the lightness of the movement
7 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
So this film should be watched by every person who has a relationship with art and things that are worth it. This film shows the world idealistically in relation to its productions. However, this is not harmful, on the contrary, a studio film from the end of the era of this type of films. Classic lighting, classic backgrounds, painted scenery and backdrops. Well, that is exactly the essence of this film and it communicates the whole story and the portrayal of the characters and their adventures brilliantly. The character of the manager who was mistakenly dragged in and marked as an agent is a combination of James Bond and Rowan Atkinson. It's a great combination. The dialogues in this movie are great. Mainly dramaturgy and tension and the feeling towards the creation of characters that the creators had to show. The humor is carried not only in the conversations, which entertain with light but very true humor, but also in the cuts and the final retrospective ending of the film in the tunnel. It is unreal that even such a retired person can work so effectively with the viewer and it still works after all these years.

Why these movies doesn't exist ?
7 March 2024
The film takes place in one factory and the whole bubble symbolizes exactly the bubble that took place in the late 80s in the country of Czechs and Slovaks. A great creative component of inventing the characters' time, for example through dancing. The film is carried in the flow of the musical. However, this is not harmful. The characters have a very original style of speech. Scenes and images make a movie, and there will definitely be a few left in us after this movie. You can see the effort and relationship to the shots and the camera. Creating compositions and visual smoke almost everywhere. That's the magic of creating a work worth remembering. And it is a great admiration for the creators at that time and under those conditions that such a film was created. Unfortunately, not many people know him because he was drowned out by films from the capitalist West and did not have a chance to compete at that time, for example because of the company's relations with things connected with the former regime.

An overrated issue
7 March 2024
Initially, the film attacks the goals of the top of the filmography with the quality of the scenes, the set, the costumes and also working with the atmosphere. The actors are convincing and the environment, even if generated in places, is incorporated so that it is almost imperceptible. However, where the film's problem arises is in the dramaturgy. Working with film time is not goot at all. The movie sequences don't always fit together, and the closer we get to the end, the more problems there are in this area. In some places, the tension is cut off, and then the tension is missing and the logic of the characters' actions begins to hide. The worst thing is exactly the feeling of watching a movie. It's great that the film captures and hits, but it can't sustain interest all the time without problems. Just the fact that the viewer asks what time it is and how long it takes in the cinema, he notices the people around him and has to literally struggle to keep watching. When the real world starts talking to him through the illusion of the screen. That's a failure. As the film moves forward and nears the end, it becomes boring. The dramaturgy and the position of the characters in the story, their value for the story completely collapses towards the end and is saved only by the vision of a possible sequel. Well, it's not exactly a bad movie, but as a whole it lacks a pull at goal.

Road full of internal transformation
1 February 2024
And sometimes it's nice to think about what really matters and overcome the animal that lies dormant in each of us. A film divided into the present and the past. What the past shows is the world from a different perspective, black and white is actually a symbol of the fact that the world is black and white. Here we get to the heart of the matter and it is always the most important. It was no different in this case. I also have to praise the camera and its combination of hand-filmed movements and in places a style similar to dogma 95. The curb scene perfectly embodies and visualizes the point from which there is no escape. Further on in the film, we see that responsibility is in place, but sometimes not only for oneself. The film begins to develop in the pre-release direction after its half, and the ending is quite expected and quite cut. The power of the swastika symbolism can be felt very strongly in this film. A nice scene in the laundry where the character establishes a friendship with a black man is a pleasant refinement. All in all, the movie is amazing and everyone should watch it for various reasons.

Cold poem that Russia needed
27 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
In the regime of the former Soviet Union, life and its quality were adjusted according to plans. Progress plans, success plans. Well, in the final measure, also of the plans of thought. This situation lasted not only for a while but for over 70 years. In the 1980s, especially after the death of Brezhnev, the shackles of the hammer and sickle slowly melted away. Not by the direct participation of politicians, but by the fact that the union was losing its breath. His decisions from the past and real progress from the West caught up with him. Progress also occurred in people's thinking, and that's why this film was created. It is a metaphorical depiction of the decline of the regime in the Soviet Union. The old man shows his ancient strength, but in reality he is on the edge of a cliff. A young man shows hope and resistance to something old. And even if he is finally silenced, the truth cannot be stopped. A beautiful poetic depiction of relationships and meanings in the environment of Russian gloomy but also classical environments. Paralel story with Russian novel about assasination and similarities with modern coruption. Maybe "ACCA" by meaning of assasination. The figures of soldiers and officers are mocked here. What could have caused the film to end up in the safe at that time. However, at the end of the movie, we can clearly see the message of the movie and that is that something has to change and change is inevitable. The continuation of this film is the film The Needle, where Viktor Tsoi plays the main character. The last passage of the film where the rebellious new front man of the band takes the stage even though he does not meet any ideological requirements.

