it all. Gave me a lot to think about. Mostly, that I am so grateful uk doesn't have a 2nd amendment

Truly awful

A 0 dimensional character one cannot empathise with. Laboured screenplay, intrusive sound track and 0 emotion. The only thing bearable was the cat. Truly, truly awful

So much frowning and no fun
24 March 2019
Watched avidly. Tried to get into. Know I am old school. Spock never had a sister and I can't bear the intense frowning. Michael's character is one of an utter narcissist. I don't care what happens to just her & hipster Spock. Give me a star trek!!!! Lose the wretched beards

An affront to anything but greed
16 March 2019
Ben Affleck's best work? My bottom. Badly treated veterans taking it out on South America. No heroism here. Bromance? If that's what it is, I am happy I am a woman. What started out as a brave venture to revive lost souls ~ I understand. Loss of life to greed, also understood. Glorifying that ~ NO.

Fantastic film
2 March 2019
Already a fan of Rory Culkin, and a fan of Black Metal and particularly Nordic black and death metal, this film is an eye opener. Gives an insight into why Nordic metal is so dark and where the satanism came from. I will never listen Buzurm again, owing to strong nazi and fascistic theme, but still love black metal and the Black Satan's are a Christmas favourite always. GREAT FILM SUPERBLY ORCHESTRATED

A total sell out
23 February 2019
When great comics and writers get their taste of money and fame, you get this as a result. Instead of subversion (and it is rife with possibility), you get utter crap. A long, long time ago in a galaxy far away, there was Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and extraordinary humour. Now they're playing idiotic parts, written by a Crispin and a Fitzherbert. Utter disappointing bollocks. Stereotyped and a sign of the times. "do you think we've hit the bottom yet"? Absolutely. Gutted doesn't come close

Pure fun with majyk pre~HP
17 February 2019
Great acting from entire cast. Not not irritating in the least. In my 50's, I could compare to do many other films, but no. This is just great acting, storytelling and fun. Thoroughly enjoyable. I note so many films these days revolve around the removal of the human species altogether. To begin again. I don't believe earth, as a planet will survive or species to begin again, but it's interesting how many films reflect this

As above, plus ~ what a tale... Oh ~ have to say more for review... Well, I loved it. Sam Elliott rocks, and the tale itself is mystical, mesmerising and ongoing

Traditional, enjoyable Valentine film
14 February 2019
Lyn Shaye & Tony Todd in the cast got be to watch this film. Shaye was her fabulous self, which never disappoints & Tony Todd, for his few minutes was deep~voiced & a joy. The film itself, I found traditional of its genre & enjoyable. Let down only by casting of love interest, who to me came over as undeveloped & slack~jawed. For my valentine eve with partner, it was perfect. Dark hearts all round 🖤🖤🖤

Much better than expected
2 February 2019
Really great watching. Relationships not too trite and CGI not too intrusive. London, with its lions and St Paul's trying to destroy the free world ~ not really a new tale, but enthusiastically done! Some really great little touches in costumes etc. Despite my misgivings, thoroughly enjoyable and visually spectacular. Without the excessive eyebrows, I barely recognised Hugo Weaving 😁

Den of Testosterone, but fun
19 January 2019
I love a good cast of testosterone~fueled arses divided into 2 similar teams! Little to discern between "goodies" and "baddies", which I imagine, is the point. Passed a very pleasant Saturday eve enjoying/taking the piss out of this film and its exaggerated characterisations. That's a winner in my book!

Not Liverpool but the Wirral. I was gripped from beginning to end. Bushwick in the Wirral. Use of Brookside set ~ brilliant... Well worth the watch. Great choice of actors, set, screenplay and direction. Just great!! 🤗

Absolutely brilliant. Acting, writing, cinematography ~ the works. Ticks every box! Happy opportunities to see Christopher Meloni's bottom, whilst running in a hospital gown. Not enough superlatives...
