The Highwaymen (2019)

Kevin Costner: The new John Wayne. Watch it Pilgram!

What a great surprise to discover that Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson are both in this movie. Two actors are really like and, they both performed without any disappointment. I'm becoming more of a Kevin Costner fan since he is playing some tough guy roles that John Wayne would play if he were alive. I've been watching Costner's Yellowstone show each week and really appreciate a show about modern cowboys. Too many western films have been made of "cowboys" who carry guns and shoot one another, rather than riding horses and roping cows and doing ranch work.

True stories are my favorite genre and this was a interesting rendition of the Bonnie and Clyde fable.

If you like sexual perversion then this is your show. The only good episode is season one episode two. I gave it a two because of that episode. The rest of the episodes are mostly perversion and are a one star.

I have a collection of about 1,000 great films from the 1920's to the present and this is probably in the top ten best. I like Samuel Jackson and his performance was phenomenal.

The Call of the Wild (2020)

If you like dogs, like me, you will enjoy this movie. Makes you wish you owned a wonderful big dog like this. I'm not a special effects lover, but this has some excellent effects that make the dog more human perceptible. Can't wait for the DVD to come out so I can watch it again with family.

The Great Alaskan Race (2019)

Wow, just as good as Togo!

Another captivating angle to this incredible story. All of the films about this historic true event are very good, including this version. I recently watched the movie Togo and thought that it was pretty good, which is what you would expect from a Disney film. This may not be Disney's Togo, but--it is actually just as good or...better? This film provides a warm and interesting reflection of the man who contributed 80% of the rescue effort, Leonard Shepard. His own daughter was one of the sick children, which was a very compelling motivation for Mr. Shepard to get the serum back to Nome expeditiously.

Wow, very powerful story and performances by the whole cast. I have seen all of the Oscar-nominated films for 2019 and this one is far superior.

The Two Popes (2019)

Very good story with excellent acting. Its good to see some of the human side to the Catholic hierarchy. The Pope's are not without sin and, neither was Jesus. Jesus once stated "He who is without sin, let him throw the first stone". No one threw a stone--including Jesus.

The Climbers (2019)

The Professor and the Madman (2019)

Both of these leading actors have always done well and, this is another good example of their superior acting capability. If I did not know ahead of time that Mel Gibson was in the movie, I would have wondered and hoped that is is him--which it is. Bravo to Mel Gibson and Sean Penn for their excellent portrayal of their characters! Both of these guys should get an Oscar.

Richard Jewell (2019)

Mediocre for Clint Eastwood

Certainly not one of Eastwood's best films, but better than most films these days. I would like to think that this movie is a vindication for Richard Jewell, but the film did not completely convince me of his innocence. Probably should have presented the evidence better of how Jewell could not have made the call and returned to the scene before the bomb went off. Very good acting by all of the cast.

Togo (2019)

What a magnificent story and a wonderful film. Thank you Disney for making this rare gem of a movie. This will be a movie that I will be happy to watch again and share with others.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)

Brilliant acting by Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks should get a Best Actor award for his role in this film.

If you have watched the Mr Rogers show much then you will be stunned at how perfect Tom Hanks portrayed him in this movie. Tom must have practiced the scene 100 times (the beginning of the typical Mr. Rogers show) because he portrayed him perfectly. Besides that, the story is a nice and interesting reflection of the life of Mr. Rogers. I would not hesitate to watch it again, and I probably will some day.

The Great War (2019)

Pretty good movie--ignore the low ratings

If you don't like the "N" word, don't watch it; But that is how it always was until recent times. This is certainly better than most movies these days . It is full of realistic good action and has all well acted script. Many black American's fought valiantly in every American war. Then they came home to the same racism and got no recognition for their valor. This movie is a good example of how African Americans have contributed to our freedom by fighting courageously in battle.

Joker (I) (2019)

Over-rated

The first hour is a boar with too much emphasis upon protraying what we already know...the Joker is crazy. Two senseless murders, one too graphic. Hopefully the sequel will be better. Good acting by Jaquine.

If you like true stories that are gripping, this one will fulfill your needs for great entertainment. A travesty of injustice by the Catholic church against a generation of indigenous Indian children stolen away from their families and then mentally and physically brutalized.

I like the new Bruce Willis. This is not the dodge 5 million bullets and get beaten to a pulp and shoot countless bad guys and walk away a lane hero. Good story and somewhat realistic. Not full of special effects and cussing and sex and smoking and all the other BS that many people tend to like in movies these days. Enjoy it, I did.

Jim Gaffigan: Noble Ape (2018 TV Special)

Non-stop funny--and clean!

Some of the funniest jokes in this show is the medical one's. Jim Gaffigan could do very well going to medical conventions and telling his jokes about medicine to health care workers.

Sure to completely disappoint those who enjoy watching a movie full of cussing and murder and mayhem and explicit sex and drug and alcohol abuse.

But if you love God and long for an uplifting Christian movie that is clean and very inspirational then this is a movie for you.

Marshall (2017)

Best movie of 2017

I watched all of the leading movies made in 2017 and this was by far the best. Marshall did a lot of great work in his life, besides this one early trial. Sequel, please!

Ridiculous story of a guy who sins like crazy, including swearing, smoking, drinking,doing drugs and committing murders, but we are to believe he has his prayers answered by God for a divine healing.