Where to turn your head in that chaos as child ?
24 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Much more than just the military conflict of the Second World War is hidden in this, with a simple beginning and the first work of Andrei Tarkovsky. More men like Ivan could be found in this world. So why is Ivan the way he is? It is caused by the effect of the environment, the field on which the game called war is played. Here, all rules cease to apply at the moment of combat. It's just kill or be killed. Here, Ivan returns from across the river and it washes away all his original motivations, such as revenge for his mother. As if he didn't exist at all. His only mission is death, to which he returns throughout the film. The short moments in the film where he is on the beach and in the car with the girl are introspections of what could have been. Death in Ivan's case is his meaning, but it was disguised as the love that initially boiled in his heart. In essence, extinction is the only purpose of the inexorable machinery of wartime. At the End, we see the burned body of Goebels and his children killed. What other meaning does this act of war have if not extinction? It is a simple principle of life and death. At the end we see paradise and eternity associated with it. The processing of the film is typical of its creator, and the compositions are thoughtful and complex, the environments unique and visually appealing.

One room is what we need !
22 January 2024
It's absolutely mind-blowing what can be achieved with a simple storyline and a single room where 12 characters interact. We may not see much beyond that, but that's not an issue at all. We work with what we have here. This applies to both the creation of the film and the plot itself. I must admit, the idea of 12 men talking initially seemed quite dull. However, it's evident that the form has been replaced by the content. Content is the key here. It's the content that keeps us engaged in the unfolding process. From a content and meaning perspective, the film explores more complex ideological positions. For instance, how everyone is primarily concerned with themselves, but when it involves someone else including themself, it's the complete opposite. We witness how people overlook the little things, not just in this scenario, but in life as well. This makes them insensitive and oblivious. Similarly, individuals are often afraid to step out of line and express their opinions. Even if they hold a different viewpoint, they usually retract it and remain silent. Moreover, there is a reluctance to discuss problems and find solutions. There's much more to it, but perhaps the viewer will notice it on their own. In simple terms, it's not just a low-budget production. It's also a thought-provoking exploration of social relationships and an individual's connection to society.

Useless piece of tragedy
17 January 2024
If we even think it's worth our time to invest in this "fairy tale," then we can outline the criteria by which we judge the entire thing. Here are the points: Was making a sequel really necessary? After watching it, it's clear that it wasn't. The end result is the tarnishing of the original work from the 80s. Where do we even begin? Is there anything good to consider at all? The visual effects seem like they just threw in everything they had. The editing is poorly done and the cuts are distracting. In terms of the story and its structure, it's probably just a joke. Things happen in the plot as if someone randomly decided to include them, without any real purpose. The excuse that it's a fairy tale doesn't even hold up here. The characters' motivations, if they even exist, are basic and weak. The acting performances are below average and often downright terrible and annoying. The dubbing and that sound are the epitome of how bad Slovak dubbing can be. I don't want to undermine the efforts and time of everyone involved, but wasn't there anyone who could have told the director that this is a waste? Or is there no way to reach out to people in Slovakia? The question is, how was it possible to make a film like the first part 40 years ago, without the resources ? What we are doing today? It's something to ponder, but it's unlikely the director will ever consider it.

so this was literally the script of life
15 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The classic form of retrospective seems outdated, but if we work within the rules of the film game, we can still explore the good plot and characters. This principle adds a creative twist to the noir detective genre, making the viewer the detective. The film incorporates philosophical issues like the struggle between money and love, freedom and true freedom, and progress and living in illusion. How hard is living a Hollywood dream ? These relationships could be analyzed endlessly, but watching the film is key to understanding. Visually, the camera has a static and stilted effect, which was typical for that time, capturing the essence of those films. Nowadays, films lack this approach, narrative, and aesthetics. Dive into the essence and atmosphere, and the flower will bloom on its own.

Please..... give me a water!!!!
14 January 2024
The film surprisingly found its rightful place, regardless of patriotic sentiments. Viewers in the Nordic countries will surely appreciate its accurate portrayal of the local mentality and the diverse range of people living there. On the other hand, for international viewers, it can be a refreshing experience. Love always has a place in life, and this movie is no exception. The characters and their anxieties are depicted realistically, reflecting the true essence of reality. One of the film's strengths is its avoidance of modern trends, making it feel timeless despite being set in 2024. Absurd situations and clever dialogues add a touch of humor that shines through closed teeths. It presents a strongly realistic picture of ordinary people without grand ambitions or goals, simply navigating through life and occasionally being struck by something significant, be it the sorrow of loss or the power of love. The visuals strike a delicate balance, sometimes even appearing sterile, but when combined with the characters and the setting, it all comes together cohesively.

Easy Rider (1969)

Raw but still good enough of style
14 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
From the very beginning, actions take center stage instead of empty words. The film's use of words, or lack thereof, can certainly be debated. It was created as part of the new wave of American B Movies, introducing famous faces to a wider audience. Deniss Hopper serves as a prime example of the effort put into this film. The creators took the film on a road trip across America, showcasing it at schools and universities. This approach perfectly aligns with the film's message and dynamic. When it comes to quality, it's important to consider the unique circumstances under which the film was made, capturing the essence of the American landscape and its people. The majority of the film consists of captivating motorcycle rides accompanied by music. Its legacy lies in its ability to stand out and criticize reality in various societies and environments. While there are moments where the film loses momentum and the characters become slightly exaggerated, their presentation and placement are still well-handled. Their deaths are little bit fast and sharp. The best part of the film is when they had cemetery trippin experience. That was really exciting and very artistic. The image of a lone riders with a few thousand dollars in their pocket (fuel tank), an empty road ahead, and the setting sun behind them perfectly encapsulates the message of America's roads.
