OMG leonardo di caprio s truck scene!
27 January 2020
This is a movie made by tarantino for tarantino. So self centered, selfish, not in a bad way though ,i am not judging , i am saying it is what it is. Tarantino is nostalgic about old hollywood, a hollywood high in colors. Rick dalton (leonardo di caprio) is an actor who had for long done western and is a victim of a major transition in the world of cinema, undergoing a huge strain of making it still in a cinema no longer meant for him. Leonardo is giving generously in this movie, and exploring himself beyond limits as an actor , his performance is outstanding, and there is this scene where he is alone in his truck ,scolding himself ruthlessly on his acting, he deserves a second oscar and maybe an honoring speech for this particular scene.

good!
18 April 2017
Brie larson plays a woman who has been kidnapped when she was a teenager and has been used for sex by her kidnapper "old jack",she raises then a boy"jack",who knew nothing about life but room and ma. the woman seems so used to her situation as a prisoner ,that we don't notice real pain neither suffering, rather the rhythm is so quiet and monotone,we sense boredom and quiet electric atmosphere. the woman(Brie Larson),s only interest is to take care of her child, she even over cares (has anxiety crises and manifests overprotective behavior). "jack"is a normal kid,who likes to play and is very curious, may get offensive with his ma in times, once old enough to understand and concentrate ,jack could serve to get both him and his ma out of room? how is the world outside ?for ma who s been imprisoned for 7 years ,and for jack who only knows the world through TV ? first contact, first stranger, first look on everything as we know it ,as we're used to it,how is life after room ,if there is ever gonna be one ? go and see the movie, you'll get the answers,...i guess...

Not great !...but good

Warning: Spoilers
except the fact that some scenes looked fake and so cliché,.. i would say the performance is rather satisfying,i was touched,it really grabbed my attention and got me emotional, and i think it's mainly due to the chemistry between the main characters that served very well the story. Guillaume and Adele 's passionate performances, managed somehow to bring believable romance onto screen without doing too much.. it was heartwarming!i liked it!

interesting!though could have been better...
16 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
the story is so intriguing,i just felt "i have to watch this". it wasn't disappointing,it was rather entertaining but felt weak though.. it s the sort of movies, where i'd picture myself as the director, and start guessing all the ways i would have made a difference,it s because the movie was simply not fulfilling, there is a gap ,a hole in the execution ,... james mc avoy, did some real efforts, however,i must say jake galleynhaal would have been great in this role and maybe would have leveled up the film,...sure james is talented ,unlukily he 's still not Hollywood's spoiled kid ..yet.. now as for the story,it's the metaphor of the human character development through life experiences, and what we call in the movie "the brain's auto defense",the weak would grow into a beast as a way of resistance in a cruel world, the psychiatrist DR.Karen Fletcher, played by Betty Buckley, sympathizes with him :kevin(james mc avoy)and tolerates the split of his personality which she thinks is extraordinary, this one "devilish"thought alienates with kevin 's own estimation of his development ,and consequently empowers his transformation into "the beast",while it was supposed to decline it... kevin goes then from an abused child,to a weak person,to a bullied defenseless teenager, splits in 23 different personalities, each is a unique reflection of his own sense of selfrightousness and demons, seems like kevin is in a struggle, smooth struggle though, for the evil takes off the good in him and finally ends up into a powerful beast full of hate and anger ,goes from self defense to a ruthless attack... kevin is hurt, but so is casey (anya taylor joy)one of the victims he kidnapped(kevin becomes dennis who has twisted intentions and kidnaps three teenage girls),who has been molested in her childhood, casey is so a second perspective, one different vision, one different attitude on dealing with pain, let 's say casey is a good ,healthy transformation of little kevin, she's wise and strong ,has no apparent intention of rebellion or revenge, but an inclination for loneliness and isolation instead, the beast ends up sparing casey for he sees himself in her ,... well, i could go on and on,there are 23 personalities to kevin, there are two versions of damaged humans(casey and kevin),a psychiatrist who thinks her patients are not sick but maybe extraordinary,... Now it's true ,brain may have to develop a second, maybe third and fourth characters in order to deal with the pain and the cruelty of life, the movie is based on pumping up this one idea,to show the process in a row,... there is really a lot to this movie makes me once again confirm "it could have been way better"

original!
16 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
"the movie tells a simple story of two ordinary people in their daily routine",as light an d simple as this description sounds,so does the movie,... each viewer will have his own analysis and judgment watching this, for it's an intentionally detached work with very objective staging, seems like putting a camera on your everyday life and lay back to watch how it goes,it's observing your attitude towards daily life or even eventually someone else's. i guess the main intention was to show how daily routine is not to be underestimated despite the fact that it's boring, for poetry resides in every little detail, the controversy here is we end up feeling interested but a little depressed while poetry has been supposed to reflect beauty and good life.. Bottom line, the movie is interesting, very contemplative and deep but, poetry didn't help take the boredom out of reality if you know what i mean..

"he had a conviction that was not a joke"
1 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
10 out of ten of course!great cinema is back on screen! it brought out the best in mel Gibson,as a director,i guess, though i have never been such a big fan,... Andrew as the main character and the "hero" Desmond, has stood up to the expectations ,on reflecting a good simple faithful man that sacrificed himself defenseless in the state of war,to both win and rescue lives, while being mocked and under estimated by his mates at first,he happened to be the ultimate hero with unquestionable bravery and determination, add to that a well cooperative cast crew ,with pretty Teresa Palmer ,the handsome Luke Bracey and professional Vince Vaughn. after that i found my self busy cutting quotes from the movie and placing them all over my FB page and on my room wall, it s been a while since i last witnessed , perfect work as this,.. it s been a real pleasure ...and a soulful experience

depressing but worth watching
1 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
the movie is all Grey ,silent and depressing and revolves around the performance of casey affleck mainly,... it focuses on how dealt with tragedy, the main character played by genius casey afflek has lost his home and children,on what seems an accident that he caused on first place, because of his irresponsible behavior we then watch him transform ,to go from a reckless casual guy to a broken man,who after failing to commit suicide leads an empty soulless life , moves to another town to avoid the memories, works as a plumber, and goes through boring daily routine, hard faced and cold and looses all sense of socialization, then has to take care of his nephew whom father died,.. depressing but deep and touching, worth watching!

zero shades of jamie !
1 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
what was that ? i have read the book, and regardless what s been reported ,and all the fuss,i found it genuinely entertaining and original,... a good movie would have made it memorable,but...,how do i begin ? ...this movie was a joke,a bad joke!!!! it felt like a cheap boring aimless documentary, it has no soul,it was a disaster,i mean what were they thinking?????? jamie is like miles away from being the flawless charismatic "christian grey",no personality,no depth, nothing, just a superficial, absent minded "dude" who s just there to make money.. dakota, nonetheless, seems a little bit more devoted to the role, but doesn't do better either,... zero chemistry and zero attraction between the main characters make you feel uncomfortable,i mean these two seem to confuse reality with cinema and are just busy avoiding each other and it is way noticeable on screen. no sound track,no charm,no story,no emotions and no point of the whole drama. this movie is a dead piece of art, which has intentionally turned the story into garbage ,with a lousy director and a failed cast,... why the effort ,if there was no interest in the book, for whatever reason it might be,... what a waste of money and time..Hollywood at it s lowest!!!
